Abstract

The dynamics of educational transformation in the digital and disruptive era demand schools to develop an adaptive curriculum that aligns with students’ developmental needs, local potential, and future career orientation. This study aims to formulate strategic directions for developing an adaptive curriculum based on signature school competencies across educational levels to establish the continuity of students’ career profiles. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with a systematic literature review method, twenty reputable journal articles were analyzed through content and thematic synthesis. The findings reveal that adaptive curriculum development in Indonesia remains fragmented across educational levels and lacks coherent linkage to students’ long-term career goals. Integration of Holland’s RIASEC career theory provides a scientific framework for understanding career tendencies and embedding them into curriculum design from early education. The study synthesizes five key strategies: (1) early identification of students’ potential and career profiles; (2) formulation of schools’ signature competencies as distinctive identities; (3) progressive curriculum design that ensures cross-level continuity; (4) contextual and project-based learning integration; and (5) adaptive evaluation through career portfolios. This conceptual model positions the adaptive curriculum not merely as an instructional tool but as a transformative framework that empowers every school to develop excellence through unique identities while preparing students to be career-conscious, ethical, and resilient in facing the future of work.

Abstract

This study on the effect of emotion regulation on academic stress among university students is grounded in the fact that students face high academic demands while simultaneously undergoing a transitional phase into adulthood, which may trigger negative emotions. During this period, students may experience stress due to difficulties in adapting to these changes. In the educational context, students frequently encounter academic pressures, characterized by heavy coursework, rigorous examinations, and a competitive environment. These pressures can lead to negative impacts known as academic stress. One of the determining factors of academic stress is emotion regulation; therefore, students are required to enhance their emotional regulation abilities. Effective emotion regulation enables students to think more carefully and act objectively. This study employed a quantitative method with an ex post facto approach. The sample consisted of 182 students selected using simple random sampling. The instruments used were an emotion regulation questionnaire comprising 38 items and an academic stress questionnaire consisting of 46 items. Data were analyzed using simple regression analysis. The results showed an Asymp. Sig value of 0.200 and an R Square value of 0.381. The regression equation indicates that emotion regulation has a significant effect on academic stress, meaning that as emotion regulation increases, academic stress decreases.

Abstract

This study addresses the limited availability of psychometrically validated instruments to measure academic resilience among Indonesian university students. The research aimed to develop and validate an Academic Resilience Scale using the Rasch model, which was chosen for its ability to provide linear and invariant measurement beyond Classical Test Theory. A total of 606 students from various universities participated. The 26-item scale was evaluated by experts and analyzed with Winsteps software. The findings demonstrated strong psychometric properties, with person reliability of 0.87, item reliability of 0.91, and Cronbach's alpha of 0.89, indicating high internal consistency. All items met validity criteria based on infit-outfit statistics (0.5 < MNSQ < 1.5). Unidimensionality was confirmed with 38.2% of raw variance explained by measures, exceeding the minimum threshold of 20%. Differential Item Functioning analysis revealed no gender bias across all items (p > 0.05). The Academic Resilience Scale exhibits robust psychometric characteristics and is a valid, reliable instrument for measuring academic resilience among Indonesian university students. The scale has practical implications for academic counseling, intervention design, and cross-cultural research in higher education settings. Keywords: academic resilience, psychometric validation, rasch model, higher education, indonesian university students

Abstract

The low utilization of the counseling laboratory affects the effectiveness of its services. This study aims to analyze students' perceptions, expectations, as well as the reality of the counseling laboratory. A qualitative research approach was used, with data collected through interviews and observations. The research subjects were students who had utilized the counseling laboratory as part of their academic activities. The findings on students' perceptions regarding the implementation of the Counseling Laboratory reveal a gap between expectations and reality. The study found that the laboratory has not fully met students' expectations, particularly in terms of suboptimal facilities and a lack of faculty supervision. Factors contributing to this gap include the quality of laboratory facilities. These findings highlight the need for improvements in facilities and supervision to enhance the effectiveness of counseling laboratory services.
