Abstract

Twenty-first-century physical education should develop students’ responsibility, collaboration, and self-determined learning; however, learning models integrating these aspects remain limited. This study aimed to develop a responsibility learning model based on Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility (TPSR), integrated with collaborative skills and heutagogical principles in junior high school physical education. The study employed a Research and Development method using the ADDIE model. The participants included physical education teachers, expert validators, and 60 eighth-grade students. The instruments consisted of a needs-analysis questionnaire, focus group discussion guidelines, expert validation sheets, observation sheets, and the TARE instrument. Data were analyzed using Aiken’s V, CFA, construct reliability, percentages, and a paired sample t-test. The results showed that the model was valid, practical, and effective. Students’ responsibility scores increased from 2.7384 to 3.2243, with t = 6.8575 and p < .001. The model also supported collaborative behavior and learner autonomy.

Abstract

The increasing intensity of social media use among adolescents may affect physical health, particularly sleep patterns, eye health, and physical activity. This study aimed to describe the impact of social media use on adolescents’ physical health in Pene Village, Jerowaru District, East Lombok Regency. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The study involved 12 informants, consisting of seven adolescents, two parents, and three village stakeholders selected using snowball sampling. Data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model, including data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings showed that adolescents used social media intensively after school and at night. The physical impacts included late sleeping habits, morning drowsiness, eye fatigue, eye discomfort, reduced physical activity, and increased tiredness. The study concludes that social media use among adolescents should be managed through digital health education and family-based supervision.

Abstract

School and madrasah futsal players often face match pressure, spectator reactions, and performance demands that may influence their mental toughness. This study aimed to examine the relationship of self-confidence and competitive anxiety with mental toughness among MA NW Gonjong futsal players. A quantitative correlational approach was used, involving 20 players selected through total sampling. The instruments consisted of self-confidence, competitive anxiety, and mental toughness scales. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, assumption tests, correlation, and multiple regression. The results showed that self-confidence and competitive anxiety simultaneously had a significant relationship with mental toughness (F = 4.457; p = 0.028), with the model contributing 34.4%. However, partial tests showed that self-confidence (p = 0.068) and competitive anxiety (p = 0.718) were not significant predictors. In conclusion, the combination of both variables is related to mental toughness, but their partial relationships were not statistically strong.

Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in physical education still faces differences in school readiness, particularly regarding teachers’ understanding, facilities, technology use, and assessment practices. This study aimed to describe the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in physical education learning and identify the challenges faced by teachers at public junior high schools in Sape District. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed in five public junior high schools. The informants included physical education teachers, principals or vice principals for curriculum affairs, and students. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and documentation of teaching materials. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings showed that the curriculum was implemented through active learning, collaboration, simple projects, and character reinforcement. The main challenges were limited facilities, uneven teacher understanding, limited technology use, and authentic assessment.
