Abstract

Islamic banking in Indonesia is currently facing complex challenges, given its relatively early stage of development compared to conventional banks. Amid intense competition in the national banking industry, Islamic banks must compete not only in service but also in innovation, technology, and human resource quality. This study examines the influence of compensation and digital competence on employee performance at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Pontianak Branch, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable. A quantitative, causal explanatory research design was applied. Data were collected through an online survey involving 167 BSI Pontianak employees selected via purposive sampling. Responses were measured using a 5-point Likert scale. The data analysis employed Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) using SmartPLS 4. The findings show that compensation significantly affects employee performance, while digital competence does not. Furthermore, job satisfaction has a significant positive impact on employee performance and mediates the relationship between compensation and performance. However, job satisfaction does not mediate the relationship between digital competence and performance, as job satisfaction at Bank Syariah Indonesia tends to be more influenced by external factors. These results highlight the importance of compensation and job satisfaction in improving employee performance within the Islamic banking sector..

Abstract

The workforce represents a cornerstone for any organizations growth and long-term success, particularly amid the complexities of todays professional landscape. This reality also applies to Indonesias State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) such as PT BRI, PT Pos Indonesia, PT Telkom Indonesia, Perum Bulog, and PT Pelindo. Employees within these institutions frequently struggle to strike a balance between professional responsibilities and personal life. The present study aims to explore how work-family conflict, workload pressure, and job-related stress influence the tendency of employees to consider leaving their jobs. Adopting a quantitative methodology, the study employed SmartPLS 4 for data analysis. Questionnaires were distributed to personnel across several SOEs, including the aforementioned companies. Findings revealed that both work-family tensions and high job demands significantly escalate employees turnover intention. Moreover, job stress emerged as a crucial intermediary factor that reinforces these effects. These insights underscore the importance for SOE leaders to implement supportive HR strategies that mitigate stress and foster healthier work-life integration. Addressing these issues not only reduces employee attrition but also contributes to stronger organizational stability and performance.

Abstract

In the midst of globalization and intense competition, organizations encourage employees to work harder, but this risks disrupting Work-Life Balance. This study aims to determine the effect of workload and work environment on performance, as well as the role of Work-Life Balance as a mediating variable at BAPENDA West Kalimantan Province. The approach used is quantitative, with primary and secondary data analyzed using SmartPLS 3.3.2. A Likert scale of 1-5 was used to measure statement items. The results showed that workload has a negative and significant effect on employee performance. This shows that the higher the perceived workload, the employee performance tends to decrease. In addition, Work-Life Balance significantly mediates (partially) the positive effect of work environment on performance. This finding confirms the importance of creating a work environment that supports work-life balance to improve the performance of ASN employees.

Abstract

Work Engagement dan Work-Life Balance berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Job Satisfaction.

Abstract

The rise of digital technologies has reshaped the business landscape, pushing organizations to adapt to remain competitive. This study explores how Digital Technology, Organisational Culture, and Leadership Skills relate to Organisational Sustainability, with a particular focus on the industrial sector in West Java. Data were collected from employees and leaders at various levels using a questionnaire, with 162 respondents. The analysis involved testing construct validity and reliability (through Cronbach's alpha and Composite Reliability), as well as conducting path analysis to evaluate direct and indirect effects among independent, mediating, and dependent variables. The results show that adopting digital technologies, an improved organisational culture, and strong leadership competencies all contribute to greater organisational resilience and sustainability. However, the study also highlights a gap: many organisations still lack an adaptive culture and the essential leadership skills to navigate ongoing technological change. These findings offer valuable insights for practitioners and organizational leaders is to develop an inclusive and innovative organizational culture alongside adaptable leadership systems, while also embracing digital transformation in a way that responsibly addresses its social and ethical implications such as privacy, data security, and environmental sustainability to ensure long-term resilience, relevance, and positive impact on all stakeholders.

Abstract

Leadership in organizations is a process that involves many formal and informal leaders at all levels and in various organizational subunits. This study explores the influence of transformational leadership and spiritual leadership on spiritual human capital and officer performance at the West Kalimantan State Prison. Using a quantitative approach with the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method, this study tests the hypothesis that transformational and spiritual leadership influence spiritual human capital, which then mediates officer performance. The results of the analysis show that spiritual leadership has a significant influence on officer performance and spiritual human capital, while transformational leadership does not show a significant direct influence. Spiritual human capital was shown to mediate the relationship between spiritual leadership and officer performance. These findings emphasize the importance of meeting officers’ spiritual needs to enhance their performance, as well as the crucial role of spiritual leadership in organizations. This study provides insight into how effective leadership can enhance productivity and performance in the correctional context.

Abstract

Employee performance at Pontianak City's public health center (Puskesmas) has recently revealed a gap between the goals outlined in the Health Department's Performance Agreement and actual results.  Emotional intelligence is one of the internal characteristics that may impact performance, as indicated by this condition.  Results from earlier research on the connection between employee performance and emotional intelligence have been mixed.  Furthermore, only a small number of studies—especially in Pontianak City—have positioned job satisfaction as a mediating variable in the context of basic healthcare services.  This study uses job satisfaction as a mediating variable to examine how emotional intelligence affects Puskesmas employees' performance in Pontianak City.  225 Puskesmas employees who were chosen through purposive sampling were given questionnaires as part of a quantitative approach.  Using the SmartPLS software, structural equation modeling, or SEM, was used to analyze the data.  The findings demonstrate that emotional intelligence significantly and favorably affects employee performance as well as job satisfaction.  Additionally, it was discovered that a significant mediating variable in the association between performance and emotional intelligence was job satisfaction.  These results emphasize how crucial it is to enhance job pleasure and cultivate emotional intelligence as calculated measures to boost worker performance.  The practical implication is that in order to improve the quality of public health services in a sustainable manner, Puskesmas management and the Health Department should focus more on the psychological aspects of their workforce.
