Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of character building at MTsN 6 Sragen, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors in the process. The background of this research stems from the importance of character education in shaping students with integrity, honesty, discipline, and responsibility. In an era of globalization filled with moral challenges, character education becomes a vital aspect that must be implemented in schools. This research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving teachers, students, and school staff at MTsN 6 Sragen. The research findings indicate that the implementation of character building at MTsN 6 Sragen has been effective, although some challenges remain, such as limited teaching time and minimal parental involvement. Other findings show that students participating in this program tend to exhibit better discipline and responsibility. The main supporting factors include the commitment of teachers in running the program and a conducive school environment. However, social media influence and lack of family engagement present the primary challenges. The study implies that the success of character education in schools requires strong collaboration between schools, families, and communities.

Abstract

Contribution in directing the transformation of political education to prepare more informed and politically engaged citizens in the 21st century. This study aims to analyze the political awareness index of students through teaching in the development of the 21st century political education curriculum. The research method used was a quantitative survey involving respondents from the student population. Respondents were randomly selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaires that have been prepared based on conceptual frameworks relevant to research variables. The collected data is then statistically analyzed using descriptive methods and inferential analysis to identify significant relationships and patterns between the variables studied. The results of this study are expected to provide a deeper understanding of the Student Political Awareness Index and the role of teaching in the development of the 21st century political education curriculum in shaping student political awareness. Through this article, it can be concluded that the Student Political Awareness Index and the role of teaching in the development of the 21st century political education curriculum in shaping student political consciousness.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penulisan artikel ini adalah untuk mengkaji dan mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan demokrasi di Indonesia yang mulai meninggalkan nilai-nilai Pancasila sebagai dasar Negara. Metode dalam penulisan artikel ini adalah library research. Hasil kajian mengungkapkan bahwa pelaksanaan demokrasi di Indonesia telah banyak mengalami pasang surut sejak era kemerdekaan hingga reformasi kini. Pelaksanaan demokrasi dengan tidak meninggalkan nilai-nilai Pancasila merupakan tantangan pelaksanaan demokasi bagi Indonesia kini. Setelah melakukan kajian, peneliti dapat mengatakan bahwa Pancasila merupakan tawaran solusi mutlak dalam membangun demokrasi ”sehat”.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan nasionalisme dan kesadaran hukum warga, khususnya kalangan remaja, melalui penyuluhan dan sosialisasi pencegahan kejahatan jalanan di wilayah RT 07 RW 59, Sengkang Joho, Condongcatur, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Berdasarkan hasil analisis situasi, daerah ini mengalami peningkatan keresahan masyarakat akibat maraknya kasus kejahatan jalanan seperti klitih dan perkelahian remaja yang meresahkan ketertiban umum. Permasalahan utama yang diidentifikasi adalah rendahnya pemahaman remaja terhadap nilai-nilai kebangsaan, serta minimnya kesadaran hukum dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi pendekatan partisipatif berupa penyuluhan interaktif, diskusi kelompok terfokus, serta simulasi kasus hukum sederhana yang relevan dengan konteks kehidupan remaja. Materi disampaikan oleh tim dosen dan praktisi hukum dengan pendekatan edukatif dan komunikatif, menggunakan media audiovisual dan modul cetak sebagai pendukung. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 27 Mei 2025 dan melibatkan unsur tokoh masyarakat, pengurus RT/RW, serta pemuda setempat.Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta terhadap pentingnya nasionalisme dan kesadaran hukum, ditunjukkan dengan partisipasi aktif dan respon positif terhadap materi. Diskusi kelompok menghasilkan sejumlah rekomendasi komunitas, antara lain pembentukan satgas remaja sadar hukum dan forum dialog berkala. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini berkontribusi dalam membangun budaya hukum dan nasionalisme sejak dini guna menciptakan lingkungan yang aman dan kondusif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana membangun karakter resiliensi melalui pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis keterlibatan. Fokus penelitian ini adalah mengeksplorasi pengaruh pembelajaran tersebut terhadap pengembangan lima elemen utama karakter resiliensi, yaitu ketangguhan emosional, pemecahan masalah kreatif, adaptabilitas, kepemimpinan kolaboratif, dan keteguhan tujuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, dengan pengumpulan data melalui survei lapangan menggunakan kuesioner yang telah tervalidasi dan reliabel sesuai standar penelitian kuantitatif selain menggunakan kuesioner juga menggunakan wawancara. Populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswa program S1 Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, dengan sampel sebanyak 256 mahasiswa yang dipilih menggunakan metode cluster sampling dari 7  fakultas, berdasarkan rumus Slovin. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif, uji normalitas, dan homogenitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat keterlibatan dalam pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis keterlibatan bervariasi pada setiap domain karakter resiliensi. Ketangguhan emosional, keteguhan tujuan, pemecahan masalah kreatif, dan adaptabilitas menunjukkan tingkat keterlibatan yang baik. Namun, pada domain kepemimpinan kolaboratif, keterlibatan mahasiswa relatif rendah. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi perbedaan keterlibatan ini termasuk metode pembelajaran yang kurang mendukung kolaborasi aktif serta keterbatasan fasilitas pendukung. Temuan ini memberikan implikasi penting bagi pengembangan model pembelajaran kontekstual yang lebih efektif dalam membangun karakter resiliensi secara holistik.

Abstract

The purpose of writing this article was  to describe RADEC learning model in building critical thinking skills. This study was  conducted because of the need for a learning model that fits the Indonesian context to build critical thinking skills that can be used at  elementary school level. This study used the literature review. This study produced  one solution to be able to build critical thinking skills using  RADEC learning model (read-answer-discuss-explain and create). The approach in learning  done by the teacher plays a role in improving critical thinking skills. The teacher needs to use a learning model that can stimulate students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the implementation of quarantine in terms of the online learning model in improving civic responsibility as a solution during the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. This study's subject was 47 students (17 males and 30 females) at the Department of Teacher and Primary Education Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, Yogyakarta, which was processing Citizenship Education in the academic year 2019/2020. The researchers collected the data from students and lecturers through observation, interviews, and documentation study. The technique of data analysis was performed through descriptive qualitative analysis. The study results indicated that the online learning model at the Department of Teacher and Primary Education Ahmad Dahlan University in 2019/2020 could improve students' civic responsibility. The data have shown that civic responsibility consisted of 97 % social participation, 76 % social advocacy, and 79 % citizenship participation. This study could finally conclude that online learning model could improve civic responsibility as a solution during the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia and tended to be an alternative and effective model in rare situations. This research can be used as input in increasing civic responsibility as a solution during a pandemic in Indonesia.

Abstract

Menggugah semangat nasional merupakan suatu langkah penting dalam memperkuat rasa kebersamaan dan identitas bangsa. Dalam konteks perayaan Hari Kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia, kegiatan seperti lomba-lomba di tingkat komunitas menjadi sarana yang efektif untuk merangkul partisipasi masyarakat. Melalui lomba-lomba ini, warga tidak hanya berkompetisi, tetapi juga berkolaborasi dalam menciptakan suasana yang penuh keceriaan dan kreativitas. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyrakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk menghidupkan kembali semangat nasionalisme di kalangan masyarakat melalui serangkaian lomba yang menarik dan penuh warna. Kegiatan PKM di lakukan di di PKK RT 07 RW 59, Condongcatur, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta pada tanggal 17 Agustus 2024. Hasil PKM Menunjukan bahwa dengan melibatkan warga dalam pelatihan dan bimbingan, acara ini tidak hanya berfokus pada kompetisi, tetapi juga pada kolaborasi dan kreativitas. Lomba-lomba yang diselenggarakan, seperti lomba seni, budaya, dan permainan tradisional, dirancang untuk mempererat tali persaudaraan serta meningkatkan rasa cinta tanah air. Kegiatan ini juga berfungsi sebagai platform untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran akan nilai-nilai kemerdekaan dan pentingnya partisipasi aktif dalam pembangunan komunitas. Diharapkan, melalui pendampingan yang intensif dan suasana yang meriah, masyarakat tidak hanya merayakan hari bersejarah ini, tetapi juga mengukir kenangan indah dan memperkuat solidaritas dalam bingkai kebangsaan.

Abstract

This study investigates how an Islamic-based international school in Indonesia, Global Islamic School (GIS) Yogyakarta, forms globally minded young citizens through curricular and non-curricular initiatives. Amid the growing importance of global citizenship education (GCE) in the 21st century, the study explores how GIS integrates core global citizenship competencies into its educational vision, pedagogical design, and student development programs. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, document analysis, and classroom observations. Findings indicate that GIS utilizes a four-pillar model within the national curriculum plus framework to cultivate a generation of globally engaged Muslim youth. Additionally, extracurricular programs such as bilingual learning days, international competitions, and educational trips abroad provide meaningful spaces for students to develop global competencies in authentic contexts. This study contributes to the discourse on faith-based approaches to global citizenship education and offers implications for schools cultivating inclusive, ethical, and globally engaged young people.

Abstract

This study applies Light’s theory of ecological citizenship which emphasizes three key aspects including responsibility for environmental impact, concern for the well-being of others, and efforts to preserve ecological sustainability. The research aims to examine how ecological citizenship is actualized in the daily lives of riverbank residents and how the local government supports this process. It employs a qualitative case study method with data collected through field observations and interviews involving 32 informants consisting of urban village heads, neighborhood leaders, and residents. Supporting literature and administrative documents were used as secondary sources, and data validation was conducted using triangulation of techniques and sources. The findings show that ecological citizenship in the riverbank areas of North Banjarmasin is reflected in both community participation and government involvement. Residents engage in waste management, voluntary clean-up efforts, and collective sanitation funding, all of which are supported by strong social cohesion. The local government contributes by providing infrastructure, organizing awareness programs, and maintaining sanitation through routine institutional initiatives. To further strengthen ecological citizenship, residents are encouraged to participate in environmental decision-making through public forums and direct communication with authorities. Local governments are advised to facilitate inclusive and informative discussion spaces, use digital platforms to broaden public engagement, and collaborate with universities and community organizations to enhance environmental education. These efforts are essential for fostering a collective sense of ecological responsibility and promoting sustainable practices in riverbank communities.
