Abstract

Dalam membangun sebuah peradaban bangsa yang kokoh, diperlukan upaya penguatan jati diri bangsa secara terus menerus yang dilakukan dengan beragam inovasi dalam ruang pendidikan dan pembelajaran yang menyesuaikan dengan perkembangan zaman. Tujuan penelitian ini membahas mengenai upaya pendidikan budaya melalui implementasi media pembelajaran konten digital berbasis cerita rakyat untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca siswa yang menjadi peserta didik kelas tulis di sebuah Madrasah Aliyah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif dengan sumber data berupa jawaban atau respon dari pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang diberikan oleh peneliti,  hasil pekerjaan peserta didik selama mengikuti pembelajaran serta mengamati proses berlangsungnya pembelajaran yang mengimplementasikan media pembelajaran konten digital berbasis cerita rakyat untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca dalam literasi budaya. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara observasi pastisipatif, yakni dengan wawancara, dokumentasi hasil pekerjaan peserta didik serta proses pembelajaran. Hasil dari penelitian ini menujukkan bahwa konten digital berbasis cerita rakyat dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis dalam literasi budaya, hal tersebut terlihat dari topik yang ditulis siswa menjadi semakin berkembang dengan adanya cerita rakyat yang dihadirkan sebagai media pembelajaran dalam rangka pembudayaan.

Abstract

This study examines the novel Tanjung Kemarau by Royyan Julian through an ecosemiotic perspective to explore cultural resistance and environmental advocacy in Madura Island. The primary focus of this research is how cultural symbols and narratives in the novel reflect the close relationship between the local community and the environment, particularly the mangrove forests. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study analyzes the symbolism and meanings related to ecological and cultural issues in the novel. The findings show that mangrove forests are not only viewed as physical ecosystems but also as sacred spaces revered by the community. Mystical figures such as Nyai Rasera and the village cleansing rituals are depicted as part of the community's efforts to preserve the environment and resist commercial exploitation. The novel serves as a form of resistance against environmentally destructive modernization practices, while also acting as an advocacy tool emphasizing the importance of preserving cultural values in ecological conservation. This research enriches the discourse of ecosemiotics in Indonesian literary studies and highlights the potential of literature as a medium for culturally-based environmental advocacy.

Abstract

The Bancakan folk tale represents a simple yet meaningful tradition of celebration through food offerings. This study uses a gastro-semiotic-ethnographic approach to reveal the function of food in the story as a cultural symbol and inspiration for humanistic education. The method used is qualitative descriptive-text analysis with the data source being the folk tale titled Bancakan by Sudadi. Data was collected through reading, note-taking, and mapping signs and values. It was analyzed using a framework of gastronomy, semiotics, and ethnography, supported by Causal Layered Analysis (CLA). The research findings reveal that food in the story, such as nasi gunungan, urap, boiled eggs, salted fish, and nasi gandulan (rice sent to an absent child), represents prayers, hopes, togetherness, and care. This aligns with Javanese cultural practices that emphasize togetherness and acceptance (nrima). Through CLA, the symbolism of these foods is projected into future education through a love-based curriculum rooted in compassion, empathy, and solidarity. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of gastrosemiotic ethnography and CLA, positioning culinary folk tales not merely as cultural heritage but as a source of inspiration for humanistic education grounded in local wisdom.
