Abstract

The knowledge of maternal and child health and nutrition in Sukamerta Village is highlighted in the context of community well-being. The limited understanding of this issue has led to the need for interventions aimed at raising awareness of the importance of health aspects. This study aims to provide sustainable solutions through counseling and education efforts at Rawamerta Community Health Center. The research method applied includes a series of systematically designed steps. Starting from pre-event questionnaire filling to evaluate the initial level of knowledge, direct counseling, educational video screenings, interactive question and answer sessions, and distribution of brochures as additional sources of information. This approach not only delivers information but also encourages active participation of participants to enhance the effectiveness of knowledge transfer. The research results show a significant improvement in understanding of maternal and child health and nutrition after participating in the educational event. The success of the counseling, reaching a rate of 86.78%, confirms that this approach has a strong positive impact on enhancing community knowledge regarding crucial health issues.

Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen the mental resilience and emotional well-being of researchers and academics at a higher education institution in Brunei Darussalam through a Self-Resilience Enhancement workshop based on self-existential discovery techniques using a self-existential discovery (tadabbur alam). The Community Service Team from State University of Surabaya (UNESA) organized the program in response to the high levels of stress, burnout, and workload pressure experienced by the academic community. The tadabbur alam was chosen because it can combine self-introspection, strengthening self-identity, and spiritual connection through direct observation of natural phenomena. The program resulted in an increase of self-awareness, clarity of thought, gratitude, and inner peace, and gained adaptive strategies to deal with life's stressors of participants. Participants also understood resilience not only as the ability to bounce back from setbacks, but also as an internal strength derived from self-understanding and a spiritual connection with God. This activity is an example of cross-country collaboration between UNESA and a higher education institution in Brunei Darussalam through Guidance and Counseling Study Program and Counselling and Diverse Learning Needs Unit that is relevant to be developed in a program to improve academic mental health based on Islamic values and local culture.

Abstract

Orally Dissolving Film (ODF) is an oral dosage innovation that can dissolve rapidly in the oral cavity without the need for water, thereby improving patient comfort and compliance. One of the critical parameters in evaluating ODF is disintegration time, which is influenced by the type and concentration of the film-forming polymer. Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC) is the most commonly used polymer due to its hydrophilic nature and excellent film-forming ability. This review aims to analyze the effect of HPMC concentration on the disintegration time of ODF, as well as to examine the influence of different types and combinations of other polymers. The method used was a literature review with a PICO approach. Articles were searched through Google Scholar and PubMed databases using the keywords “Orally Dissolving Film,” “HPMC,” “polymer,” “disintegration time,” and “formulation,” covering publications from 2017 to 2025. Nine articles met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed. The review results show that an increase in HPMC concentration generally prolongs disintegration time due to the increased viscosity and density of the film. However, differences in HPMC types (such as E5, E5 LV, and E15) and combinations with other polymers such as maltodextrin, PVA, and corn starch can enhance water absorption and accelerate disintegration time. Conclusion : The concentration and type of HPMC polymer affect the disintegration time of Orally Dissolving Film (ODF). Proper selection of polymer concentration and combination is necessary to achieve optimal disintegration time.

Abstract

Psychological problems such as loneliness and unresolved emotional conflicts (unfinished business) are increasingly recognized as important issues in modern counseling studies because they are often associated with various maladaptive behaviors, including substance abuse. This study aims to explore how an existential approach within humanistic counseling can help individuals address loneliness and unresolved emotional issues that may contribute to the risk of substance use. This research employed a qualitative case study approach to examine the counseling process and the client’s psychological experiences during existential-humanistic counseling sessions. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation of counseling sessions, and reflective documentation. The findings indicate that existential-humanistic counseling helps clients develop greater self-awareness, reinterpret past emotional experiences, and discover meaning in their life struggles. Through authentic therapeutic relationships and phenomenological exploration, clients were able to confront feelings of isolation and gradually resolve unresolved emotional conflicts. The counseling process also encouraged clients to take personal responsibility and develop healthier coping mechanisms when facing emotional distress. These findings suggest that existential-humanistic counseling provides a meaningful framework for helping individuals transform loneliness and unresolved emotional issues into opportunities for personal growth and psychological well-being. Abstract
