Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) hasil tes seleksi masuk program D3 Reguler Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (FT UNY) dan prestasi akademik mahasiswa D3 FT UNY yang lulus tes seleksi dan (2) daya prediksi tes seleksi terhadap prestasi akademik mahasiswa D3 FT UNY. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di FT UNY dengan menggunakan teknik analisis dokumen. Populasi penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa baru program D3 FT UNY tahun 2005 yang diterima melalui tes seleksi sebanyak 219 orang. Semua populasi dijadikan sampel penelitian. Data penelitian diambil dari dokumen hasil tes seleksi masuk dan pencapaian indeks prestasi semester I pada tahun akademik 2005/ 2006. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis secara deskriptif dan korelasional dengan menggunakan bantuan program SPSS 10. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh hasil penelitian Sebagai berikut: (1) rerata skor hasil tes seleksi masuk program D3 reguler= 261, 733 masuk dalam kategori baik, (2) rerata indeks prestasi yang dicapai mahasiswa angkatan 2005/2006= 2,711 masuk dalam kategori baik dan (3) tes seleksi masuk program D3 Reguler tahun 2005 memiliki korelasi positif terhadap pencapaian indeks prestasi mahasiswa dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,68. Dengan kata lain, skor tes seleksi masuk memberikan kontribusi sebesar 46,24% terhadap capaian indeks prestasi. Artinya tes seleksi masuk program D3 Reguler FT UNY memiliki daya prediksi yang cukup baik. Oleh karena itu, tes seleksi masuk ini dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu cara untuk seleksi penerimaan mahasiswa baru FT UNY dalam rangka mendapatkan calon mahasisawa yang berkualitas.

Abstract

This study aims at investigating the difference of creativity between the students treated with the Student-Centered Learning (SCL) strategy and the students treated with the Direct Learning strategy. It was a quasi-experimental study employing the non-equivalent control group design. It was conducted using the 2x2 factorial design. The research population were 40 students attending the course of Fabrication Construction Design. The results of the study showed that (1) The creativity of the students using the SCL strategy attained mean scores of 42.65, higher than the students using the Direct Learning strategy with mean scores of 39. (2) The students with high spatial ability using the SCL strategy attained mean scores of 49, higher than the students using the Direct Learning strategy with mean scores of 36.3. (3) The students with low spatial ability using the SCL strategy attained mean scores of 36.3, lower than the students using the Direct Learning strategy with mean scores of 41.70. (4) There was an interaction between the learning strategy and the spatial ability in terms of the effect on the creativity.

Abstract

This research aims to describe (1) the latest data about the existence of vocational senior high school that consists of the numbers of school, the skill program, the numbers of learning group, and the numbers of productive training teacher: (2) the comparison of the productive training teacher with the skill program and the learning group. This research was conducted by using survey technique. The population which also eshtablished as the sample of this research were all of the head of the Branch Office of Education in the provinces region Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), South Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, and all of the headmasters of SMK in those provinces. The data were collected by using documentation and questionnaire technique. The collected data were analyzed by using the quatitave descriptive technique and processed by SPSS 12 program. The result of this research showed that there was difference of SMK numbers between the numbers of SMK that recorded in 2008 (409 schools) and the numbers of SMK that observed in 2009. There were 423 SMKs in DIY, South Kalimantan, and East Kalimantan. 152 SMKs of them were public shool and the other 271 SMKs were private schools. The numbers of skill program were 1142 programs that located in DIY: 491, South Kalimantan: 198, and East Kalimantan: 453. The numbers of learning group = 4998 groups, for DIY 2309 groups, South Kalimantan 785 groups and East Kalimantan 1904 groups. The numbers of productive training teacher were 16069 people, DIY 7450 people, South Kalimantan 2459 people and East Kalimantan 5160 people. The comparison between teacher and skill program was 14,6 : 1, between teacher and learning group was 3,2 : 1. The skill program dominantly handled were Automotive Mechanical Engineering, Networks and Computer Technology, Accountancy, Multimedia, Marketing, and Office Administration. Abstract

The problems of the furniture industry target are about the effectiveness  of the use of wood chisel and bit machine because it hasn't fix machine bench for wood laying and the machine position that not ergonomic.  These  problems make. setting.. time longer, wood position unstable because of unfix bench, the vice easy to broken because  of  instability  of  wood,  imprecision  of  hole  position,  and  the  exhausted operator because of the machine position.The  main  goal of this  voucher  program  is to modify wood  chisel  and  bit machine for preparing the connection between pin and its hole at U.O ..TANGGUH, small scale furniture industry, so that productivity and quality  of the furniture will be improved. For mass production, every step must be done perfectly and carefully  so that every part can be connected  and constructed  correctly.  Because of the reason. above  wood  and  chisel  machine  that  strong,  easy  to  operate.: easy  to  lay  wood accurately, and ergonomic must be developed.                                   ,Wood and chisel machine that be developed has 220 cm length and 30 ernwidth of its bench so that the wood with 200 em length or 'more can be supported accurately  especially  at its parallel position to the machine vice. For operating  the machine easily, the machine bench is made approximately  50 em height, so that the operator  with  sit down  position  can operate  the  machine  without  exhausted.  The wood 'chisel and bit machine can make the hole approximately 7 em depth and 1 ern width.,   The result of the machine performance  test show that the machine  can be. operated easily without exhausted. The hole is easily to be made on wood with 200ern length without setting wood position. The hole position is automatically perpendicular  to the horizontal line of the wood so that in accordance with the hole position  on  the  wood.  There  is  no  vibration  on  bench  and  the  machine.  This condition shows that the construction design is strong enough to the vibration of the motor revolution and the hole feeding.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Research is presented to map State Vocational High School (SMKN) in Boyolali based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) owned by students. HOTS is indispensable in facing critical thinking skills in the 21st  century. The research used uses a qualitative type of survey approach. Students in vocational schools are given cognitive questions oriented to HOTS which refers to Bloom's taxonomy, in the form of evaluating, analyzing, and creating. Questions are presented in multiple choice forms and have been validated with the questmaster program. The results showed that HOTS owned by students in Boyolali Vocational High School was still relatively low, ie 36% at SMKN 1 Klego, 37% in SMKN Nogosari, and 41% in students at SMKN 1 Klego.

Abstract

The article explored the relationship between the use of teaching materials and the role of students with learning achievement during the COVID-19 period. The research was correlational quantitative approach with research subjects at the Mechanical Engineering Vocational School. Collecting data using interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Pearson Product Moment correlation technique analysis, t-test, and F test, with SPSS software. The results showed that the use of teaching materials is an external factor that supports the effectiveness of student learning outcomes, adds motivation to the spirit of learning, improves skills directly, creates an independent learning atmosphere according to interests, speed and a certain way, was able to independently assess and evaluate the results of using materials. The role of students when learning from home (BDR) was not good enough, caused by various factors, namely the role of educators which must be maximized again, providing motivation and support even though learning was carried out online from home. The role of students, in this case, was actively paying attention to the presentation of learning with modules through the zoom platform, understanding learning materials, summarizing and concluding subject matter, participating actively in asking questions, and responding either individually or in groups. Learning achievement produced by students in the Covid-19 era could not be separated from the effectiveness of using modules, but there were still obstacles experienced by students when learning from home online, less active participation during the learning process, and late in collecting assignments. Abstract

This research is aimed at identifying the amount of the ability dimensions contained in the Test of English Proficiency (TOEP), particularly in the listening section. This study is an explorative descriptive quantitative research. The data of the study are the responses of the TOEP participants in the whole Indonesia in 2010, in some TOEP components. The participants are grade IX students of senior high schools. The collected data were gained from the data documentation of the Diretorate of Senior High Schools Founding of the National Education Ministry, Jakarta. The data analysis for identifying the dimension was done by implementing exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. The exploratory factor analysis was done by using SPSS computer program. The result of the research shows that of the seven sets of listening which were analyzed, all of them contain listening dominant dimension if they are analyzed using graphics method, explainable variance, and Eigen value ratio.

Abstract

This research and development aims to determine the feasibility level of module learning media of grinding theory and to determine the effectiveness of basic grinding theory to the academic achievement of class XI students in the machining study program. The research methods is quantitative descriptive method. The results   validates the use of grinding theory module in learning activities. The average percentage from the quality of content, instructional and technical, is 91,25%. The effectiveness of basic grinding theory module can be seen from the improvement of students' marks of 97.28% in average. The increase in the active participation is 33.3%.Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan media pembelajaran modul teori pemesinan gerinda dan mengetahui tingkat efektivitas modul teori pemesinan gerinda terhadap hasil belajar siswa teknik pemesinan kelas XI SMK Muhammadiyah Prambanan. Penelitian ini menggunakan langkah Research and Development dan metode penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil pada penelitian ini adalah media pembelajaran modul teori pemesinan gerinda dinyatakan layak digunakan untuk kegiatan pembelajaran dengan rerata persentase kelayakan kualitas isi, instruksional, dan teknis sebesar 91,25%. Efektivitas media pembelajaran modul Teori Gerinda Dasar dapat dilihat dari peningkatan rerata hasil belajar sebesar 97,28% dan peningkatan partisipasi aktif sebesar 33,3%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the differences in students' activity and academic achievement on the implementation of character-based Competence Based Training (CBT) learning model. The research used two groups Quasi Experimental Design. Samples were taken by cluster sampling, in which one class of bachelor degree students was used as control group and one class of diploma degree students as experimental group. Data were collected using observation technique with instruments of attitude, behavior and products. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis with t-test. Result shows that there are differences in students' learning activities and academic achievement on Milling Machining practice using character-based CBT, in which the learning activity and achievement of the experimental class are better than the control class.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana perbedaan aktivitas dan prestasi belajar mahasiswa antara kelas yang menerapkan model pembelajaran CBT berbasis karakter dengan kelas yang tidak menerapkan. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah desain Quasi Experimental Design dua kelompok. Sampel penelitian diambil secara Cluster Sampling, yaitu untuk program S1 diambil 1 kelas sebagai kelas kontrol dan program D3 diambil 1 kelas sebagai kelas eksperimen. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi dengan instrumen sikap, perilaku dan produk. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dengan t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat perbedaan aktivitas belajar mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran praktik Pemesinan Frais melalui penerapan model pembelajaran CBT berbasis karakter, dimana aktivitas belajar mahasiswa pada kelas eksperimen lebih baik dari kelas kontrol. Terdapat perbedaan prestasi belajar mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran praktik Pemesinan Frais melalui penerapan model pembelajaran CBT berbasis karakter, dimana prestasi belajar pada kelas eksperimen lebih baik dari kelas kontrol.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the geometric quality of lathe machining product and what causes the low geometric quality of the lathe machining practices. This research is a descriptive study using a quantitative approach. Data were obtained by documentation and direct observation of the studied object, and then were processed using descriptive statistical analysis. Results show that the average value of the geometric quality of lathe machining products was relatively low, amounted to 67.14. The aspects that caused deficiencies and low geometric quality are, among others, incorrect spindle speed, incorrect feeds, incorrect depth of cuts, improper use of measuring tools, and lack of awareness ofthe Occupational Safety and Health equipment.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas geometris produk hasil praktik pemesinan bubut dan penyebab rendahnya kualitas geometris hasil praktik pemesinan bubut. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan menggunakan dokumentasi dan pengamatan langsung pada obyek yang diteliti kemudian diolah menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata – rata nilai kualitas geometris hasil praktik pemesinan bubut siswa tergolong rendah yakni sebesar 67,14 serta aspek-aspek yang menjadi penyebab kekurangan dan kelemahan kualitas geometris diantaranya meliputi, kesalahan dalam menentukan putaran mesin, kesalahan dalam menentukan kecepatan gerak pemakanan, tidak tepatnya pengaturan kedalaman pemakanan, kesalahan dalam menggunakan alat ukur serta kurangnya kesadaran akan pentingnya penggunaan perlengkapan K3.
