Abstract

This research aims to determine students conceptual and procedural abilities in solving problems in multiplication operations and to know the factors that cause students to experience solving problems difficulties in multiplication operations in third grade students in  SDN Sukamaju, SDN Panyingkiran I, and SDN Panyingkiran II. This reseacrh uses descriptive methods with the subject of reseacrh is all third students in SDN  Sukamaju, SDN Panyingkiran I, and SDN Panyingkiran II that amount to one hundred people. Data collection techniques and research instruments that used are diagnostic test, interview guidelines, and teacher performance guidelines. The data analysis technique that used is descriptive statistics. The result of the research indicate that students’ conceptual abilities in the multiplication counting operation material are still fairly low. Students make a alot of mistakes when they’re completing test question. The most mistakes that student do in diagnostic test is in the final result and the least error is in the use of mathematical symbols. Students’ procedural abilities in solving problems in multiplication operation is fairly low. If viewed based on the stages of problem solving, the most ability that mastered by students is the ablity of understand the problem and the least ability is the ability of check back the solution and expend the problem. The factors that caused students to experience difficulties in solving problems in multiplication operations, includes by the factors that cause errors in working on diagnostic test question, internal factors and external factors.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep matematika pada materi segibanyak serta mengetahui pemahaman siswa berdasarkan indikator pemahaman konsep pada materi segibanyak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V SD Negeri Licin. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tingkat pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep matematika pada materi segibanyak berada pada kategori sedang dengan persentase sebesar 58%. Pemahaman konsep matematika siswa dengan kategori pemahaman tinggi mampu menguasai semua indikator pemahaman konsep matematika dengan baik. Pemahaman konsep matematika siswa dengan kategori pemahaman sedang mampu menguasai empat indikator pemahaman konsep matematika dengan cukup baik. Pemahaman konsep matematika pada siswa dengan ketegori pemahaman rendah hanya mampu menguasai satu indikator pemahaman konsep matematika dengan baik yaitu pada indikator mengaplikasikan konsep atau algoritma pemecahan masalah. Adapun implikasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu agar guru lebih memperhatikan kemampuan pemahaman konsep setiap siswa agar menjadi lebih baik dan mencapai kategori pemahaman yang lebih tinggi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Siswa Dengan Menggunakan Newman Error Analysis Pada Materi Bangun Datar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV di SDN Cijambe 1. Teknik pengumpul data dan instrumen yang digunakan yaitu tes pemecahan masalah yang berkaitan dengan bangun datar dengan jenis tes uraian. Teknis analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hampir seluruhnya siswa yang sudah dapat membaca masalah (99,22%), hanya hampir setengahnya siswa yang sudah dapat memahami masalah (34,38%), sebagian besar siswa siswa yang sudah mampu dalam mentransformasikan masalah (60,94%), sebagian besar siswa yang sudah mampu dalam keterampilan proses diperoleh presentase 57,04% serta hampir seluruhnya siswa sudah mampu dalam penulisan akhir dengan presentase 82,82%.

Abstract

This research was based on the idea that the ability of mathematical representation and student learning independence was something that could be developed through good learning. One of the learning that was suitable to improve the ability of mathematical representation and student learning independence by using strategy of REACT. This research was a quasi-experimental research using  non equivalent control group design. The sample in this research were grade VB as experiment class and grade VA as control class. The instruments in this research include the test result of learning ability of mathematical representation, the scale of learning independence attitude, observation guidelines, student journal and field notes. The results of result with significance level = 0.05 (5%) showed that strategy of REACT can improve the ability of mathematical representation and student learning independenc. Strategy of REACT is also better than conventiona learning approach in improving mathematical representation and learning independence.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini ditujukan menumbuhkembangkan iklim, budaya, jiwa, dan aktivitas kewirausahaan mahasiswa serta mendorong terciptanya lulusan yang mandiri dan menjadi wirausahawan melaui program-program kewirausahaan mahasiswa. Subjek pengabdian ini yaitu mahasiswa PGSD UPI Kampus Sumedang. Adapun luaran dari pengabdian ini antara lain terwujudnya model pembinaan kewirausahaan yang efektif dalam menumbuhkembangkan iklim, budaya, jiwa, dan aktivitas kewirausahaan mahasiswa baik dari mulai penyusunan proposal, pengajuan proposal, sampai lolos didanai baik oleh kementerian ataupun universitas serta tindak lanjut dari kegiatan kewirausahaan mahasiswa.

Abstract

Abstrak Pengukuran adalah salah satu materi yang paling dasar pada pembelajaran Fisika. Dalam pengukuran terdapat materi konversi satuan yang biasanya dikaitkan dengan perhitungan yang melibatkan matematika sederhana dengan contoh soal dari kehidupan sehari-hari. Dalam makalah ini dijabarkan hasil dari penelitian deskriptif tentang analisis kesalahan peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan satu soal topik pengukuran yang berkaitan dengan konversi satuan. Kesalahan-kesalahan yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini dikategorikan berdasarkan penggolongan kesalahan pada Newman’s Error Analysis (NEA), terutama pada bagian reading error, comprehension error, process skill error, dan encoding error. Analisis kesalahan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi masukan bagi para tenaga pengajar materi pengukuran untuk memberikan perhatian lebih detail pada bagian-bagian kesalahan peserta didik yang mungkin selama ini sering terabaikan. Kata-kata kunci: analisis kesalahan, pengukuran, konversi satuan, Newman’s error analysis. Abstract Measurement is one of the primary topics in physics learning. In the topic of measurement, there is unit-conversion topic which usually involves pure mathematics with daily-life context problems. In this paper, the results of descriptive research about students’ error analysis in solving one problem about measurement related to the unit-conversion were elaborated. The errors found in this research were categorized based on Newman’s Error Analysis (NEA), especially for Reading Error, Comprehension Error, Process Skill Error, and Encoding Error. This error analysis was expected to act as input to the teachers who should teach about measurement so that they could be more aware of some details of students’ errors which all this time probably are often neglected. Keywords: error analysis, measurement, unit conversion, Newman’s error analysis.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan pada pentingnya meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dalam mempelajari matematika bagi siswa SD untuk mendukung kemampuan matematis selanjutnya. Untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa SD maka penelitian ini membahas tentang model pembelajaran flipped classroom dengan media video pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran flipped classroom dengan media video pembelajaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan nonequivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah SD Negeri di Kecamatan Sumedang Utara dengan total jumlah keseluruhannya yaitu 34 sekolah dan di Kecamatan Cimalaka dengan jumlah keseluruhannya yaitu 29 sekolah. Kelas IV di SDN Karangpawulang sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas IV di SDN Sukamaju sebagai kelas eksperimen. Jumlah subjek penelitian diambil 30 responden untuk kelas eksperimen dan 23 responden untuk kelas kontrol.  Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu soal pretes-postes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis, dengan teknik analisis uji normalitas, uji homogen dan uji beda rata-rata hasil nilai pretes dan postes serta nilai n-gain dari kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Dari hasil perlakuan terhadap siswa selama tiga pertemuan menunjukkan bahwa: Efektifitasnya pembelajaran yang menggunakan model pembelajaran flipped classroom dengan media video pembelajaran belum dapat dikatakan lebih baik dibandingkan pembelajaran yang menggunakan metode konvensional. Penggunaan metode pembelajaran yang efektif akan mendukung proses belajar siswa untuk memahami materi ajar.

Abstract

Low mathematical literacy is one of the causes of the lack of interest and motivation in learners. Mathematical literacy and realistic mathematical approaches have relevant characteristics. This research aims to develop memes as learning media with a realistic mathematical approach to develop mathematical literacy in elementary school students. The research consists of several steps, which are: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The methods used are descriptive, evaluative, and experimental with a pre-experimental design. The instruments used were expert validation questionnaires, student response questionnaires, teacher observation sheets, and evaluation assessments. The results obtained from material experts were 79% and 78% from media expert, both in the appropriate category. Assessments of mathematical content obtained the validation results from the material experts and media experts with scores of 79% and 78%; both belong to the decent category. In large-scale trials, the results of the student response questionnaire after learning obtained a score of 73% while the evaluation results obtained a score of 60%. The students' evaluation scores are evenly distributed from the lower limit of 25 to the upper limit of 95. Based on the results, it can be concluded that meme teaching media with a realistic mathematical approach develop students’ mathematical literacy even though it is not a high level.

Abstract

Geometry Ability is one of the mathematical abilities that must be mastered by students, this is because geometry ability is one part of learning mathematics. However, the reality in the field in junior high school students, students have difficulty in learning transformation geometry, namely in the material of reflection, rotation, translation and dilatation. This difficulty of students is caused by students not understanding the coordinate points on the cartesian plane. The difficulty of students in determining cartesian coordinates has the effect that students cannot determine straight-line drawings based on straight-line equations. Another thing that causes students difficulty in understanding the geometry of transformation is that students' ability to think abstractly is still very low, students cannot describe concepts from mirroring, turnover, shifting and dilatation. The purpose of this study is to understand the geometry of trasnsformas through the exploration of Jambi batik. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, the result of the research obtained is that there is a concept of transformation geometry in Batik Motik Jambi so that it can be applied in mathematics learning

Abstract

Ethnomathematics can be an option for teaching a more contextual mathematics which contributes to a successful mathematics learning. The present study highlighted ethnomathematics concepts that could be found in Sumedang’s local food, namely Sumedang Tofu, and the bamboo basket used as its container (bongsang).  Mathematical concepts in Sumedang Tofu and its bongsang are related to geometry. Geometry allows students to develop their abilities in presenting or describing the order in the world or their immediate environment. Geometry learning affects students’ ability to connect mathematical ideas, both in the discipline and to other disciplines as well as the real world. The results of this study show that Primary School students still had difficulties in learning and understanding geometry. Therefore, it was necessary to develop a method that would improve students’ understanding of geometrical concepts, which were important because they were highly relevant to students’ daily life. The present study aimed to explore geometrical concepts found in Sumedang tofu and bongsang. Descriptive qualitative approach was implemented, in which the data was gathered through observation, literature study, and interviews. The findings indicated that geometrical concepts could be found in Sumedang tofu and bongsang. Those concepts could be used in mathematics lessons in primary school to provide meaningful learning for students. The results of this study could be used as a foundation to develop an ethnomathematics learning in primary school level.
