Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the maxims of politeness of language used when communicating with lecturers via WhatsApp. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach method, data collection techniques, namely interviews and observations, other supporting data, namely screenshots of WhatsApp chats of students and lecturers. And using the word "sorry" to respect the interlocutor, sorry for disturbing his time, or disturbing his comfort, in the maxim of wisdom the speaker shows respect for the interlocutor, the maxim of appreciation shows respect for the opinion of the interlocutor, the maxim of generosity shows responsibility, the maxim of simplicity shows the humility and humility of the speaker, the maxim of agreement shows an agreement between lecturers and students, the maxim of sympathy, shows respect and sympathy for the interlocutor

Abstract

The research entitled "Analysis of Nias Regional Language Code Mixing in the Learning Process at Idanoi Private Junior High School" was conducted with the aim of finding out things related to code mixing that often occurs in the school environment in the delivery of information by students. The method used in this study is qualitative, using a descriptive approach in the form of written or spoken words from people and observed behavior. The data collection technique was produced from observations in the form of video recording documentation and audio recordings carried out at Idanoi Private Junior High School. The research was carried out in one meeting in which the researcher took a sample of 10 boys and 10 girls in class VII-A. After taking the sample, the researcher conducted a codemixing analysis and concluded when the teaching and learning process began. After conducting the research, the researcher learned that the code mixing that occurred in Idanoi Private Junior High School was influenced by several factors, including the community environment, social interactions, and the school environment itself

Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of student satisfaction with the facilities in Idanoi Private Junior High School. This research uses a qualitative method, a descriptive approach. In the research, the researcher used variables, namely student satisfaction and learning facilities so that information about it was obtained, then conclusions were drawn. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, observations, dissemination of questionnaires, and documentation. Data collection with data analysis, data collection is an integral part of data analysis activities. Data analysis is carried out qualitatively consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the data analysis show that the level of student satisfaction at Idanoi Private Junior High School is already satisfied, where the school has equipped all classroom facilities, Idanoi Private Junior High School in the classroom is included in the high criteria because the classroom is very adequate, free and has near-perfect completeness so that it can be used as a comfortable, neat and effective learning place

Abstract

This study is based on the difference in motivation when comparing the learning motivation of students who live in boarding houses with students who live with their parents, students who live with their parents have higher learning motivation compared to the learning motivation of living in boarding houses. This study aims to distinguish the motivation of students who live in boarding houses and students who live with their parents. This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The subjects used in this study are students from the University of Nias. The object of this research is student learning motivation. The data collection technique uses interviews and observations to students in the classroom. Primary data were obtained through observation and interviews, focusing on factors that affect learning motivation, such as independence, social support, and personal goals. Data analysis techniques use reduction, data presentation, and data verification.  The results showed significant differences in learning motivation between the two groups of students, which was driven by the context of their living environment. This research highlights the importance of these factors in supporting the student learning process in higher education.

Abstract

One of the responsibilities of parents as first adults is to educate children about their family environment, as children are usually around their mother and father when they are born. This research uses a qualitative approach. This study aims to analyze the influence of parental participation in school activities on student achievement. This research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The subjects used in this study are parents and students. The determination of the subject uses purposive techniques. The data collection technique used is interviews with parents and students. The data analysis used is qualitative data analysis consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study show that parental participation in school involves physical presence, learning support, collaboration with teachers, and involvement in important decisions for children's development. Parents' participation in school activities has a significant positive impact. Their involvement strengthens the school-family relationship, providing benefits for children's development in academic, social, and emotional aspects

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of habits and the use of regional languages in SMP Negeri 7 Idanogawo. This research is descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques in this study, interview and questionnaire techniques. Interviews were conducted with Indonesian language teachers at SMP Negeri 7 Idanogawo and questionnaires were given to 20 students in class VII-A at SMP Negeri 7 Idanogawo. The results of the study show that (1) the acquisition of regional languages by students to other students is more often used than Indonesian in school learning. (2) the impact of regional language learning on students provides positive and negative information. The positive impact of the use of regional languages in learning is that students who study at school use their mother tongue as the language of instruction, tend not to experience difficulties in participating in teaching and learning activities. Meanwhile, the negative impact of using regional languages is: it can make it difficult to use Indonesian in the learning process

Abstract

Character education has been carried out since ancient times, but in the long run it will be eroded by modernization and modernization is often lost. This condition is suspected to have originated from the growth of verbalistic culture from the learning process which tends to be limited to textual moral education. This attraction aims to find out the strengthening of character-based moral education. The type of research used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The subjects of the study were children, adolescents and young people who were exposed to the purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques consist of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The findings of this study, namely education to form morals (moral education), or education to develop character (character education), in the current context are very relevant to overcome the moral crisis that is currently hitting the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. Moral education is the cultivation, development, and formation of noble morals in a person. Moral education is a behavioral priority that must be implemented, fought, and habituated to by a person from childhood to adulthood. Character education is a form of human activity in which there are actions that educate and are intended for the next generation

Abstract

This study was conducted because of the growing use of slang among teenagers in Gunungsitoli. Its goal was to examine how social media influences the evolution of slang among these adolescents. Qualitative research was employed with a descriptive approach. The researcher acted as the main data collection instrument, aided by a camera, field notes, and writing materials. Data were gathered through observation and video recordings, and analysis involved data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results revealed that numerous words from formal Indonesian have been transformed into widely used slang among teenagers, with notable positive and negative implications

Abstract

This qualitative research aims to determine the type of Indonesian language errors found in the exit letter of the Sihare'o 1 Tabaloho Village Office. This study uses the manuscript of the exit letter of the Sihare'o 1 Tabaloho Village Office as a source of data. Data collection was carried out through observation and recording techniques, and data analysis was carried out through the listening method. The data analysis techniques used in this study are reduction and conclusion. The results of the analysis showed that there were several types of Indonesian language errors found in the letter issued by the Sihare'o 1 Tabaloho Village apparatus. These errors include capital errors, word errors, word separation errors, word usage errors, italics errors, and punctuation errors

Abstract

Improving the quality of schools requires various strategies. One of the things that affects students' academic and non-academic abilities is influenced by the strategies used by the principal. The purpose of this research is to find out what are the school strategies in improving students' abilities in the academic and non-academic fields. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The data source used in this study is primary data. The subjects in this study are school principals, teachers, and students. Meanwhile, the object of this study is the analysis of school strategies in improving student achievement. The instruments used in this study are questionnaires for students and interview sheets. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of the data analysis showed that school strategies had a positive effect on the development of potential in students, both in the academic and non-academic fields. This is evidenced by the average score of the questionnaire which reached 91.8. The findings of this research are to improve student achievement in the academic and non-academic fields can be done by making policies, programs and activities adjusted to the vision, mission and goals of the school as a basis in determining strategies that can be implemented by all students, as well as utilizing various appropriate media and learning methods so that students are able to be motivated to learn
