Abstract

Moral degradation di kalangan remaja menjadi persoalan serius dalam dunia pendidikan Indonesia, dipicu oleh arus globalisasi dan penetrasi digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pelaksanaan, efektivitas, serta faktor pendukung dan penghambat kegiatan ekstrakurikuler Gerakan Pramuka dalam pembentukan moral peserta didik di SMPN 46 Pekanbaru. Pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif digunakan dengan pengumpulan data melalui in-depth interview, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi terhadap peserta didik, pembina pramuka, dan guru yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Analisis data mengacu pada model interaktif Miles dan Huberman dengan triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pramuka dilaksanakan secara sistematis melalui latihan rutin, pioneering, dan kegiatan kelompok yang mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai Dasa Dharma. Peserta didik mengalami perubahan perilaku nyata, meliputi peningkatan kedisiplinan, tanggung jawab, kepedulian sosial, dan kerja sama, yang termanifestasi secara spontan di luar konteks latihan. Kompetensi pembina dan motivasi intrinsik peserta menjadi faktor pendukung dominan, sedangkan keterbatasan frekuensi latihan dan lemahnya penguatan nilai dalam keluarga menjadi penghambat utama. Kegiatan ekstrakurikuler pramuka terbukti efektif sebagai medium moral education yang terstruktur di jenjang pendidikan menengah pertama.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing the debate learning method on the learning participation of Grade X students at State Senior High School 7 Pekanbaru in the Pancasila Education subject. The low level of students' active participation is caused by the dominance of conventional teacher-centered learning methods that became the main background for conducting this study. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a non-equivalent control group design. The sample consist of two classes with a total of 70 students equally divided into an experimental class (X.6, n=35), which used the debate method, and a control class (X.4, n=35), which used conventional methods. Data were collected through questionnaires and observation sheets assessing teacher and student activities. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive and inferential statistical tests in the form of an independent t-test, assisted by IBM SPSS Statistics 25. The results of the hypothesis test in the second meeting showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.031 (sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05), leading to the rejection of    and acceptance of   , which indicating a significant difference in learning participation between the two data groups. The effectiveness of the treatment was further supported by an effect size value (Cohen's d) of 0.527, which falls into the medium effect category. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the debate learning method has a significant positive effect on increasing students’ learning participation in the subject of Pancasila education.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the application of students' critical thinking skills in learning using the deep learning approach at SMP Negeri 1 Pekanbaru. The background of this study is based on the need to develop critical thinking skills, which are one of the important skills in the 21st century that students must have. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach through literature studies and interviews. Data were collected from various relevant reading sources and through direct interviews with teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Pekanbaru. The research findings indicate that the application of deep learning is carried out through the use of technology in the learning process, as well as the application of Inquiry Learning, Problem Based Learning (PBL), Project Based Learning (PjBL), and Discovery Learning models, and creates an active, collaborative, and student-focused learning atmosphere. This approach encourages students to be more active in asking questions, discussing, analyzing data, solving problems, and relating learning materials to everyday life. In addition, the success of the implementation of deep learning is highly dependent on the teacher's ability to choose the right learning strategies and integrate technology efficiently. Therefore, the deep learning approach has been proven to be an effective alternative in improving students' critical thinking skills through learning methods that are meaningful, fun, and focused on developing higher-order thinking skills.

Abstract

Vandalism is one of the negative behaviors still found in some school environments; it causes damage to facilities and disrupts the learning process. This study aims to identify the types of vandalism that occur in schools, the factors that cause them, and the preventive measures that can be implemented. This study employs a qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation at MAN 4 Pekanbaru. The findings of the study indicate that the most common forms of vandalism are scribbling on desks, chairs, and classroom walls, as well as damaging other school facilities. Factors influencing these actions include the social environment, family circumstances, a lack of supervision from school authorities, and students’ desire to gain recognition from their peers. To prevent vandalism, it is necessary to enhance character education, provide guidance on school regulations, enforce sanctions, and implement positive activities that channel students’ creativity. This study emphasizes that collaboration between the school, parents, and the surrounding community is crucial for reducing acts of vandalism and creating a neat and supportive learning environment.

Abstract

Campus environmental cleanliness is an important factor in creating a healthy, comfortable, and conducive learning environment. However, waste management remains a challenge in higher education institutions due to the high volume of waste generated by academic and non-academic activities. This study aims to analyze the level of environmental awareness among students of the Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn) Study Program at the University of Riau and to identify efforts to enhance students' participation in maintaining campus cleanliness. This research employed a qualitative approach using semi-structured interviews with students as the primary data source. The findings reveal that cleanliness facilities within the PPKn Study Program are generally adequate, including the availability of waste bins and cleaning staff responsible for maintaining the campus environment. In addition, the PPKn Student Association has implemented several environmental programs, such as community clean-up activities, environmental campaigns, and the promotion of reusable tumblers to reduce single-use plastic waste. Despite these efforts, some students still dispose of waste improperly and show limited participation in environmental cleanliness activities. This indicates that campus cleanliness is influenced not only by the availability of facilities but also by students’ awareness, discipline, and sense of responsibility. Therefore, continuous environmental education, socialization programs, and active involvement of the academic community are necessary to strengthen environmental awareness and foster responsible behavior. Students are expected to play an active role in creating a clean, healthy, and sustainable campus environment.

Abstract

Co-curricular activities are an integral part of curriculum implementation aimed at enriching students' learning experiences through activities integrated with classroom learning. This study analyzes the implementation of co-curricular activities at SMP YLPI-P Marpoyan Pekanbaru, focusing on their objectives, benefits, implementation strategies, and challenges. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using observation and interviews as data collection techniques. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that co-curricular activities provide meaningful learning experiences and contribute to the development of students' character, including responsibility, social awareness, collaboration, and critical thinking skills. The activities are implemented through collaborative planning involving coordinators and teachers using a scheduled blocking system. Initial implementation challenges were addressed through coordination, evaluation, and adherence to educational guidelines. Therefore, co-curricular activities play an important role in supporting the holistic development of students' competencies and character.

Abstract

This study aims to describe teachers’ perceptions of the use of teaching modules in the learning process at SMP Negeri 18 Pekanbaru. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with teachers who were directly involved in the development and implementation of teaching modules. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that teachers generally have positive perceptions of the use of teaching modules in the learning process. Teaching modules are perceived as helpful in aligning learning activities with learning objectives, instructional materials, and students’ needs. In addition, the use of teaching modules contributes to teachers’ understanding of students’ individual needs and encourages greater student participation in classroom learning. However, several challenges remain, including limited supporting facilities, large class sizes, and the uneven distribution of training and socialization regarding the use of teaching modules. Teachers also expressed the need for enhanced training opportunities and stronger support from schools, parents, and educational authorities to optimize the implementation of teaching modules.

Abstract

Moral decline or what is commonly called moral degradation in junior high school students has become a serious challenge in the world of education in Indonesia. With education, people can gain knowledge and skills and understand moral and ethical values in everyday life. However, in reality, in the current era, many students are still involved in cases of moral degradation. Various efforts have been made by guidance and counseling teachers to prevent and overcome the moral degradation of students at SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru. This study aims to analyze and describe the role of teachers in overcoming the moral degradation of students at SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used by researchers are interviews and documentation. The information we obtained from guidance and counseling teachers and 6 students from grades VII, VIII, XI. The results of the study made in iterkat guidance and counseling teachers’ efforts in overcoming moral degradation at SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru, teachers have made efforts, including: 1) creating a weekly education program of manners and morals. 2) implementing the 5S habit (greeting, greeting, smiling, polite, courteous). 3) not allowing students to bring cell phones to school. 4) providing consultation to students experiencing moral degradation
