Abstract

Self-confidence and self-image are pivotal for students’ academic engagement, persistence, and psychosocial adjustment, yet scalable classroom formats that directly strengthen these self-evaluative processes remain limited in vocational high schools. This study aimed to test the effectiveness of a brief, counselor-led, self-love–based classroom guidance module in improving self-confidence and self-image among Grade-10 students. Using a quantitative pretest–posttest control group design, two intact classes (N = 34) from an Indonesian vocational school were allocated as experimental (four sessions of self-love guidance integrating acceptance, compassionate self-talk, and mastery planning) or control (guidance-as-usual). Instruments demonstrated adequate psychometrics (item–total r = .492–.636; α = .88). The experimental group showed a large gain from pretest to posttest (M = 75.12 to 86.59; SD = 7.77 to 2.67; t(16) = –6.263, p < .001), while the control group improved modestly (M = 71.88 to 73.94; t(16) = –2.764, p = .014). Between-group effects on gains were very large (Cohen’s d = 1.61; Hedges’ g = 1.57). We conclude that a concise, classroom-deliverable self-love module can substantively elevate students’ self-confidence and self-image and reduce within-class variability, indicating convergence on adaptive coping scripts. Practically, schools can embed 10–15 minute micro-practices (reflective journaling, compassionate self-talk, if–then plans) within guidance periods without disrupting timetables. Future studies should employ larger, multi-site samples, follow-up assessments for maintenance, and mediational analyses (e.g., script internalization, self-criticism reduction) to clarify mechanisms and boundary conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to examine EFL learners’ perception toward the application of Orai App in CLL method in teaching speaking. The study employed likert-scale questionnaires to enable researchers to collect massive data. The total of 24 first year students of a private university in East Java – Indonesia, comprising of 5 male and 19 female students participated in this study. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistic by finding out the total score per item. The results of this study illustrated that Orai application helps students alleviate the fear of speaking. It can also help students in increasing their speaking ability on the aspects of pronunciation, intonation as well as the speaking speed. Based on the data analysis, CLL method assisted by Orai application is strongly recommended to be used to assist the students to be better speaker.

Abstract

This article discusses the sustainability of the mushroom cultivation business in Beruk Village, Jatiyoso District, Karanganyar Regency. This research focuses on three variables, namely entrepreneurial literacy, digital literacy, and business sustainability. This study uses qualitative methods and direct observation of the subject with interview-based data collection which is then examined using a qualitative approach technique. The results of this study indicate that entrepreneurial literacy and digital literacy in mushroom cultivation business actors in Beruk Village, Jatiyoso District, Karanganyar Regency can be categorized as quite good because the mushroom cultivation business actors already have an understanding of the business being established. Meanwhile, business continuity shows that the mushroom cultivation business is quite good because it can develop well

Abstract

This study explores the role of the school library in enhancing students’ reading interest. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation to examine library activities, reading habits, and available collections. Findings reveal that the library plays a significant role in promoting reading culture, though its function is not yet optimal due to limited space, a lack of updated collections, and librarians’ multiple responsibilities. Despite these constraints, the library remains an essential learning resource for students who demonstrate consistent reading habits. Factors that most influence students’ reading interest include collection diversity, room comfort, regular literacy programs, and support from teachers and librarians. Challenges such as competition with gadgets and limited book variety can be addressed through new acquisitions, donation programs, and digital resource utilization. Overall, well-managed libraries supported by all school elements effectively foster students’ reading culture. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran perpustakaan sekolah dalam meningkatkan minat baca siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi untuk mengetahui aktivitas perpustakaan, kebiasaan membaca siswa, serta koleksi yang tersedia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perpustakaan memiliki peran penting dalam menumbuhkan budaya membaca, meskipun fungsinya belum optimal karena keterbatasan ruang, koleksi buku yang kurang mutakhir, dan tugas ganda pustakawan. Meskipun demikian, perpustakaan tetap menjadi sumber belajar utama bagi siswa yang memiliki kebiasaan membaca secara konsisten. Faktor yang paling berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan minat baca antara lain keberagaman koleksi, kenyamanan ruang, kegiatan literasi rutin, serta dukungan guru dan pustakawan. Hambatan seperti persaingan dengan gawai dan keterbatasan koleksi dapat diatasi melalui pengadaan buku baru, program donasi, serta pemanfaatan sumber digital. Secara keseluruhan, perpustakaan yang dikelola dengan baik dan mendapat dukungan seluruh elemen sekolah mampu menumbuhkan budaya membaca di kalangan siswa.

Abstract

One proof of the development of information and communication technology is the creation of smartphones. However, using smartphones has both positive and negative effects. One of the negative impacts of using smartphones, such as smartphone addiction, which has an impact on physical health, also has an impact on psychological and mental health in the form of loneliness, anxiety, stress, depression, life satisfaction, and environmental relations. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of smartphone addiction among pre-clinical students at the Faculty of Medicine, University Halu Oleo Kendari. Research design descriptive. The research was conducted at the Faculty of Medicine, Halu Oleo University, on April 6–11, 2023. The sample was 83 students from the Faculty of Medicine at Halu Oleo University. Sample Obtained using stratified random sampling techniques. Data was obtained using the Smartphone Addiction Scale (SAS) questionnaire. Data processed with SPSS, is displayed in the frequency distribution table. The results of the study found smartphone addiction among students at the Faculty of Medicine, Halu Oleo University, with a low addiction level. The highest number is between 17-19 years. There are more women than men. It was concluded that the level of smartphone addiction among students of the Faculty of Medicine at Halu Oleo University was in the mild category. Most occurrences are in women, aged 17–19 years. Influence factors of smartphone addiction include a high desire to explore new things in information and technology.

Abstract

The skill of reading the Qur'an is very important for humans, especially Muslims, being skilled in reading the Qur'an is of course very important, therefore the researcher provides the application of the At-Tanzil method to students so that children's Al-Qur'an reading skills are even better. therefore the purpose of this study is to describe: 1) To find out the application of the At-Tanzil method juz 1 and 2 in improving Al-Qur'an reading skills. 2) To determine student achievement in applying the At-Tanzil Method juz 1 and 2 in improving Al-Qur'an reading skills, the method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method, research data obtained using observation, interview and documentation techniques. The objects of research are school principals, teachers and parents of RA Mambaul Hikmah students. Data analysis is done by compiling data; connecting data, reducing, presenting data, then concluding Data validity assurance techniques are based on four categories, namely: credibility test (trust), transferability (transferability), dependability (dependency) and confirmability (certainty), tested by triangulation. and on the results of the study using two findings, namely the first implementation (planning, implementation, and evaluation), the second, namely the achievements achieved by children

Abstract

Budaya Aceh jarang diangkat dalam film. Untuk itu, penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kebutuhan pembuatan film nonfiksi kreatif bertema budaya Aceh sebagai media pembelajaran sastra di SMA Kabupaten Aceh Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan menurut Alessi & Trollip Fokus pengembangan berada pada tahap perencanaan, di mana analisis kebutuhan awal dilakukan untuk memahami persyaratan esensial dalam pengembangan film ini sebagai media pembelajaran. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner yang disebar pada tiga puluh satu guru bahasa Indonesia di SMA Kabupaten Aceh Selatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan mayoritas responden (77.4%) menganggap pengetahuan tentang budaya Aceh sangat penting untuk diajarkan melalui sastra. Selain itu, sebagian besar responden (83.9%) setuju bahwa film nonfiksi kreatif dapat meningkatkan motivasi siswa dalam pembelajaran sastra.

Abstract

Adolescent with chronic illness such as thalassemia can increase the risk of behavioral changes. The purpose of this study is to identify the risk of behavioral changes in adolescents with thalassemia such as anxiety, social problem and attention deficits. This study used cross sectional. Respondent consist of 43 adolescent (12-18 years old) and their parents to filled questionnaire about the related factors, anxiety, social problem, and attention deficits in thalassemia. The results shown that male adolescent have a risk to experience anxiety problem (OR 2,5), social problem (OR 1,264), and attention deficits (OR 1,185). Adolescents with Jawa and the other ethnic have a risk to experience anxiety problem (OR 0,001), social problem (0,001 and 0,365), and attention deficits (1,338 and 0,501). Another factor such as multitranfusion more than 5 years have a risk to experience anxiety problem (OR 0,001), low parent’s support with social problem (0,042), and low or middle of mother education increase attention deficits risk until 3,763 and 1,338. Nurses responsible to solve behavioral problem with current nursing intervention to prevent low quality of live in adult with thalassemia

Abstract

Pain is a discomfort sensational that felt by hospitalized neonates. The study use case study design of four babies who hospitalized in perinatology unit in RSAB Harapan Kita and Cipto Mangunkusumo hospital. The purpose of this case study is to analyze the fulfill comfort of neonates with NNS and extremities massage based on Levine Conservation Model application. The results is decrease neonates pain score with PIPP (Premature Infant Pain Profile), decrease in oxygen saturation changes, and heart rate changes in infants with invasive procedures. Although the fourth baby, no changes in pain scores with massage intervention extremities. Application of Levine Conservation Model in infants acute pain support for energy conservation, structural integrity, personal integrity, and social integrity. The study of pain management for neonates need to always be developed for support neonatal growth and development optimally.

Abstract

The establishment of paralegal authority in providing legal aid based on Law no. 16 of 2011 concerning legal aid at the Indonesian legal aid and human rights association, South Sulawesi, the purpose of this study is to determine the authority of paralegals according to law no. 16 of 2011 and its implementation in providing legal assistance to the community. Because it is not uncommon for errors to be made when handling a case without appropriate legal provisions or there are regulations that are violated in handling a case, this type of research is a qualitative descriptive research field. This study was conducted to collect a number of data obtained from field informants to find various facts or social phenomena, all of which analyzed and attempted to theorize based on what was observed. The location of the research was carried out, the office of the law and human rights association in South-Sulawesi. In carrying out the authority in providing legal aid, the community can get assistance and ensure that a fair law is created in handling a case and there is no violation of the law in the case process that often occurs in the community.
