Abstract

Adolescent alcohol consumption remains a critical public health concern, influenced by peer dynamics, social media exposure, and socioeconomic factors. This study examines the role of these variables in shaping adolescent drinking behaviors and explores the effectiveness of regulatory policies in mitigating alcohol-related risks. A systematic literature review was conducted, analyzing studies from PubMed, Psyc, Scopus, and other academic databases. Findings reveal that peer influence significantly contributes to adolescent alcohol use, while social media platforms act as both a risk factor and a potential tool for intervention. Cross-national comparisons highlight the effectiveness of strict alcohol regulations, such as higher taxation and sales restrictions, in reducing underage drinking rates. Furthermore, socioeconomic disparities impact adolescent exposure to alcohol marketing and accessibility, necessitating targeted policy interventions. The study underscores the urgent need for comprehensive policies addressing both environmental and social determinants of adolescent alcohol use. Strategies should include stricter advertising regulations, digital health interventions, and community-based prevention programs. Future research should focus on longitudinal studies assessing the long-term effects of adolescent alcohol consumption, as well as innovative intervention methods leveraging social media platforms. By addressing these gaps, policymakers and public health professionals can develop more effective strategies to mitigate adolescent drinking behaviors and reduce long-term health risks.

Abstract

Data from the International Labor Organization (ILO) shows that every day, there are around 6,000 fatal work accidents in the world, and more than 160 million workers become ill due to hazards/unsafe actions in the workplace. This is influenced by unsuitable tools and safety equipment that do not meet standards. Unsafe actions are actions that can endanger the workers themselves, such as operating machinery without proper training, not using personal protective equipment, or working in unsafe conditions. This study aims to determine the factors related to these unsafe actions in production workers at PDAM Ratulangi, Makassar City, in 2023. The type of research is quantitative research using the cross-sectional study method. The study population was all production workers at PDAM Ratulangi, Makassar City, with as many as 43 people and a sample of 43 people using the total Sampling method. Data was taken using a questionnaire and then analyzed using the chi-square test. From the research results, it was obtained that there was a relationship between supervision and unsafe actions in production workers at PDAM Ratulangi, Makassar City, in 2023, namely (p = 0.000 <α = 0.05). The conclusion is that supervision has a significant relationship with unsafe acts. The suggestion is to suggest that companies provide proper supervision so that workers work safely and provide sanctions or penalties for not complying with regulations so that they can foster motivation to work safely.

Abstract

One of the vital human resources (HR) in a hospital is related to its health workers, especially nurses. This is because the total need for nurses is the most significant proportion in a hospital compared to other health workers. Half of the number of nurses in Indonesia experience stress due to work. The impact is the behavior of nurses who are often late due to workload stress, and many of them take leave due to health problems. This study aims to determine the effect of job satisfaction on nurse performance in the Inpatient Installation of Sinjai Hospital. The type of research used in this study is quantitative research, which requires an approach to research proposals, processes, hypotheses, observations, data analysis, and conclusions, which are obtained through various measurement factors and the certainty of numerical data. The sampling technique is the same number of samples as the population. The population of this study was all nurses in the Inpatient Installation of Sinjai Hospital, totaling 108 nurses. Data was obtained through a questionnaire. The analysis method applied was univariate and bivariate analysis through the chi-square test. This study's results indicate an influence of Incentives on nurse performance (p-value = 0.036 > 0.05%). There is no influence of promotion on nurse performance (p-value = 0.179 <0.05%). Supervision influences nurse performance (p-value = 0.000 > 0.05%). The work influences nurse performance (p-value = 0.001 > 0.05%). Abstract

Background: The discharge process for inpatients is a critical component of hospital service systems, impacting operational efficiency and service quality. Inefficiencies in this phase can lead to wasted time, reduced patient satisfaction, and workflow disruptions between service units. Objective: This study aims to identify and analyze forms of waste in the discharge process of inpatients at Wihdatul Ummah Medical Center using the Lean Thinking approach. Method: This study used a qualitative descriptive design with data collection techniques through observation, document study, and in-depth interviews with 11 informants, consisting of clinic directors, doctors in charge of patients (DPJP), ward heads, nurses, administrative staff, pharmacy staff, and patients' families. Results: It was found that the discharge process did not have a well-documented and socialized written SOP. This resulted in wasted time in the form of motion waste for BPJS patients (due to physical transfers between service units) and waiting waste for non-BPJS patients (due to delays in administrative processing and medication reconciliation). The root causes include weak inter-unit coordination, manual work processes, lack of integrated information systems, and insufficient education for patients and their families. Conclusion: The study recommends the appointment of Point of Service (POS) officers, the use of discharge preparation lists, strengthening patient education, implementing visual management, and developing and implementing discharge SOPs. These efforts are expected to reduce time wastage, speed up the discharge process, and improve service quality and patient satisfaction.

Abstract

Stunting, or short stature, is a nutritional status based on the height-for-age (W/A) index with a z-score of less than -2 SD (Standard Deviation). Stunting is not only a problem of impaired physical growth but also makes children susceptible to illness. In addition, brain development and intelligence are also impaired. Therefore, stunting is a major threat to the quality of human resources in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of stunting in children aged 24-59 months at the Maiwa District Health Center, Enrekang Regency. The study is an analytical observational study with a quantitative approach using a cross-sectional study. The population in this study was toddlers aged 24-59 months. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The data analysis method used was bivariate analysis with the chi-square test. The results of this study obtained maternal knowledge, maternal MUAC (mid-upper arm circumference) during pregnancy, LBW, birth length did not have a significant relationship with the incidence of stunting where ρ = 0.072, ρ = 0.093, ρ = 0.082, ρ = 0.119 means ρ> 0.05, and a history of infectious diseases had a significant relationship with the incidence of stunting where ρ = 0.024 means ρ <0.05. It can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between knowledge, maternal LILA during pregnancy, LBW, and birth length with the incidence of stunting, so Ha is rejected. And there is a significant relationship between the history of infectious diseases and the incidence of stunting, so Ha is accepted.
