Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in participating in science learning in class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Nunukan Selatan. This study uses a Problem Based Learning learning model and is carried out in 3 cycles. Data collection techniques were carried out with tests and non-tests, with data collection tools in the form of student activity observation sheets and final test sheets for each cycle. The procedures for implementing this research include: (1) planning, (2) implementing actions, (3) observing, and (4) reflecting in each cycle. The technique of observing student activity sheets showed that there was an increase in student learning outcomes from cycle I to cycle II and from cycle II to cycle III. The percentage of complete learning outcomes in the first cycle is 67%. Cycle II to 75% and cycle III to 85%. The results of the research above prove that the Problem Based Learning learning model can improve science learning outcomes for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Nunukan Selatan.

Abstract

This research aims to find out: 1) The level of learning outcomes of students in class VIII SMP Negeri 6 Makassar before and after being taught using the DSI model on vibration, wave and sound material 2) The level of learning outcomes of students of grade VIII SMP Negeri 6 Makassar before and after being taught using the Structured Inquiry model on vibration, wave and sound material 3) The increase in learning outcomes of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Makassar after being taught using the DSI model on vibration, wave and sound material 4) The effect of using the DSI model on the learning outcomes of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Makassar on the material of vibrations, waves and sound. This type of research is Quasi Experiment research with a research design using Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population is all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 6 Makassar consisting of 11 classes with a total of 373 students. Samples were selected by Purposive Sampling, with 2 classes, namely class VIII.A as an experimental class totaling 26 people and class VIII.E totaling 27 people as a control class.  The research instrument is in the form of a test question on student learning outcomes. Data collection was done by giving Pretest and Posttest. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis so that it was found that: 1) The level of learning outcomes of students before being taught with the DSI model is in the low category. While the category of student learning outcomes after being taught with the DSI model is in the high category with an average score of 14.3. 2) The level of student learning outcomes before being taught with the Structured Inquiry model is in the low category. While the category of student learning outcomes after being taught with the Structured Inquiry model is in the high category with an average score of 13.3.

Abstract

This research was Research and Development aiming to produce Student Worksheet based on valid, practical, and effective science-process skills. This research used 4D Thiagarajan model.  From the research results, it is showed that testing on experts indicate that the average of LKPD device score is valid with validity content of 1. It means that the developed LKPD is feasible in conceptually. Next, the percentage of LKPD  practicality assessment results by educators shows very positive criteria with percentage 98%, it means that the educators can use the LKPD to be applied in learning process, as well as the percentage of learners’ responses on the developed LKPD shows very positive criteria with percentage of 96%, it means that the learners respond positively on the developed LKPD. Furthermore, the percentage of LKPD effectiveness assessment results as measured by science process skills assessed from N-gain result is 81.82% classified into medium category. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the integrated LKPD of natural science based on developed science process skills satisfies validity, practicality, and effectiveness criteria.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative descriptive survey research that aims to describe the problem-solving abilities of class VIII students of SMPN 18 Makassar for the 2022/2023 academic year in the material of vibrations, waves, and sound. The population in this study were all class VIII students at SMP Negeri 18 Makassar in the 2022/2023 academic year consisting of 10 classes with a total of 267 students. The sampling technique used by researchers is a purposive sampling technique in which the sampling technique is carried out according to the wishes of the researcher with the consideration that is looking at the average value of learning outcomes. In this study, the sample used was 1 class, namely class VIII 8 with a total of 24 students. The research instrument was in the form of problem solving ability test questions. Data collection was carried out by giving students a problem-solving ability test which was made in the form of an essay of 10 questions. The results of the study show the problem solving abilities of class VIII students at SMPN 18 Makassar; (1) on the indicator of understanding the problem in the "medium" category, (2) on the indicator of strategic planning in the "moderate" category, (2) on the indicator of implementing the strategy in the "moderate" category, (3) on the indicator of re-checking in the "low" category.

Abstract

This research aims to determine: (1) the levels of science process skills students of SMP grade-IX in Tamalate District and (2) description of science process skills students of SMP grade-IX in Tamalate District. The research method is descriptive quantitative with descriptive survey research design. The population in this research were 1,677 students from 5 schools with A accredited namely SMPN 15 Makassar, SMPN 18 Makassar, SMPN 24 Makassar, SMPN 26 Makassar and SMPN 27 Makassar with selected samples using the Slovin Formula by Random Class Sampling so that a sample of 413 students was obtained. The research instrument is a test of science process skills in the form of multiple choice as many as 24 questions that have been validated by experts. Data collection techniques in this research is multiple choice tests scored 1 for correct answers and 0 for wrong answers. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that: (1) the level of science process skills students grade-IX of SMPN in Tamalate District at the enough category with the average score of 12.09 by 50.8% and (2) description of science process skills students grade-IX of SMPN in Tamalate District on observing indicators 58% (Good), classifying indicators 53, 35% (Enough), predicting indicators 52.13% (Enough), communicating indicators 58.03% (Good), makes a hypothesis indicators of 50.04% (Enough), the indicator determining the variable 40.76% (Low) and the indicator designs the experiment 34.43% (Low) and on concluding indicators 52% (Enough).

Abstract

This study aims to determine 1) The level of science process skills scores of students taught using the Learning Cycle 7E learning model and conventional learning model, 2) The increase in the score of science process skills of students taught using the Learning Cycle 7E learning model and conventional learning model, 3) The effect of using the Learning Cycle 7E learning model on students' science process skills. This research is a Quasi-Experiment using the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population of all students in class VIII SMP Negeri 13 Makassar consisting of 11 classes totaling 343 students, the sample was selected by purposive sampling with 2 classes, namely class VIII I as an experimental class with 28 students and class VIII J as a control class with 27 students. Data collection is done by giving Pretest and Posttest. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of the analysis showed that 1) The level of science process skills of students taught using the Learning Cycle 7E teaching model is in the high category with an average score of 13.00 and the conventional learning model is in the medium category with an average score of 10.53, 2) The improvement of students' science process skills after being taught using the Learning Cycle 7E learning model is in the medium category with an average N-Gain score of 0.51 and the conventional model with an average N-Gain score of 0.29 is in the low category, 3) There is an effect of using the Learning Cycle 7E learning model on the science process skills of students in class VIII SMP Negeri 13 Makassar with the results of hypothesis testing, where tcount = 3.16> ttable = 1.67.

Abstract

This research aims to determine: (1) students' science learning outcomes scores before and after being taught using the TGT type cooperative learning model, (2) students' science learning outcomes scores before and after being taught using the direct learning model, (3) improvement in learning outcomes Science students are taught using the TGT type Cooperative Learning model and classes taught using the direct learning model, (4) the influence of the TGT type cooperative learning model on students' science learning outcomes. This type of research is Quasi Experimental Design research and Pretest-Posttest Non-Equivalent Control Group research design. The sample was selected by purposive sampling and obtained class VII C and class VII D with a total of 33 students each. The research instrument is in the form of learning outcome test questions. Data collection techniques are pretest and posttest. The data were analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics The research results show that: (1) the students' science learning results before and after being taught using the TGT type cooperative learning model, namely in the pretest, an average score was obtained of 2.84 and the posttest learning result score obtained an average score of 7.07. (2) students' science learning results before and after being taught using the direct learning model, namely in the pretest the average score was 2.47 and the posttest learning results obtained an average score of 4.56. (3) the increase in science learning outcomes for class VII students at SMPN 1 Mangarabombang Takalar who were taught using the TGT type cooperative learning model experienced an increase with an N-Gain result of 0.61 which indicates the medium category. Meanwhile, learning outcomes taught using the direct learning model have increased with an N-Gain result of 0.23 which indicates the low category, (4) there is an influence of the TGT type Cooperative learning model on improving the learning outcomes of class VII students at SMPN 1 Mangarabombang Takalar.

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) knowing the level of problem solving skills of students after using problem based learning model in class VIII SMPN 2 Mattiro Bulu, (2) knowing the level of problem solving skills of students after using conventional learning model in class VIII SMPN 2 Mattiro Bulu and, (3) knowing the problem solving skills of students who are using the Problem Based Learning model are higher than the problem solving skills of students who are using the Direct Learning model in class VIII of SMPN 2 Mattiro Bulu. The population is class VIII SMPN 2 Mattiro Bulu consisted of 5 classes with 80 students. Taking technique of sample is random sampling. The research sample consist of two classes, namely class VIII.1 as a experiment class with 15 students and class VIII.5 as a control class with 15 students. The data were gathered by testing the students’ problem solving skill which were analyzed by using t-test. Results of descriptive statistical analysis of problem solving skills of students using problem based learning model be the high category, while the direct learning model is in the category of medium. Results of inferential statistical analysis were ttable=2,86 ttable=2,04. Based on the results of the research Problem Based Learning (PBL) model be in the high compared the conventional learning model in the category of medium which means the problem based learning model affects to IPA Problem Solving Skill on Students ClassVIII SMPN 2 Mattiro Bulu on the subject matter of vibrations waves and sounds.

Abstract

This research aims to determine: (1) The level of critical thinking skills of class VII students at State Middle Schools in Pattallassang District, Takalar Regency, and (2) Description of the critical thinking skills of class VII students at State Middle Schools in Pattallassang District, Takalar Regency. The research method used is quantitative descriptive. The population of this study were students in class VII of SMPN in Pattallassang District, Takalar Regency, namely SMPN 1 Takalar and SMPN 2 Takalar. The sampling technique used was random sampling technique so that from a population of 587 a sample of 250 students was obtained. The research instrument used was a test of 20 questions in multiple choice form. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that: (1) the level of critical thinking skills of class VII students at State Middle Schools in Pattallassang District, Takalar Regency is 56.5, which is in the sufficient category; (2) The critical thinking skills of students in class VII of State Middle Schools in Pattallassang District, Takalar Regency when giving a simple explanation are in the sufficient category with a percent value of 51%, the indicator for building basic skills is in the sufficient category with a percent value of 55.6%, concluded is in the sufficient category with a percent value of 50.8%, providing further explanation is in the sufficient category at 57.1% and the indicator for managing strategies and tactics is in the high category with a percent value of 66.7%. Students' critical thinking skills need to be improved and trained again, creative and innovative learning methods will influence students' enthusiasm for learning and also influence students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Household wastewater containing detergent residues is a major source of aquatic pollution due to synthetic surfactants, particularly Linear Alkylbenzene Sulfonate (LAS) and Alkyl Sulfate (AS), which are toxic and resistant to natural degradation. Bioremediation using indigenous microorganisms offers an environmentally friendly and cost-effective alternative for degrading these pollutants. This narrative review evaluated the potential of indigenous microorganisms for biodegradation of household detergent residues and their prospects for aquatic bioremediation. Literature was systematically collected from Google Scholar, PubMed, and Scopus, including primary research articles published in Indonesian or English between 2018 and 2025. Twenty eligible studies were analyzed. The findings showed that Pseudomonas, Bacillus, Acinetobacter, Aeromonas, and Corynebacterium were the most frequently reported indigenous bacteria capable of degrading detergent surfactants and related organic compounds, with degradation efficiencies ranging from 7.7% to 100%, depending on microbial characteristics, substrate type, and environmental conditions. Bacterial consortia and biofilm-based systems consistently achieved higher degradation efficiencies than single isolates. Biodegradation primarily involves extracellular enzymes, including monooxygenases, sulfo-transferases, and amidases, which convert surfactants into less harmful compounds. Despite most studies being limited to laboratory-scale experiments, indigenous microorganisms demonstrate strong potential as sustainable bioremediation agents. Future research should focus on consortium optimization, molecular characterization, and field-scale validation to improve practical implementation in aquatic environments.
