Abstract

Background: Post caesarean section mothers commonly feel pain in the post-operative area during the wound healing process. Most post-operative mothers feel the pain sensation as a disturbance and lowering their quality of sleep.Purpose: To determine pain level and identify the relationship of pain level and sleep quality among mothers who delivered by caesarean section under spinal anaesthesia.Method: The descriptive non-experimental correlative study design identified 50 mothers from Inpatient Ward  Wava Husada Hospital of Kepanjen, Malang, East Java, Indonesia at April 2020. The Post-caesarean section pain level identified by using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) and the sleep quality is measured using Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire. Results: 38 mothers (76%) had severe pain level and most of them (43 mothers) had poor sleep quality. The Spearman correlation test showed that there was a relationship between the Post-caesarean section pain level and sleep quality, p value = 0.000 (p <0.05) and r = 0.314.Conclusion: The post-caesarean section pain levels among mothers who delivered by caesarean section under spinal anaesthesia should be identified earlier as we would like to encourage the nursing staff to give further intervention to maintain their sleep quality.

Abstract

In recent years, some researchers are exploring many new sources of energy, such as biofuels. Biodiesel attracted the attention of various researchers as an alternative fuel because it is non-toxic, biodegradable and renewable as well as contributing the minimum amount of net greenhouse gases, such as CO2, SO2 and NO emissions into the atmosphere. The use of waste cooking oil to produce biodiesel reduced the raw material cost. The acid-catalyzed process using waste cooking oil proved to be technically feasible with less complexity than the alkali-catalyzed process using waste cooking oil, thereby making it a competitive alternative to commercial biodiesel production by the alkali-catalyzed process. The main objective of this study was to compare the process of making biodiesel. Esterification process would be compared with esterification followed by a trans-esterification process. The results showed that biodiesel was produced by esterification followed by trans-esterification process and esterification process , they have met SNI for parameters such as density, acid number, pH, cloud point and flash point, but the parameters of the viscosity and water content did not meet standards. Biodiesel using esterification followed by trans-esterification) was better than esterification process due to the yield produced higher (62.667%) than the esterification process (48%)

Abstract

In the palm oil industry, open ponding, aerobic and anaerobic digestion, physicochemical treatment and membrane filtration are generally applied as conventional treatments of palm oil mill effluent (POME). In this study, a sand filtration-dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) system was investigated as an alternative process for treating POME. This system can reduce land usage, processing time and costs compared to conventional systems. The removal efficiency of chemical oxygen demand (COD), biological oxygen demand (BOD5), and oil-grease in relation to the applied voltage were studied. Furthermore, the pH and temperature profiles were investigated. The obtained results indicate that the removal efficiency of COD, BOD5, and oil-grease increased with an increase of the applied voltage. The electrical energy consumption needed is about 10.56 kWh/L of POME.
