Abstract

Purpose – Zotero is a Reference Management Software (RMS) that can help students manage references, citations, and bibliographies automatically. However, the background factors and the extent to which students understand and feel the benefits of using Zotero in this process have not been widely studied, especially from a qualitative research perspective. Therefore, this study aims to examine the factors behind using Zotero as a reference management tool and its impact on the process of writing academic texts for students.Methodology – The research employs a qualitative design with data collected from twelve undergraduate students at Tanjungpura University during the 2023-2024 academic year. Participants were selected based on their confirmed experience using Zotero for academic writing. Data collection was conducted through semi-structured interviews, and thematic analysis was applied to identify patterns and themes in the responses.Findings – The research findings indicate three main themes. The first theme is the perception of ease of use, with subthemes of ease of download, installation, and use, as well as ease of understanding and learning. The second theme is the perception of usefulness with the subthemes of time efficiency, improved score, improving writing quality, ease of citation, and bibliography, making it easy to translate. The third theme is the influence of using the subthemes of academic encouragement, friend encouragement, and lecturer encouragement. These findings underscore Zotero’s effectiveness in supporting students’ academic writing needs.Significance – This research benefits educators, students, and academic institutions seeking to incorporate practical reference management tools into academic writing practices. It highlights Zotero's potential to streamline the writing process and improve academic outcomes, offering valuable insights for integrating technology into higher education curricula. Keywords : Zotero, RMS, Reference Management, Student, Perception

Abstract

Literasi numerasi adalah suatu kecakapan kecakapan dalam penggunaan angka dan simbol untuk memecahkan masalah praktis yang rutin dijumpai. Kemampuan literasi numerasi dari anak-anak sekolah dasar yang berdomisili pedesaan mengalami kemunduran karena pandemi Covid 19, sehingga perlu usaha keras untuk meningkatkan kembali kemampuan tersebut. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan anak sekolah dasar di dusun Baya desa Rodaya melalui peningkatan kemampuan literasi numerasi. Pogram pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini dilakukan melalui program bimbingan belajar di luar jam sekolah, secara periodik selama 1 bulan kegiatan, yang diikuti oleh anak sekolah dasar dari kelas 1 sampai kelas 6, dengan metode pembelajaran yang dikelompokkan dalam 3 bagian, yaitu kelompok kelas bawah (kelas 2 dan 2), kelas menengah (kelas 3 dan 4) serta kelas atas (kelas 5 dan 6). Berdasarkan evaluasi kegiatan yang dilakukan dengan pemberian ujian sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan bimbingan belajar, menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan literasi numerasi dari anak sekolah tersebut.

Abstract

Perpustakaan kampus adalah salah satu sarana penunjang utama proses pembelajaran di dalam kampus, sehingga perlu mendapatkan perhatian penting dalam pengelolaannya. Peran perpustakaan kampus sebagai sarana pencarian referensi oleh mahasiswa, sekaligus menjadi salah satu tolak ukur kemajuan kampus, sedapat mungkin memiliki standar pelayanan pengunjung yang representative, sehingga dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran secara signifikan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan sumber daya pustakawan dalam pengelolaan perpustakaan sehingga memudahkan akses pengunjung dalam memperoleh referensi yang diperlukan. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, melalui observasi dan wawancara dengan pengelola perpustakaan yang dilanjutkan dengan pendampingan tenaga perpustakaan dalam mengelola perpustakaan dengan baik dan terarah. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan tenaga kepustakaan dalam mengelola perpustakaan, ditunjukkan oleh hasil pengecekan pekerjaan dari awal sampai akhir kegiatan, meliputi kemampuan dan keterampilan tenaga kepustakaan dalam mendata buku dan memberikan nomor registrasi menggunakan scan barcode, menyediakan fitur online di mana mahasiswa dapat mengakses ketersediaan buku-buku diperpustakaan secara online, serta kontrol peminjaman yang terintegrasi dengan semua komputer dalam perpustakaan. Socialization of Library Management on the YARSI College of Health Sciences Campus The campus library is one of the main supporting facilities for the learning process on campus, so it needs important attention in its management. The role of the campus library is as a means of searching for references by students, as well as being a benchmark for campus progress, as far as possible having representative visitor service standards, so that it can significantly improve the quality of learning. Community service activities (PKM) aim to increase the resource capabilities of librarians in library management so as to facilitate access for visitors to obtain the necessary references. This activity was carried out using a qualitative descriptive approach, through observations and interviews with library managers, followed by assistance to library staff in managing the library well and with direction. The results of the activity show an increase in the knowledge of library staff in managing libraries, shown by the results of checking work from the beginning to the end of the activity, including the ability and skills of library staff in registering books and providing registration numbers using barcode scanning, providing online features where students can access the availability of books. books in the library online, as well as lending control that is integrated with all computers in the library.

Abstract

Program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat baca anak usia dini melalui metode mendongeng interaktif. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di TK Negeri Pembina Mempawah Hilir dengan melibatkan 20 siswa, guru, serta fasilitator dari Program Diploma Ilmu Perpustakaan Universitas Tanjungpura. Metode yang digunakan mencakup observasi awal, wawancara dengan pemangku kepentingan, serta sesi mendongeng yang memanfaatkan ekspresi wajah, intonasi suara, dan gerakan tubuh. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam keterlibatan siswa selama sesi mendongeng, serta meningkatnya dukungan guru dan orang tua dalam aktivitas literasi. Kesimpulannya, mendongeng interaktif terbukti sebagai strategi efektif dalam menumbuhkan minat baca anak usia dini dan menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang menyenangkan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan gaya bahasa pada kumpulan puisi Dikatakan Atau Tidak Dikatakan Itu Tetap Cinta karya Tere Liye. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah menginterpretasi dan mendeskripsikan penggunaan gaya bahasa personifikasi, metafora, anafora, hiperbola, simile, dan eufemisme, serta menganalisis makna simbolis, emotif, dan reflektif yang terkandung di dalamnya. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa personifikasi digunakan untuk menghidupkan unsur alam dan perasaan abstrak, menciptakan makna simbolis, emotif, dan reflektif yang mendalam. Metafora digunakan untuk menggambarkan perasaan manusia, terutama dilema cinta dan perenungan kehidupan. Anafora memperkuat tema cinta melalui pengulangan kata, sehingga menambah kedalaman pesan dan emosi. Hiperbola digunakan untuk mempertegas kesan emosional serta menggambarkan cinta yang penuh tantangan. Simile menampilkan konflik batin antara cinta dan kebencian, sedangkan eufemisme menghadirkan peristiwa besar seperti kehilangan dan perpisahan secara lebih halus, sehingga menciptakan suasana yang lebih tenang.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of politeness maxims according to Geoffrey Leech's theory in teacher-student, student teacher, student-student, and teacher-all-student interactions of class XI SMAN 1 Serasan Timur. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data in the form of audio recordings during learning. The results show that teacher-student interactions include 49 utterances, consisting of maxims of wisdom (17), generosity (2), appreciation (12), humility (2), consensus (11), and sympathy (1). Student-student interactions include 15 utterances: wisdom (3), generosity (2), appreciation (1), humility (1), consensus (7), and sympathy (1). Meanwhile, teacher interactions with all students only show 2 utterances of the consensus maxim and 2 of the sympathy maxim. The most frequent interactions occur between male teachers and female students, as well as female teachers and male students. The maxim of humility is the least frequent. These results are implied in learning negotiation texts for grade X SMA with a mini market simulation strategy to form polite language skills.

Abstract

The development of technology has a significant impact on the way humans interact, such as the use of social media. In fact, many teenagers have not been able to control their use properly, thus affecting their academic environment. This study aims to analyse teachers' perceptions of the influence of social media on students' development and learning activities at school. This study used a qualitative method with a phenomenological design, involving eight teachers who were selected according to the research criteria. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews using interview guidelines supported by a voice recorder. Data analysis used thematic analysis techniques. This study successfully revealed four themes, namely the usefulness, sub-themes of More Interactive Learning, Easy to Disseminate Information, Easy to Manage Assignments and Easy to Conduct Assessments, and Improved Student Competence, Negative Impacts sub-themes of Addiction, Cyberbullying, Plagiarism, Unfocused Learning, and Indifferent Attitudes to Assignments, Barriers sub-themes of Facility Barriers and Competency Barriers, and Recommendations sub-themes of Used to Share Information, Used for Teaching Media, Scheduled Use, and Need for Training. Overall, teachers view social media as having a two-way impact, namely positive and negative depending on self-control of its use. If used appropriately, social media can support the learning process.

Abstract

: Perkembangan teknologi digital telah mengubah pola akses informasi dan menegaskan kebutuhan mendesak akan literasi digital di kalangan pelajar. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi siswa dalam memanfaatkan aplikasi mobile library sebagai sumber belajar digital. Program dilaksanakan bekerja sama dengan SMA Negeri 1 Siantan, Kecamatan Jongkat, Kabupaten Mempawah, dengan melibatkan 25 siswa sebagai peserta. Metode pelaksanaan menggabungkan sesi penyampaian materi, praktik langsung, serta evaluasi kuantitatif melalui kuesioner. Pelatihan difokuskan pada penggunaan tiga platform digital—iPusnas, iKalbar, dan iJakarta—meliputi instalasi, registrasi, pencarian buku, peminjaman, dan membaca koleksi digital. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada keterampilan teknis siswa, khususnya dalam mengakses dan mengelola bahan bacaan digital. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga menumbuhkan kesadaran yang lebih kuat akan pentingnya literasi digital sebagai kompetensi inti dalam proses pembelajaran. Evaluasi akhir menunjukkan skor rata-rata keseluruhan sebesar 4,6 (92%) dengan kategori “Sangat Baik,” yang mengindikasikan keberhasilan program dalam mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini memberikan pengalaman belajar yang aplikatif sekaligus memperkuat budaya literasi berbasis teknologi di kalangan siswa.

Abstract

Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) is one of the government's initiatives to address the issue of students' poor interest in reading in Indonesia. This research was carried out with the purpose of determining how the implementation of GLS at SMP Negeri 2 Pontianak. This study employs research methodologies based on a case study methodology. In order to collect data, in-depth observations and interviews with eight informants were conducted. Data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drafting are data analysis techniques employed in this study, while the triangulation approach is used to measure validity. The findings revealed that the School Literacy Movement at SMP Negeri 2 Pontianak was implemented in stages of habituation, development, and learning. The habituation step involves students reading non-lesson books for 15 minutes, followed by the development stage, in which they are requested to reply to the book in the form of a summary. Students are expected to convey the outcomes of literacy exercises in various types of work during the learning stage. Faces challenges such as a shortage of library resources, a lack of enthusiasm, and parental support. To address this issue, attempts are being made to urge students to produce reading materials individually and then trade reading materials with classmates, to socialize pupils about the value of literacy, and to develop literacy drive. The ultimate result is that the implementation of Gerakan Literasi Sekolah in developing a literacy culture at SMP Negeri 2 Pontianak went well, but not optimally since there are still hurdles in its implementation.

Abstract

Slang language research aims to classify and analyze the form, meaning, types of changes in meaning and function of slang words in the film Bucin by Chandra Liow using sociolinguistic studies. The method used in the research is descriptive method with qualitative research form. The data source in this research is the movie Bucin by Chandra Liow. The data in this study are slang words contained in the movie Bucin by Chandra Liow. The data colletion technique used in this research is documentation study. Based on the results of data analysis in this study, it can be conlcluded that the data obtained amounted to 95 data. The category of slang word form consists of phoneme reduction as much as 12 data. The slang word form in the form of phoneme addition is 10 data. Slang word form in the form of shortening as much as 23 data. Word borrowing consisting of local and foreign languages amounted to 11 data, monophthongization amounted to 3 data, Letter replacement amounted to 12 data, puns amounted to 1 data, reduplication amounted to 1 data, affixation amounted to 6 data, the formation of new vocabulary amounted to 8 data, the use of particles amounted to 7 data and word reversal amounted to 1 data
