Abstract

Competitiveness and Factors Affecting Vanilli Exports in Bali Province Plantation has a strategic position in the development of the agricultural sector in Bali. One of the main export products from plantations is vanilla. Vanilla is a plant species of high economic value with relatively stable price fluctuation. The decline in the volume of vanilla exports is caused by the difficulty and maintenance of vanilla plants, which causes vanilla farmers to choose to plant annual crops and manipulate prices from exporters. The purpose of this study is to find out the competitiveness of vanilla commodity exports in Bali Province and factors that simultaneously and partially influence vanilla commodity exports in Bali Province. The study was conducted using Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) to identify the competitiveness of vanilla commodity exports in the Province of Bali. Multiple Linear Regression Analysis is used to determine the 4 variables, namely production, the US dollar exchange rate, inflation and prices, and variables that affect vanilla exports. The RCA index test results show that vanilla commodity does not yet have the competitiveness or the RCA index produced is less than one. The results of the multiple linear regression test show that of the 4 variables namely production, the US dollar exchange rate, inflation and prices, only the production variable has a significant effect on vanilla exports in the Province of Bali.

AbstractFactors That Affect Consumer Demand Against Local Oranges in Denpasar CityThis study aims to test the accuracy of demand function model to approach the demand local oranges in Denpasar, identify the factors that affect consumer demand to local oranges in Denpasar, and estimate the elasticity of citrus nobilis demand in Denpasar. Location choosen purposely those in the kreneng market, ketapian market, sanglah market, and badung markets. The population on this research are the buyers of local oranges fruit. Samples taken as many as 50 people use purposive sampling techniques. This research using two demand function models namely linier demand function and Cobb-Douglas demand function who tested with three criteria which resulted the best model. Independent variable that affects was : the price of local oranges (x1), the price of import oranges (x2), the price of apples (x3), the price of mango (x4), family income (x5), and extended family (x6). Cobb-Douglas demand function model namely LnY = 2,912 - 1,109LnX1* - 1,461LnX2* - 1,579LnX3* +1,383LnX4* + 0,622LnX5* + 1,449LnX6*. Factors that affects are the price of local oranges, the price of other fruit (import oranges, apple, mango ), family income, andthe number of family members. Price elasticity on the demand of local oranges is elastic. Complementary goods namely import orange fruit and apples. Substitutiongoods namely mango. Income elasticity showed that local oranges is inelastic. Consumers should choose the local oranges, because more assured quality and isproduced domestically.

Abstract

Technical Efficiency, Price, and Economical in Farm Corn (Zea MaysL.) at Subak Gunung Sari Kawan, Saba Village, Blahbatuh, GianyarSubak Gunung Sari Kawan is one Subak plant corn. Commodity corn crop isaffected by the factors of production, such as labor, seeds, Urea, NPK, andpesticides, in which the quantity of production factors greatly affect cornproduction. This study aimed to analyze the influence of factors of productionlabor, seeds, Urea, NPK, and pesticides, and analyze the technical efficiency, price ,and economical in corn farming. This study uses multiple linear regression methodthat includes: classic assumption test consisting of normality test, heteroskedasitas, test multikoliniearitas and test the linear regression model that includes: test thecoefficient of determination (R2), F-test and t-test with significance level (?) of 5%.After that tested the model validation by comparing the root mean square error andmean absolute error to determine a more precise forecasting methods used. Theequation used is the production function model of Cobb-Douglas productionfunction of the natural logarithm. The analysis of the equation efficiency include:technical efficiency, price, and economical. Taken together all the factors ofproduction of corn in corn farm real impact on corn production. Partially factors ofproduction the number of seeds (X2) significantly affect corn production, whileother production factors did not significantly affect corn production. Based on theanalysis of technical efficiency, seed production factors (X2), Urea (X3), NPK(X4), and pesticides (X5) technically efficient. Judging from the price efficiencyand economical efficiency of all factors of production there is no efficient.

Sweet corn cultivation has an opportunity to give high benefit if done by effective and efficient system. The election of research area is done by purposive because subak Delod Sema as a central of sweet corn in Denpasar. We take 35 sweet corn farmers and 15 rice farmers (opportunity cost)  from 177 sweet corn farmers as our respondent and we use Slovin Theory. Than 56 rice farmers (opportunity cost) with proportional random sampling method. The purposes of this research are for knowing farmer income, marketing process, and farmer problems. The result of this research show that real income rate which got by farmer from sweet corn farm operations are Rp 9,263,218/month/ha bigger that's all million that is Rp 6,727,102/month/ha (57,01%) get more by rice as opportunity cost Rp 2,536,116/month/ha. This situation show that advantages in the same wide area for sweet corn farm operations get more value than rice cultivation. There are two ways for distribution their sweet corn product such as: first, start from farmer as producer to collector further to consumer. Second, start from farmer as producer to collector than collector to retail in market further to consumer. There are problem faced by sweet corn farmer such as: climate change, exchange price, rare access to investor, and decrease of price information. Based this research we suggest to farmer that sweet corn farm operations as daily profession and more active browsing information in create farm operations. Last for farmers and subak management know how to exploit their groups become to be marketing area. Key words: sweet corn farm operations and subak delod sema
