Abstract

Pedagogical competence is an essential ability that must be possessed by education program students as prospective teachers. Field observations indicate that not all students optimally utilize school observation activities, and there are differences in students’ learning motivation during lectures. This condition is suspected to affect the development of students’ pedagogical competence. This study aims to examine the relationship between the intensity of school observations and learning motivation with students’ pedagogical competence. A quantitative approach was applied using a correlational method. The study involved 43 students as respondents. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire consisting of 36 items covering three research variables: school observation intensity, learning motivation, and students’ pedagogical competence. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics through a series of tests including validity, reliability, normality, correlation, and multiple regression analyses. The study found a positive relationship between school observation intensity and students’ pedagogical competence, as well as a positive association between learning motivation and pedagogical competence. Regression analysis indicated that school observation intensity and learning motivation collectively contributed to students’ pedagogical competence, with a coefficient of determination of 0.547 or 54.7%. These findings suggest that school observation intensity and learning motivation play a significant role in enhancing pedagogical competence among prospective teachers.

Abstract

This comprehensive community service program was designed to address the multidimensional challenges faced by farmers and micro-enterprise actors in Bayasari Village, Ciamis Regency, with main focus on digital marketing limitations and financial literacy gaps. Through a participatory action research approach, the program implemented a series of integrated interventions covering six development sectors simultaneously: education, health, economy, environment, institutional development, and disaster mitigation. Methodologies consistently applied throughout the program included participatory rural appraisal for problem mapping, focused group discussions for solution formulation, hands-on practical training for capacity building, and continuous mentoring to ensure knowledge adoption. The achieved results showed significant success with improved digital capacity among 32 core participants, where 85% successfully mastered online platform management independently. In addition to the main economic outcomes, the program also successfully generated positive impacts in supporting sectors, including increased health awareness among elderly groups, strengthened environmental education in elementary education institutions, and enhanced institutional capacity through the development of an integrated village profile website. The successful implementation of this program empirically proves the importance of holistic and multi-sectoral approaches in building rural community resilience, while affirming the strategic value of multi-party collaboration between academics, village government, and communities in creating sustainable socio-economic transformation.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the 70:20:10 teaching model in improving students' spatial literacy skills in geography. This research applied the Classroom Action Research (PTK) approach implemented in two cycles at SMP Negeri 5 Jonggat with a focus on students in class VII IPS. The 70:20:10 model combines experiential learning (70%), social learning (20%), and formal learning (10%). Data were obtained through observations, interviews, and spatial literacy tests, which were then analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. The findings showed an increase in the average score from 45.39 (pre-cycle) to 62.87 (cycle I) and 75.24 (cycle II). The model proved effective in developing spatial skills through an active, collaborative and reflective approach. Therefore, the 70:20:10 model is a relevant teaching strategy to improve spatial literacy competencies and geography learning in the 21st era.

Abstract

Instilling religious attitudes is one of the main objectives of Islamic Religious Education (IRE), but in practice, students' religious understanding is often still cognitive in nature and has not been fully internalized in their daily attitudes and behavior. This condition underscores the importance of attending to students' internal factors, particularly spiritual and emotional intelligence, in the learning process. This study aims to analyze the influence of spiritual intelligence and emotional intelligence on students' religious attitudes in Islamic Religious Education. This study uses a quantitative, correlational design. The study population consisted of 986 students at Limboto 1 Public High School, and a sample of 284 students was selected using the Slovin formula via proportional random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression after satisfying the classical assumption tests. The results showed that spiritual intelligence and emotional intelligence had a positive and significant effect on religious attitudes, both partially and simultaneously. Spiritual intelligence had a more dominant effect than emotional intelligence. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.669 indicates that these two variables can explain 66.9% of the variation in religious attitudes. This study concludes that strengthening spiritual and emotional intelligence is an important factor in shaping students' religious attitudes and should therefore be systematically integrated into Islamic Education (PAI) learning.

Collaborative-contextual learning strongly emphasizes group activities, learning interactions, and collaboration between students in carrying out tasks. In learning with collaborative-contextual methods directed so that students can be actively involved, by conducting learning activities such as presenting assignments, paying attention to explanations from lecturers or colleagues, discussing, asking questions, expressing opinions, and answering questions. The aim of collaborative-contextual learning to be achieved is to improve learning activities and student participation in geomorphology learning. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach and action. The target in this study as the research subjects were 21 students in the third semester who took geomorphology courses. Data collection method using observation (observation sheet), test (question / case study), and documentation (photo, video). Data analysis using interactive analysis. Based on the data obtained from the research results it can be concluded that, the stages of collaborative-contextual learning that have been applied have successfully involved students actively during the learning process. This is because, all stages of learning activities emphasize the involvement of students from the beginning to the end of learning. Students become more active, the learning atmosphere becomes more conducive, group discussion becomes more lively because all group members prepare the discussion material well. They also became more enthusiastic and active in every lesson. With better quality learning, students' understanding of the learning process becomes good and understanding of the lecture material also becomes better

Abstract

This study addresses the low level of students’ critical thinking skills in increasingly complex digital learning environments. It aims to examine the effects of digital literacy and reading interest on students’ critical thinking skills. A quantitative approach with a correlational research design was employed. The participants were students of SMAN 4 Bukittinggi, selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using validated questionnaires measuring digital literacy, reading interest, and critical thinking skills. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis, including the F-test and coefficient of determination. The findings reveal that digital literacy has a significant effect on students’ critical thinking skills (F = 79.405; p < 0.05), and reading interest also significantly influences students’ critical thinking skills (F = 3.244; p < 0.05). Furthermore, digital literacy and reading interest simultaneously have a significant effect on critical thinking skills (F = 64.425; p < 0.05). The Adjusted R Square value of 0.646 indicates that 64.6% of the variance in students’ critical thinking skills is explained by digital literacy and reading interest. These findings demonstrate that both digital literacy and reading interest play an important role in strengthening students’ higher-order thinking skills. The study contributes to educational practice by highlighting the need to integrate digital literacy development and reading-habit cultivation into learning activities to enhance students’ critical thinking skills in the digital era.
