Abstract

This study aimed to analyze and evaluate the extent of relationship between the soybean demand in a region and the number of cooperatives in the area, as well as the extent of relationship between the number of cooperative members (tofu and tempeh producers) and the number of cooperatives in the area. This study uses a quantitative approach based on primary data, later processed using Pearson correlation method. The results of data processing show that there is no significant relationship between the number of cooperatives and the number of producers. Furthermore, there is also no significant relationship between the number of cooperatives and existing soybean demands. This indicates the low role of cooperatives in the national soybean supply chain at the present. Therefore, there are two policy options that can be made. First, a radical policy, i.e. to leave out PRIMKOPTI in soybean supply chain at all. Second, the still mainstream policy, i.e. to still involve PRIMKOPTI, thus in order to make long-term programs in soybean business administration run well, PRIMKOPTI should be institutionally empowered and strengthened to achieve its business resilience.

Abstract

This research aims to assess  the income of red chili farming, the amount of risk faced by red chili farmers, and the correlation between risk and income accepted by the red chili farmers.  The study was conducted in Way Sulan Sub-district of South Lampung Regency.  The total samples were 56 farmers drawn using a simple random sampling method.  The data were collected in March - April 2019 using questionnaires.  The first aim was analyzed using the revenue-cost ratio (R/C), which is the comparison between total revenue and total cost.  The second aim was analyzed by risk analysis using coefficient variation (CV) and the lower limit (L) on five planting seasons.  The third aim was analyzed by Product Moment Pearson correlation.  This research results showed that the red chili farming income was profitable because of R/C >1.  Risk calculation on five planting seasons results showed that the value of CV<0,50 and L>0, meaning that red chili farming was still profitable in any level of risk.  There was positive correlation between the amount of risk and income. It means that the higher level of expected income, the higher level of risk received by farmers. Key words:  income, red chili, risk

Abstract

The aim of this research is to investigate the effects of 0.25 % Mo (Molybdenum) which is contained in the ductile cast iron on mechanical properties of Austempered Ductile Iron (ADI). The various temperatures and the holding times are used in the heat treatment processes. Using a given 0.25 % Mo in the ductile iron, ADI's alloyed developes a higher ultimate tensile stress value and decreases the elongation if we compare with the as cast (non alloy ductile iron). The higher impact energy value obtained at 9000 C austenization and 375o C austempering temperatures during 60 minutes holding times. The structure changes into ausferrit.

Abstract

Effect of Contact Time on Interface Reaction between Aluminum Silicon (7% and 11%) Alloy and Steel Dies SKD 61. Die soldering (die sticking) is a defect of metal casting in which molten metal “welds” to the metallic die mold surface during casting process. Die soldering is the result of an interface reaction between the molten aluminum and the die material. Aluminum alloy with 7 and 11% silicon and SKD 61 die steel are the most common melt and die material used in aluminum die casting. This research is done to study the morphology and the characteristics of the formed AlxFeySiz intermetallic layer during interface reaction at dipping test. The samples of as-anneal SKD 61 tool steel was dipped into the molten of Al-7%Si held at temperature 680oC and into molten Al-11%Si held at temperature 710oC with the different contact time of 10 minutes; 30 minutes; and 50 minutes. The research results showed that the interface reaction can form a compact intermetallic layer with AlxFey phase and a broken intermetallic layer with AlxFeySiz phase on the surface of SKD 61 tool steel. The increasing of the contact time by the immersion of material SKD 61 tool steel in both of molten Al-7%Si and Al-11%Si will increase the thickness of the AlxFeySiz intermetallic layer until an optimum point and then decreasing. The micro hardness of the AlxFeySiz intermetallic layer depends on the content of the iron. Increasing of the iron content in intermetallic layer will increase the micro hardness of the AlxFeySiz. This condition happened because the increasing of Fe content will cause forming of intermetallic AlxFeySiz phase becomes quicker.

Abstract

Power steering technology help human to control the car. The hydraulic power steering system now tends to be replaced by the electric power steering system (EPS). As the main driver that require precise control. The contribution of this research is to obtain system identification of EPS motor and novelty control strategy to achieve stable control better. Motor control require an appropriate mathematical model and up-down-up down signals of Pseudo Random Binary Signal Sequence (PRBS) were used. The modelling method used was the Numerical Algorithm for Subspace State Space System Identification (N4SID). The quality of the modeling needs to be measured to see whether it was close to the original signal. The validation of the model obtained tested using Variance Accounted For (VAC), Akaike Information Criterion (AIC), and Final Prediction Error (FPE). The best mathematical model was developed on the basis of these three criteria, which is 3rd order model. The control strategy carried out by means of the Ziegler Nichols, Tyreus Luyben and Haugen tuning technique. With these three tuning methods, the control parameters obtained were used for Proprotional-Integral (PI) and Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) control. Based on the study, the Haugen control shows the best results of the two other controls, namely with a rise time value of 11,361 ms, overshoot of 6,898%, and steady state at 1.3 s. This show that PI control using the Haugen tuning method able to control the motor well. Robustness tests have also been carried out because the steering system is operated in unpredictable environmental conditions. The control greatly influenced the performance and stability of EPS control in the car's steering system.

Abstract

The Mansai tradition is the custom of collecting material assistance before the wedding to lighten the burden on the prospective groom. This procession becomes a problem whether it is in harmony with the Prophet's orders. This study is qualitative research using the approach of living traditions and anthropology of Islamic law. Living sunnah is used to analyze the concept of hadith that lives in the Banggai community, while the anthropology of Islamic law analyzes the practice of mansai which is a tradition in marriage. Data was collected by gathering information through in-depth interviews and literature studies. The field findings were then analyzed using the perspective of living sunnah and integrated with the customs of the people of the Banggai Tribe, Central Sulawesi. The selected hadiths are those that have been validated for the quality of their sanad and matan. This study found that the mansai tradition means that the prospective groom invites his family and community to bear the funds or assets as wedding expenses which will be handed over to the woman (mangantokon sai). Mansai as a custom has become a habit in accordance with Islamic law and has become a living sunnah. The main message in the Mansai tradition is to help each other and ease the burden on Muslim brothers and sisters in the process of marriage (banikah) in the Banggai Tribe community. Anthropologically, mansai as a tradition that has been accepted by the Banggai people for a long time, functions as a unifying medium, maintains the practice of deliberation and overcomes social problems.
