Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teachers' perceptions of the concepts and principles of the deep learning approach, their understanding and experience in implementing it through the use of digital technology, as well as the obstacles and solutions in Islamic Religious Education and Character (PAIBP) learning at SMA Negeri 1 Palembang. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Research subjects were selected purposively, namely PAIBP teachers. Data were collected through non-participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of learning tools and school policies. Data analysis was carried out through reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing, with validity testing through source and technique triangulation. The results show that teachers have positive perceptions of deep learning as an approach that emphasizes deep understanding, reflection, and internalization of values, although the depth of understanding varies among teachers. Implementation was carried out systematically through problem-based planning, reflective discussions, projects, and authentic assessment. AI was utilized for religious case analysis and enriching students' perspectives; Kahoot and Gimkit were used as interactive formative evaluation tools; while audiovisual media presented real learning contexts. Technology integration supports meaningful, mindful, and joyful learning. The impact is evident in the increased student engagement, critical thinking, and religious awareness. Obstacles include digital literacy limitations, limited training, and cognitive evaluation orientation, which are addressed through strengthening MGMP forums, authentic assessment, technology-based reflection, and continuous training.

Abstract

Indonesia's digital education transformation has experienced significant acceleration post-COVID-19 pandemic, with generative AI emerging as a disruptive technology offering revolutionary potential for personalized learning. However, significant knowledge gaps remain regarding how generative AI is implemented within Indonesia's unique educational context characterized by distinctive socio-cultural conditions, technological infrastructure, and educational policies. This study aims to map implementation patterns of generative AI in personalized learning across various educational levels in Indonesia and identify encountered challenges. Employing a systematic literature review methodology following PRISMA 2020 guidelines, the research analyzed 28 studies published between 2020-2024 from international and Indonesian local databases. Findings reveal concerning implementation distribution disparities with concentration in higher education and dominance of global commercial platforms like ChatGPT, indicating dependence on proprietary systems raising data sovereignty concerns. Effective implementations adopt hybrid human-AI orchestration models with tiered personalization reflecting Indonesian cultural values. Major challenges include three-level digital divides, low teacher competency in AI literacy, rigid curriculum structures, and absence of adequate data governance frameworks. This research contributes to developing contextual generative AI implementation frameworks and fills literature gaps on educational AI in Indonesia, though longitudinal research and explicit equity interventions remain necessary to ensure just and sustainable implementation.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of Ahmad Dahlan’s interpretation of Al-Ma'un as a foundation for revitalizing national character education through Islamic Religious Education (PAI) with an emphasis on social jurisprudence (fiqh sosial) at SMA Labbaik Lahat. The research is motivated by the urgent need to strengthen students’ national character in the face of globalization, growing individualism, and declining social concern among young people. Contextually read by Ahmad Dahlan, Surah Al-Ma'un underscores the necessity of translating Islamic teachings into tangible social actions, including care for the marginalized (dhuafa), social justice, and humanitarian responsibility, which strongly align with the aims of national character education and the high-school social fiqh curriculum. Employing a qualitative case study design, the study collected data through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with PAI teachers and students, and document analysis of learning materials and school programs. Data were analyzed using thematic procedures consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings demonstrate that integrating Al-Ma'un-based thought into social fiqh instruction strengthens students’ national character values, such as religiosity, social empathy, mutual cooperation, responsibility, and concern for the social environment. Learning activities move beyond a merely normative understanding of fiqh by promoting value internalization through social practice, including acts of care, sharing initiatives, and the habituation of prosocial attitudes in the school context. The study concludes that Ahmad Dahlan’s conception of Al-Ma'un is both relevant and effective as a pedagogical foundation for revitalizing national character education within PAI learning grounded in social jurisprudence at the senior secondary level.

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of women’s education in Indonesia through the educational thought of Rahmah El-Yunusiyah, a pioneering reformer who established the Diniyah Putri in Padang Panjang. Her initiatives emerged from a socio-historical context in which women had limited access to formal education due to patriarchal norms and colonial structures. The purpose of this study is to analyze Rahmah’s holistic and integrative educational concept, which combines religious sciences, general knowledge, character formation, and practical life skills as a comprehensive system for empowering Muslim women. Using a qualitative approach with literature and historical methods, this research draws upon primary sources—such as archival records, biographical documents, and early curricula of Diniyah Putri—alongside secondary scholarly works. The findings reveal that Rahmah successfully shifted the paradigm of women’s education from a domestic-centered model to a progressive framework that positions women as active agents in social and religious life. Her pedagogical model emphasizes moral integrity, intellectual competence, and social responsibility, making Diniyah Putri a pioneering institution of Islamic women’s education in Southeast Asia. The study concludes that Rahmah’s ideas remain highly relevant for contemporary educational development, offering a strategic foundation for strengthening the role of Muslim women as empowered, independent, and contributive members of society.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of fiqh learning based on local wisdom to improve students' learning motivation at MTs Aisyiyah Muhammadiyah Palembang, as well as to identify the obstacles and solutions in its implementation. This study used a qualitative approach with a field research design combined with a literature study. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, with the fiqh teacher, as the main informant. The data were analyzed descriptively through an in-depth review of interview results and presented in a systematic narrative form. The results showed that local wisdom-based fiqh learning was carried out by connecting fiqh materials with cultural values and traditions that are closely related to students' daily lives. The learning process emphasized not only theory but also practice by utilizing various learning resources and teaching aids, such as prayer procedure posters and a miniature Kaaba. This approach helped students understand the material more easily, become more active in the learning process, and increase their motivation to learn. The obstacles encountered included low learning interest among some students, differences in students' abilities, and limited instructional time. To overcome these obstacles, the teacher modified and combined various teaching methods to create a more engaging and understandable learning environment. In conclusion, the implementation of local wisdom-based fiqh learning was effective in improving students' learning motivation.
