Abstract

Higher-order Thinking Skills (HOTS) are essential for students, and teachers must properly train and handle them. This study aims to explain mathematic teachers' learning preparation and experiences, evaluate mathematic teachers' perception of HOTS, investigate mathematic teachers' efforts to improve HOTS for senior high school students in Riau Islands Province, Indonesia, and to find out students’ HOTS ability. One hundred and twelve senior high school mathematic teachers in the Province of Riau Islands were the sample of this survey. Experts validated the research instrument, which is in the form of an updated questionnaire. A descriptive statistic was used to evaluate the results (in percentage). The findings revealed that students' HOTS potential in Riau Islands Province is still lacking. The Riau Islands Province senior high school mathematic teachers did a good job of planning the class, but it was not done consistently. Some teachers did not completely plan the lessons according to the educational standards that were recommended. Teachers' most difficult challenge in raising student HOTS during the mathematics learning process was deciding on an engaging stimulus that was suitable for the nature of the material to be taught. The teachers' understanding of HOTS is sufficiently broad, and they believe that HOTS should be taught to students.

Abstract

Numerasi merupakan kemampuan yang dibutuhkan siswa untuk dapat menyelesaikan AKM. Faktanya kemampuan numerasi siswa Indonesia masih sangat rendah merujuk survei PISA 2018, diperburuk penerapan pembelajaran daring selama masa pandemi. Penelitian dilakukan guna: (1) mengetahui pengaruh model IBL secara daring terhadap kemampuan numerasi, (2) menguji interaksi model IBL secara daring terhadap kemampuan numerasi ditinjau dari Locus of Control (LoC), (3) mendeskripsikan pengaruh LoC terhadap kemampuan numerasi. Penelitian menerapkan pendekatan kuantitatif metode quasi experiment, desain Posttest-Only Control dengan rancangan treatment by level 2x2 factorial terdiri atas model IBL secara daring dan konvensional serta LoC (internal dan eksternal). Populasi penelitian mencakup seluruh siswa SMA Se-Kecamatan Duren Sawit tahun ajaran 2020-2021, sampel penelitian berjumlah 124 siswa kelas XI SMAN 71 dan SMAN 91 Jakarta. Instrumen berupa enam soal tes kemampuan numerasi dan kuesioner LoC yang telah lulus validasi. Hipotesis penelitian dengan ANAVA dua jalur dilanjutkan Uji-t. Hasil penelitian diperoleh: (1) model IBL secara daring memberikan pengaruh terhadap kemampuan numerasi siswa, (2) terdapat interaksi signifikan antara model IBL secara daring terhadap kemampuan numerasi ditinjau dari LoC, (3) Siswa dengan LoC internal memiliki kemampuan numerasi lebih baik dengan model IBL secara daring, siswa dengan LoC eksternal memiliki kemampuan numerasi yang sama terhadap kedua model pembelajaran.

Abstract

This researh aimed to evaluate the Integrating Faith and Learning (IFL) that it was implemented at Junior High School (SMP) Advent DKI Jakarta. The Stake Countenance model was used to evaluate IFL in some stages. They were antecedents, transactions, and outcomes. The results of evaluation showed that the IFL program implementation gave the positive impacts to learning-teaching activities process. The IFL program could be continued with some improvitations in learning media and school manager’s commitment. Keywords: Integrating Faith and Learning (IFL), evaluation research, SMP Advent Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengevaluasi Integrating Faith and Learning (IFL) yang dilaksanakan di dua Sekolah Menengah Pertama Advent. Model evaluasi yang digunakan adalah model Stake Countenance. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan, yaitu: antecedents, transactions, dan outcomes. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan, bahwa pelaksanaan program IFL memberikan pengaruh positif yang baik kepada proses kegiatan belajar- mengajar (KBM). Program IFL dapat dilanjutkan dengan perbaikan pada perangkat pembelajaran dan komitmen pengelola sekolah. Abstract

Artikel ini menggambarkan hasil pengembangan produk modul IPA berbasis Contextual Teachig and Learning (CTL) untuk siswa kelas V di SD Negeri Lenek Lauk Desa Lenek Baru. SD ini sudah teruji kelayakan dan keunggulannya untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar dalam pembelajaran IPA. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dari hasil analisis kebutuhan pembelajaran IPA di Sekolah Dasar yang kegiatan pembelajarannya berpusat pada guru. Metode penelitian menggunakan uji kelayakan oleh validator dan peserta didik. Hasil uji kelayakan validator oleh ahli media dan ahli materi menunjukkan, bahwa modul IPA berbasis CTL dinilai sangat baik dan layak diujicobakan. Hasil angket uji kelayakan peserta didik pada uji coba perorangan memperoleh skor rata-rata 90,4% (sangat baik) dan pada uji coba kelompok kecil dengan skor rata-rata78,8% (baik). Pada uji coba lapangan, sebanyak 24 orang siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar Negeri 2 Lenek Lauk dijadikan sampel penelitian. Hasil perhitungan pada uji coba lapangan, bahwa nilai rata-rata post test lebih tinggi (76,17%) dibandingkan nilai rata-rata pre test (59,91%). Artikel ini menunjukkan, bahwa modul IPA berbasis CTL yang sedang dikembangkan memberikan efek potensial terhadap hasil belajar siswa.Kata Kunci: Pengembangan, Modul, IPA, Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL)

Abstract

This study aims to find out the errors made by students and to find out the causes of student errors in doing arithmetic operations on fractions based on Newman's procedure in terms of Adversity Quotient. In this study, respondents were selected using purposive sampling. The research approach used is a descriptive qualitative approach, the method used is a case study. sampling The research subjects consisted of 3 students selected using a purposive technique. Data collection techniques used are documents, interviews, adversity quotient questionnaires, data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that errors occurred in every indicator of Newman's analysis. The types of errors that students make are reading questions, understanding problems, transforming, processing skills, and writing answers. The causes of these errors include limited students' reading comprehension abilities, students have not been able to identify relevant information in story problems, students are not used to working on story problems, poor time management, and students have not mastered mathematics, needed to solve operational problems properly.

Abstract

Hasil Survey TIMMS menunjukkan rata-rata skor prestasi Matematika siswa Indonesia masih rendah. Capaian ini menunjukkan rata-rata siswa Indonesia hanya mampu mengenali sejumlah fakta dasar tetapi belum mampu mengkomunikasikan, mengaitkan berbagai topik, apalagi menerapkan konsep-konsep yang kompleks dan abstrak. Oleh karenanya guru perlu menyiapkan soal-soal berbasis literasi numerik yang terintegarsi dalam pembelajaran. Kemampuan pengembangan butir soal literasi numerik merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang harus dimiliki oleh guru di tingkat sekolah dasar. Tujuan dari penulisan artikel ini untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemahaman guru sekolah dasar dalam mengembangkan butir soal berbasis literasi numerik. Penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif, menggunakan data dari kegiatan pelatihan dalam rangka pelaksanaan Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat (P2M) untuk guru SD di Desa Bobojong Kecamatan Mande Cianjur Jawa Barat. Peserta pelatihan sebanyak 23 orang guru. Kemampuan pemahaman materi pelatihan dilakukan melalui self assesment dan instrumen evaluasi. Hasil self-assessment dari peserta pelatihan menunjukkan ada peningkatan kemampuan peserta pelatihan dalam menyusun butir soal literasi numerik dengan menggunakan masalah nyata, dan problem solving setelah pemberian materi dan praktik penulisan butir soal.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop the Metacognitive Skills Assessment in a Research Proposal Writing Context (MSARPW), a multidimensional measure, based on student perspectives, for assessing metacognitive skills in thesis writing, and assess the instrument’s psychometric properties using item factor analysis (IFA) and multidimensional item response models. The 40-item MSARPW was administered to 602 Indonesian university students (Mage = 25.254 SDage = 6.854). The IFA showed that the two-dimensional factor structure of MSARPW was satisfactory; however, only 24 of the 40 items were found to fit the model. Multidimensional graded response models (MGRM) were applied to the subsequent 24-item MSARPW, which showed that one item (Item 4) did not satisfy the criteria. The estimated reliabilities of each subscale showed that the 23-item MSARPW has good internal consistency (0.891 and 0.902). To conclude, the 23-item MSARPW appears to be a valid and reliable tool for assessing metacognitive skills in the context of research-proposal writing among Indonesian university students.

Abstract

The study investigated the influence of the Treffinger learning model and self-directed learning on the critical thinking skills of junior high school students. The Treffinger learning model is one of the few models addressing the problem of creativity and providing practical suggestions on how to achieve cohesion. On the other hand, self-directed learning is a mental process to increase the knowledge, skills, and self-achievement of individuals with self-planned and self-conducted activities. The research employed a post-test experiment and control group design with two groups. The study employed two groups; one group was treated using the Treffinger learning model, while the other group was treated using a conventional model. Both groups were analyzed using a self-directed learning questionnaire and a critical mathematical thinking skills test. The sample of this research comprised 88 Grade 8 students purposefully selected in relation to the research objectives. The results of the study showed that the Treffinger learning model was statistically significant in enhancing critical mathematical thinking skills compared to the conventional learning models. Additionally, the study found that students who exhibited high levels of self-directed learning were more likely to benefit from the Treffinger learning model than the conventional model, with a statistically significant mean difference of 3.05 points.

Abstract

Communication is one of the important skills that need to be grown and improved in learning mathematics. Improving mathematical communication ability can be carried out through the application of learning models in which there are discussion activities between students and teachers, one of which is the Student Facilitator and Explaining model. This study aims to determine whether the Student Facilitator and Explaining model in distance learning has an effect on mathematical communication ability. The experimental design used is a quasi-experimental type of posttest-only control group design with a sampling technique using cluster random sampling. The research instrument used a mathematical communication ability test on the quadrilaterals and triangles material, totaling 5 questions which had been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that the Student Facilitator and Explaining model in distance learning has a significant effect on students' mathematical communication ability by 79%. Abstract

Background: This research aims to identify of Mindfulness, social connectedness and Sustainable Well-Being as intervening variable to strengthen Job Embeddedness Research Method: This study adopted a quantitative approach and collected data from 197 respondents and used random sampling. In this study the proposed model uses a structural equation model with assisted data processing using Smart-PLS software. Results and Conclusion: Sustainable well-being is only influenced by mindfulness and social connectedness. Others variable do not have an impact not only on sustainable well-being, but also on job embeddedness. Mindfulness and social connectedness also do not have a direct effect on job embeddedness but are mediated through the role of sustainable well-being.
