Abstract

Al-Hikam Student Islamic Boarding School is founded by KH. A. Hasyim Muzadi in Malang City. This Islamic boarding school has been built with the aim of realizing the integrity of science and religion as a whole. With this educational model, it is hoped that there will be no scientific dichotomy so that religious beliefs have a scientific-rational basis and science is always protected by religious values. In the current era of the industrial revolution 4.0, the students who graduated from Islamic boarding schools are expected to be able to produce scientific works with their ability of religious knowledge. However, in reality, the abilities and interests of the students are very low. By writing scientific works based on the language corpus, the students can express their ideas and ideas in writing more easily. Therefore, this service is carried out to prepare students to be able to write scientific papers properly and correctly. Training is not enough, there should be an assistance so that the students get direct experience on how to write scientific papers. Selected articles are recommended for submission to national or international journals

Abstract

To make people aware not to be influenced by discursive practices carried out by capitalists, this study seeks to explore the forms and persuasive strategies of advertorial advertisements found in the newspapers of Jawa Pos, Kompas, and Republika. Through this research, it is expected that people can use the goods and services offered according to their needs, not because they are influenced by persuasive language that is deliberately used by advertising producers. To examine these efforts in discourse can be dismantled through the theory of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA). This qualitative research shows that persuasive diction in advertorial advertisements uses superlative construction, comparative construction, nominalization, transitive verbs, and adjectives as symbols. In terms of strategy, persuasive diction in advertorials is conveyed by the strategy of providing scholarly images, images of using high technology, images of product effectiveness, images of modern life, prestigious and luxurious images, and images of enjoyment and satisfaction.Advertorials generally have meanings that can represent the experience and knowledge of the community. In short, the findings show that persuasive language aims to build a positive image to potential consumers, through which they can get as much profit as possible. Without realizing what is done by advertising producers through persuasive forms and the strategies they use is a form of hegemony.

Abstract

Teachers are required to have various competencies in the process of transferring knowledge to their students, as are BIPA teachers. Quality teaching competency is an important aspect in the successful achievement of student competency. Therefore, discussions on teacher competence are important as supporting the success of second language learning, in the context that will be carried out, namely the competence of BIPA teachers in writing scientific papers. This is done because writing skills are skills that are difficult to learn and teach. Additionally, consider BIPA which is increasingly popular for non-native speakers to follow. The objectives of this PKM are (1) to provide training in an effort to increase the competency in writing scientific papers of BIPA teachers, (2) to provide insight related to the use of technology in writing scientific papers. This activity was carried out at Yala Rajabhat University, Thailand. This location was chosen because it held BIPA learning and there were problems regarding inadequate insight in writing scientific papers in the context of Indonesian language and culture. The solution offered is to provide academic writing material (1) paraphrasing and quoting skills, (2) word or lexical variations, (3) active and inactive sentences, (4) thinking processes which include ability to understand written information, (5) structure and development of arguments in micro and macro stages. In addition, to achieve the second goal, provide insights related to the use of Mendeley, Vos Viewer, and Sciendiret and Scihub. It is hoped that these two indicators will be able to solve the problems faced by BIPA teachers
