Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive learning media using Articulate Storyline to enhance student interest and learning outcomes in Natural and Social Sciences for elementary education. This study employed a research and development method using the ADDIE model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The subjects involved were fourth-grade elementary students who participated in media trials and implementation. Instruments used in this study included questionnaires, interview guides, observation sheets, and learning outcome tests. Data collection was conducted through expert validation, limited trials, and classroom application. The analysis utilized descriptive quantitative techniques to determine the media's feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness. Expert evaluations showed that the developed media was appropriate and relevant to the learning content. Responses from teachers and students also indicated that the media was easy to use and engaging. The implementation phase revealed a marked increase in student learning interest, with questionnaire scores rising from 68.5% to 87.2%, and a significant improvement in learning outcomes, as average test scores increased from 72.4 to 85.6 after using the media. The integration of local content based on natural resources in the Special Region of Yogyakarta enhanced the media's contextual relevance and relatability to students. This study contributes to the field of elementary education by offering an innovative and adaptive digital media solution that supports independent and contextual learning, in line with the objectives of the current national curriculum.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the limitations of innovative learning media in internalizing students' character of responsibility in Pancasila education learning in elementary schools. The purpose of this study was to analyze the need for interactive multimedia as a supporting medium for strengthening the character of responsibility. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and observations. The data were analyzed descriptively, using triangulation to enhance validity. The research subjects comprised 157 fourth-grade students and 10 teachers from elementary schools in the Kemantren Kraton area of Yogyakarta City. The results of the study indicate that students' sense of responsibility remains low, teacher-parent collaboration is not yet optimal, and there is a strong need for effective, contextually relevant interactive multimedia. These findings emphasize the need to develop interactive multimedia that not only supports the understanding of Pancasila Education material but also optimally strengthens the formation of character of responsibility in elementary school students.

Abstract

Pancasila Education plays a vital role in shaping student character in line with national values. However, its implementation in schools often remains suboptimal and does not reflect the evolving characteristics and needs of today’s learners. This study investigates the necessity for innovative, technology-integrated teaching materials to enhance the effectiveness of Pancasila Education. This qualitative research employed a case study approach. Data were collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires, and document analysis, involving teachers and students as key participants. The findings reveal a strong need among teachers for innovative and student-centred teaching materials, particularly those that leverage digital technologies to make learning more relevant and engaging. Although many schools are equipped with adequate technological infrastructure, teachers often face challenges in designing and integrating technology-based instructional tools into Pancasila Education. These challenges stem primarily from a lack of training and limited access to appropriate digital teaching resources. To optimize Pancasila Education, it is essential to develop teaching materials aligned with both technological advancements and students' learning characteristics. Teacher capacity-building programs focusing on digital pedagogy and instructional design are recommended. These efforts will not only improve the learning experience but also ensure that Pancasila values are effectively internalized by students in a way that resonates with the digital era.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to map the evolution, influence, and thematic structure of global research on Differentiated Instruction (DI) published between 2005 and 2025. It examines the field’s developmental trajectory, key contributors, and emerging research directions that reflect the growing emphasis on inclusive and adaptive education. Methods: A bibliometric approach was conducted using 743 documents indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection. Analyses were performed with RStudio and VOSviewer to assess publication growth, citation patterns, co-authorship networks, and keyword co-occurrences. The study also identified thematic clusters and trend topics to trace the conceptual and methodological development of DI scholarship over two decades. Results: The findings indicate an annual growth rate of 11.77%, demonstrating that DI has developed into a dynamic and interdisciplinary research domain. The United States, Germany, and China emerged as the most influential contributors, while Teaching and Teacher Education and the International Journal of Inclusive Education were identified as leading journals. Four dominant research clusters were revealed: inclusive education, teacher professional development, technology integration, and student achievement. Novelty: This study provides the first comprehensive bibliometric mapping of DI research spanning 20 years, highlighting the shift from traditional differentiation toward digitally adaptive and equity-oriented pedagogies. The findings offer an evidence-based overview that supports the advancement of 21st-century inclusive teaching.

Abstract

Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in IPAS (Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial) has emerged as a promising pedagogical approach to integrating Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into elementary education. This literature review synthesizes recent studies (2021–2025) on the implementation of PjBL in IPAS and its impact on environmental awareness among elementary school students. The review reveals that PjBL fosters active learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills by engaging students in real-world environmental projects such as waste management, biodiversity conservation, and eco-campaigns. These activities align with SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production). Findings indicate that PjBL significantly enhances students’ understanding of sustainability issues and promotes pro-environmental behaviors. The study concludes that PjBL-IPAS learning offers a transformative pathway to cultivating environmentally conscious citizens and advancing the SDGs through foundational education.
