Abstract

The project focuses on the effect of applying inquiry-based strategies in history education concerning the learning engagement levels of tenth-grade students at SMAS Kemala Bhayangkari 01 Kubu Raya. The identified problem is students' low learning motivation caused by conventional, monotonous, and less interactive teaching methods. This research utilized a quasi-experimental method to analyze the transformation in learners’ motivation before and after the inquiry model is introduced. This model emphasizes exploration, investigation, and problem-solving activities conducted independently or in groups. The results demonstrate a rise in student motivation after implementing the inquiry-based learning model, reflected in their greater involvement through asking questions, participating in discussions, and focusing on lesson content. These findings indicate that the inquiry-based learning model effectively improves students' motivation to learn history in grade X at SMAS Kemala Bhayangkari 01 Kubu Raya. This study recommends educators adopt innovative teaching strategies to address low motivation and enhance the overall quality of learning.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of having good English language skills. Good English language skills in elementary school students can open up a wide range of experiences and knowledge to help them understand the world more broadly. The purpose of this study was to produce a product that can support English language learning through interactive media so that learning becomes more meaningful and contextual. This study used a mixed-method approach with a Research and Development (R&D) design employing the ADDIE model, which was limited to three main stages, namely Analysis, Design, and Development, with a sample of 24 third-grade students from SDS Adicita Mulia selected through purposive sampling. Data were obtained from various sources, including interviews, observations, expert validation results, and product usage response questionnaires from teachers and students, and were analyzed using Likert scale analysis techniques and percentage calculations. The results of the study indicate that the Flap Book media were developed in accordance with students’ needs and the learning outcomes of the Merdeka Curriculum Phase B. These findings are in line with the research objectives and reinforce Piaget’s theory, which states that students aged 7–11 years are in the concrete operational stage and require concrete supporting media in their learning development stage. The main conclusion of this study is that interactive books such as Flap Book are suitable media for the developmental stage and learning styles of students in the concrete operational stage.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Gamma-assisted Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in enhancing students' interest in learning Sociology in class X-A at SMAN 1 Tayan Hilir. The study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews with Sociology teachers, students, and the Vice Principal in charge of Curriculum, as well as documentation. Data analysis is carried out interactively through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that the application of the Gamma-assisted PBL model can increase students' interest in learning, as indicated by improved focus, active participation in discussions, engagement in problem-solving, and better learning outcomes. Using Gamma as an interactive learning medium helps students understand the material through engaging visual displays and supports group collaboration. Although teacher guidance is still needed to verify the content generated by AI, overall, the PBL model assisted by Gamma is effective in increasing students' interest in learning Sociology.
