Abstract

The sets concept that still be the problems for students of class VII at SMPN 15 Mataram. The average of daily test score on the material sets of students of class VII is 60.45 with 38.81% of classical completeness. It means that most of seventh grade students make mistakes in order to complete the daily test questions related to the concept of the sets. The aim of this research is to identify an error to solve the question of sets by students of seventh grade at SMPN 15 Mataram in academic year 2017/2018. In addition, this study is conducted to determine the level of error to solve about the sets material, and to see the relationship of every types of error with the overall error in order to solve the question of sets. The type of this research is descriptive research of quantitative type. The data analysis technique used in this research is statistical descriptive data analysis and correlation analysis of pearson product moment test. The result of the research shows that the dominant error of students is the type of error using theorem, definition, or formula with error percentage 56.19%. Based on the basic competence of the sets material, students make the most mistake on basic competence 4.5 with percentage of error of 61.71%. In addition, the type of error using the data is stronger relation with a correlation coefficient 0.89 which is very strong category.

Abstract

The research was aim to describe the ability of class VIII SMP Negeri 6 students 2020/2021 academic year in solving problems on HOTS questions nased on student learning achievement. This research is classified as qualitative-descriptive research. The subjects of this research were 37 students of class VIII D and VIII E of SMP Negeri 6 Mataram on the 2020/2021 academic year, the subjects were grouped according to the results of a high, medium, and low mathematics learning achievement by using results of the odd semester test for the 2020/2021 academic year as the reference. Data collection techniques used is test techniques and interview techniques. The test technique is 2 HOTS solving ability questions for number pattern material. The interview technique was used to obtain detailed information about the students' views on problem-solving steps on the questions. The results of HOTS problem-solving ability test were analyzed according to Polya stages of problem-solving abilities. Based on the results of data analysis of groups with high learning achievement students, 75% of students met the indicators of the stages of understanding problems and planning solutions, 100% of students fulfilled the stages of completing settlements, and no students were able to meet the stages of re-examination. From the group of students with moderate learning achievement, 70.6% of students were able to meet the stages of understanding the problem, 58.8% of students met the stages of planning a solution, and 35.3% of students fulfilled the stages of solving problems and checking back. From the group of students with low learning achievement, only 6.3% of students were able to fulfill the stages of understanding the problem, the rest were unable to fulfill the four stages of problem-solving Polya.

Abstract

This study aims to describe mathematical problem-solving in terms of students solving competitive questions with Polya indicator. The research approach used is a qualitative approach to the type of quantitative research. The research subjects of class X MIPA SMAN 5 Mataram academic year 2020/2021 were selected by purposive sampling. The research subjects were 2 students with a high level of mathematical logical intelligence, 2 students with a moderate level of mathematical logical intelligence, and 2 students with a low level of mathematical logical intelligence. Data collection techniques in this study were written tests and interviews. Data analysis is performed starting from data reduction, data presentation, and then drawing conclusions. The result shows that (i) mathematical problem-solving students with high mathematical logical intelligence are able to solve the problems from each step of solving Polya correctly; (ii) mathematical problem-solving students with mathematical logical intelligence are able to meet the three Indicators of problem-solving based on Polya's steps, although it is not yet optimal; (iii) students mathematical problem-solving in terms of low mathematical logical intelligence is not able to solve problems based on Polya's steps correctly.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the family environment and learning facilities on the mathematics learning achievement of class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Lingsar on the circle material. The type of research used is causal comparative (ex post facto) with a quantitative approach, the data collection techniques used in this study are questionnaires and tests. The population in this study were all students of class VIII, totaling 120 students and the sample used was 24 students. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used was simple linear regression and multiple linear regression which had previously been tested for analysis prerequisites, namely normality test, linearity test, and multicollinearity test. The results obtained indicate that the family environment and learning facilities have a significant effect on mathematics learning achievement for class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Lingsar on the Circle material with an effect of 77.70%, while the remaining 22.30% is influenced by variables not examined.

Abstract

The formulation of the problem in this research is to find out how difficult it is to understand students' concepts in the material of flat-sided geometry in terms of metacognition skills in class VIII A students of SMPN 3 Narmada for the 2020/2021 academic year. This study aims to describe the difficulty of understanding concepts in the flat-sided geometrical material in terms of the metacognitive skills of class VIII A students for the 2020/2021 academic year. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII A as many as 33 students. Data collection in this study was carried out using research instruments in the form of questionnaires, tests, and interviews. The results showed that students with high metacognitive skill category could fulfill all indicators of concept understanding. Students who have moderate metacognition skills can only fulfill two indicators of concept understanding, namely restating a concept, and applying the concept algorithmically. And students who have low metacognitive skills are only able to fulfill one indicator.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the effect of the use of Daring Unram on students’ learning motivation and learning outcomes in the Mathematics Education Study Program, University of Mataram. This type of research is causal comparative quantitative research (ex-post facto). The research population is Mathematics Education students class 2018, 2019, and 2020 who have studied online using Daring Unram in the even semester 2020/2021with a total of 419 people. Sampling uses a a cluster random sampling technique using the Slovin method so that there are 81 respondents for the study. The instrument in this study used a closed questionnaire with a Likert scale. Data were analyzed with the help of SPSS version 21. The results showed that: (1) There is a significant effect of the use of Daring Unram on students’ learning motivation with a value of . Furthermore, determination analysis is performed to see the magnitude of the infuence given by the use of Daring Unram on students’ learning motivation and obtained an R Square value of 0.239. This value means that the contribution given by the use of Daring Unram to students’ learning motivation is 23.9% with an enough relationship level; (2) There is a significant effect of the use of Daring Unram on students’ learning outcomes with a value of . Furthermore, determination analysis is performed to see the magnitude of the infuence given by the use of Daring Unram on students’ learning outcomes and obtained an R Square value of 0.270. This value means that the contribution given by the use of Daring Unram to students’ learning outcomes is 27% with an enough relationship level.

Abstract

Kemampuan memecahkan masalah merupakan salah satu keterampilan yang dibutuhkan sumber daya manusia sebagai tolak ukur pelatihan pola pikir. Selain itu, jika ada kemauan untuk belajar maka hasil belajar akan optimal. Semakin siswa termotivasi, semakin tinggi hasil belajar yang akan mereka capai. Kenyataannya, di SMAN 7 Mataram  prestasi masih kurang yang diduga diakibatkan oleh keterampilan pemecahan masalah yang rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh motivasi belajar siswa terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika pada materi MIPA Kelas XI SMAN7 Mataram.  Penelitian Ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XIMIPA SMAN 7 Mataram yang menggunakan teknik purfosive sampling sebanyak 67 subjek yang terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu XI MIPA1 dan XI MIPA3. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah angket (kuisioner), soal tes, dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil model persamaan regresi Ŷ = 25,130 + 0,598 X dan hasil perhitungan memberikan nilai = 12,133> 3,99 dan nilai = 3,483 >  = 1,999. Hal ini berpengaruh signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar siswa dalam memecahkan masalah matematika kelas XI MIPA SMAN 7 Mataram. Dari model regresi dapat ditegaskan bahwa untuk setiap kenaikan 1% nilai motivasi belajar maka nilai kemampuan bertambah 0,598 untuk menyelesaikan masalah. Selain itu, dilakukan analisis koefisien determinasi untuk mengetahui besarnya pengaruh motivasi belajar terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika, dan kontribusi motivasi belajar terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika yaitu sebesar 15,7%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) the types of errors of students of class VIII-6 of SMP in solving problems with the circle subject. 2) the factors that cause students of class VIII-6 of SMP to make mistakes in solving problems with the circle subject. This research is classified as descriptive quantitative research. The population in this study were all students of class VIII-6 SMP which consisted of seven classes. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. The research subjects were students of class VIII-6 SMP as many as 28 students. The research procedure used in this research is written test and interview. The test was used to analyze reading errors, comprehension errors, transformation errors, processing skills error and encoding error. Meanwhile, interviews are used to trace students mistakes in depth. The instrument testing conducted was a content validity tester in consultation with experts, namely mathematics teachers and leacturers. The result showed that there were 5 types of error categories committed by students of SMP, namely: 1) reading errors of 13,94% were in the low error category. 2) comprehension error of 47,61% is in the sufficient error category. 3) transformation error of 57,53% is in the sufficient error category. 4) process skills error as much as 66,66% in the high error category. 5) encoding error of 94,39% in the very high error category..

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the level and relationship of mathematical problem solving students based on the Adversity Quotient (AQ) level on year academic 2019/2020. The research metodology used was questionnaires, tests, and interviews. The results showed that the AQ level of 8th grade students was generally dominant at the moderate AQ level (camper), that is 23 students (71.88%) from 32 students who took the questionnaire. In solving mathematical problems according to the Polya stage, students who are at a high AQ level (climber) have moderate abilities at the stage of understand the problem, devise and carry out the plans to solve the problem, and having abilities with a low level at the stage of look back. Students at the moderate AQ level (campers) have moderate abilities at the stage of understand the problem, have good abilities at the stage of devise and carry out the plans to solve the problem, and have low levels of ability at the stage of look back. Students at a low AQ level (quitter) have moderate abilities at the stage of understand the problem, devise and carry out the plans to solve the problem, and having a low level ability at the stage of look back. Based on the Spearman rank, it was found that there was a relationship between the AQ level and the students' mathematical problem solving ability, but it was classified as very low and only had an effect of 1.21%. This is because the climbers have not been able to carry out all stages of Polya's problem solving well, the habits of students who only rely on memorizing formulas when facing math problems, and the habit of discussing when written tests take place which makes students unable to focus optimally in solving problems.

Abstract

The problem of scheduling learning activities at SMKN 4 Mataram is the same teachers are scheduled at the same time in two class or more. The coloring graph concept can be used to find out the causes of the scheduling problems at SMKN 4 Mataram. Based on result of the application coloring graph concept generated to the chromatic number is 23 with slots number is 46 which is smaller than 55 or time slots at SMKN 4 Mataram. Because slots of chromatic number are smaller than the time slots at SMKN 4 Mataram, it is known that the causes of scheduling problems at SMKN 4 Mataram are wrong scheduling way. One of solution to this problem is to compile a schedule based on the coloring graph concept by mapping 419 subjects with 84 teachers and 55 time slots spread from Monday to Saturday. In applying the coloring graph concept, the Largest Degree Ordering (LDO) algorithm is used. It is because this algorithm is simpler than other algorithms.
