Abstract

This study aims to analyze the social impacts, income inequality, sustainability of community-based waste management programs, and the effectiveness of the implementation of Governor Regulation No. 10 of 2022 in managing tourist villages in Bali. A qualitative approach was employed by integrating literature studies, in-depth interviews, and policy analysis. The findings reveal that the management of tourist villages has significant social impacts on local communities, including increased economic dependence on tourism and shifts in traditional cultural values. Income inequality among tourist villages is influenced by accessibility, management quality, and infrastructure. The sustainability of community-based waste management programs relies heavily on the active participation of younger generations in fostering environmental awareness. Meanwhile, the implementation of Governor Regulation No. 10 of 2022 faces challenges such as limited accessibility to remote villages and insufficient human resource capacity. This study also highlights that digitalization, through the utilization of social media and augmented reality (AR) technology, can serve as an effective strategy to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of tourist villages.

Abstract

This study examines the development of community-based tourism villages as a foundation for sustainable development aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Bongkasa Pertiwi Tourism Village in Badung Regency has significant tourism potential, but its community empowerment strategies are suboptimal. The objectives of this study include analyzing the implemented empowerment strategies, identifying supporting and inhibiting factors, and evaluating the strategies' contribution to the formation of a sustainable community. Using a qualitative approach, the study involved village communities, tourism managers, and the local government as key informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results indicate that empowerment strategies include capacity building training, strengthening village institutions, and developing local culture-based attractions. The main supporting factors are community solidarity, government support, and natural and cultural potential. Conversely, limited human resources (HR), access to funding, and suboptimal promotion are inhibiting factors. Nevertheless, the empowerment strategies in Bongkasa Pertiwi have positively contributed to sustainable community development, although further managerial and economic optimization remains crucial.

Abstract

Research purposes This study aims to identify tourist preferences for four types of tourism activities classified under the NEWA concept: Nature , Ecotourism , Wellness , and Adventure . It also reveals how tourists prioritize these activities during their visits, thus providing in-depth insights into what tourists are most interested in. The expected benefit is to assist tourism village managers, policy makers, and tourism industry players in designing and developing tourism products and services that are more in line with market preferences. The type of research is descriptive quantitative with a survey data collection method using a questionnaire instrument. Respondents numbered 200 people who were domestic and international tourists visiting tourist attractions in Bali, including Kuta Beach, Ubud, Tanah Lot, and Kintamani. The data analysis technique used was descriptive statistical analysis. The results found that the majority of tourists showed a strong interest in tourism villages, especially those based on the NEWA concept. This indicates a great potential for the development of tourism villages that prioritize elements of nature, sustainability, and health, which is in line with the global trend of tourism that is increasingly concerned with the environment and well-being. Nature -based activities ranked highest in terms of tourist interest, followed by Adventure, Wellness , and Eco- friendly NEWA activities . This reflects that tourists tend to be more interested in experiences that involve direct interaction with nature, whether through environmental exploration, adventure, or activities that support health and well-being in the outdoors

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the development strategy of pineapple processing bussiness in Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan. Pineapple is a leading commodity in the region with significant potential to be developed into value-added processed products such as jams, syrups, dodol, and chips. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive with a case study approach. Data analysis techniques employ SWOT Analysis to identify internal and external factors affecting pineapple processing businesses. The results indicate that the main strength lies in the availability of raw materials and the distinctive taste of local pineapples. The primary weakness is the limited knowledge of processing and marketing. Significant opportunities arise from the trend of local food consumption and government support, while threats come from limited market access and competition from similar products. The suggested strategies include product diversification, strengthening human resource capacity, and digital marketing.

Abstract

Abstract

The implementation of Gianyar Regency Regional Regulation Number 7 of 2014 on Smoke-Free Areas (KTR) in Ubud Tourism Village is influenced by policy communication, resources, implementers’ disposition, and bureaucratic structure. Key issues include limited socialization with tourists and business owners, insufficient English-language signage, lack of enforcement officers, and the absence of designated smoking areas at major tourism spots. This study applied a descriptive qualitative approach using Edward III’s theory of implementation. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analyses. The findings indicate that KTR implementation remains suboptimal, as shown by frequent violations in markets, restaurants, and tourist attractions. Business owners are reluctant to warn tourists, inter-agency coordination is weak, and customary villages have not integrated KTR into local pararem activities. In conclusion, KTR implementation in Ubud remains largely normative and requires collaborative strategies among the government, customary villages, tourism actors, and the community to achieve healthier and smoke-free tourist areas.

Abstract

The implementation of alcohol Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at Auburn University Hotel faces challenges in consistency, especially during large events. This study evaluates and optimizes SOP implementation using direct observation and in-depth interviews. Observations monitored waiters’ real-time compliance, while interviews with managers, supervisors, and waiters explored consistency issues and obstacles. Results reveal that although 14 SOPs are provided, four—approaching the host, serving women first, pouring from the right side, and avoiding bottle-glass contact—are not optimally implemented. External factors such as limited space, time pressure, and guest service priorities often hinder execution. Interviews suggested three optimization strategies: continuous training, enhanced supervision, and regular evaluation with flexible SOP adjustments
