Abstract

Edible film merupakan plastik tipis dengan ketebalan kurang dari 0.3 mm dan berfungsi untuk melindungi produk makanan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menentukan pengaruh penambahan kitosan pada edible film yang terbuat dari pati bonggol pisang terhadap sifat mekanik dan biodegradasi edible film. Variasi konsentrasi kitosan yang ditambahkan sebanyak 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, dan 2%. Berdasarkan hasil analisa yang telah dilakukan diperoleh data bahwa penambahan kitosan memperngaruhi nilai kuat tarik dan biodegradasi dari edible film. Kuat tarik maksimum didapatkan dengan penambahan kitosan 1% sebesar 7,30 Mpa. Biodegradasi edible film semakin menurun dengan penambahan kitosan. Edible film tanpa penambahan kitosan memiliki nilai biodegradasi sebesar 50,97%, sedangkan edible film dengan penambahan kitosan 0,5%, 1%, 1,5%, dan 2% memiliki nilai biodegradasi sebesar 45,05%, 38,74%, 31,55%, dan 18,68%.

Abstract

Caught fish that have been processed into abon fish increase the sale value of fish. Increasing the selling value of fish and developing business opportunities can increase fishermen's household income and become one of the solutions to poverty in coastal regions. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the production of the catch and income of traditional fishermen's fishing business. This study aims to analyze a dynamic system model of increasing fishermen's income through the abon fish processing industry in Pasie Nan Tigo Village, Koto Tangah Sub-district - Padang City. This study uses a dynamic systems modeling approach in analyzing the added value of abon fish processing. The results showed that in a scenario with a distribution proportion of 70%: 30%, the sales value of products that undergo processing (abon fish) is higher than raw fish sold without undergoing any processing. The ratio of the sales value between processed abon fish to raw fish sold without undergoing any processing is 115:100. This means that the same volume of fish processing (abon fish) has increased the sale value of raw fish by 15%. This sales value ratio will certainly increase fishermen's income.

Abstract

Edible film is a thin plastic with a thickness of less than 0.25 mm which serves to protect food products. This study aims to determine the effect of adding carrageenan to edible films made from cassava peel starch (Manihot utilissima) on the mechanical properties and biodegradation of edible films. This experimental study varied the addition of carrageenan with various concentrations of 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, 2%. In this edible film, data obtained that the addition of carrageenan affects the tensile strength and biodegradation of the edible film. The maximum tensile strength was obtained by adding 18.54 MPa of carrageenan. Biodegradation of edible film is increasing along with the addition of carrageenan. The mechanical properties obtained in this study have met the standard of JIS Z1707 edible film.

Abstract

Edible film is a thin plastic with a thickness of less than 0,25 mm and serves to protect food products. This study aims to determine the effect of adding carrageenan to edible film made from jackfruit seed starch (Artocarpus heterophyllus) on thickness, tensile strength, biodegradation and functional group analysis using the FTIR technique. This research was conducted by varying the concentration of carrageenan used, namely 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5% and 2%. Based on the results of the analysis carried out, the addition of carrageenan affects the thickness, tensile strength and biodegradation of edible films. The maximum tensile strength was found in the addition of 1.5% carrageenan, which was 13.315 MPa, while the thickness and biodegradation increased with increasing carrageenan concentration. The tensile strength and thickness values obtained on the edible film have met the JIS ZI 707 standard edible film.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of adding chitosan to edible films made from cassava peel starch on the tensile strength and biodegradation of edible films. Variations in the concentration of chitosan added were 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5% and 2%. Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out, it is obtained data that the addition of chitosan affects the tensile strength and biodegradation of the edible film. The maximum tensile strength value was obtained with the addition of 1% chitosan of 14.91 Mpa. Biodegradation of edible film decreases with the addition of chitosan. Edible film without the addition of chitosan has a biodegradation value of 55.64%, while the edible film with the addition of 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, and 2% chitosan has a biodegradation value of 43.72%, 24.15%, 17.61% and 10.98%. The tensile strength value obtained has met the standard value of JIS Z1707 edible film.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the optimum conditions for the effect of adding carrageenan to edible films made from banana weevil starch on the chemical structure, mechanical properties and physical properties, and to compare the mechanical properties of edible films. This research was conducted by adding polyethylene glycol with a concentration of 4% and varying carrageenan with a concentration of 0%; 0.5%; 1%; 1.5%; and 2%. The optimum conditions for the addition of carrageenan were found at a concentration of 1%, with a tensile strength value of 28.76 Mpa, and an elasticity value of 2311.83 Mpa. As for the physical properties, namely thickness and biodegradation, the value increased with increasing carrageenan concentration. Spectra of edible film without carrageenan and edible film with the addition of OH at the addition of OH at wave numbers 3500 – 3200 cm-1, CH at wave numbers 3000 – 2800 cm-1, and CO at wave numbers 1085 – 1050 cm -1

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of adding chitosan to edible film made from jackfruit seed starch on the mechanical properties and biodegradation of edible films. The addition of variation in the concentration of chitosan as much as 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5% and 2%. Based on the results of the analysis of the data obtained, it is stated that the adition of chitosn affects the thickness, tensile strength and biodegradation of the edible films. The maximum tensile strength was obtained with the addition of 1% chitosan concentration of 13.9 Mpa. The tickness of the edible film increases with the addition of the concentration of chitosan, while the biodegradation of the edible film decreases with the addition of the concentration of chitosan.

Abstract

Sampah merupakan salah satu persoalan mendasar terhadap lingkungan di Kelurahan Teluk Kabung Tengah, Kecamatan Bungus Teluk Kabung. Pengelolaan yang tidak tepat terhadap sampah menyebabkan pencemaran terhadap lingkungan terutama jika dibuang begitu saja pada aliran sungai yang bermuara pada pantai, bahkan dapat menyebabkan bencana banjir terhadap area pemukiman. Untuk mengatasi dampak pencemaran lingkungan dari pembuangan sampah perlu adanya solusi, yaitu penyuluhan dan edukasi mengenai bagaimana pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga diantaranya dengan memilah sampah sebelum dibuang dan menerapkan metode 3R (reuse, reduce dan recycle). Melalui sosialisasi, edukasi dan aplikasi pada masyarakat khususnya ibu-ibu Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK), kegiatan pengabdian ini secara keseluruhan dapat menjadi solusi permasalahan sampah dari hulu. Diantara penerapan metode 3R yang telah diaplikasikan pada masyarakat yaitu dengan melakukan daur ulang sampah organik rumah tangga oleh ibu ibu-ibu PKK menjadi beberapa produk yang bernilai ekonomis, yaitu Eco-enzyme, Pupuk Organik Cair (POC), dan kompos. Dengan diberikannya penyuluhan dan edukasi mengenai pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga pada kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat di kelurahan Teluk Kabung Tengah Kecamatan Bungus Teluk Kabung pada akhirnya dapat mendukung tercapainya kondisi lingkungan yang bersih, sehat dan nyaman. Waste is one of the fundamental environmental problems in Teluk Kabung Tengah urban village, Bungus Teluk Kabung sub-district. Improper management of waste causes pollution to the environment, especially if it is simply disposed of in the river that empties into the beach, and can even cause floods to residential areas. To overcome the impact of environmental pollution from waste disposal, a solution is needed, namely counseling and education on how to manage household waste, including sorting waste before disposal and applying the 3R method (reuse, reduce and recycle). Through socialization, education and application to the community, especially mothers of Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK), this community service activity can be a solution to the upstream waste problem. Among the applications of the 3R method that have been applied to the community are recycling household organic waste by PKK mothers into several economically valuable products, namely Eco-enzyme, Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC), and compost. By providing counseling and education on household waste management in community service activities in Teluk Kabung Tengah urban village, Bungus Teluk Kabung sub-district, it can ultimately support the achievement of clean, healthy and comfortable environmental conditions.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze the learning process of electrolysis cell matter which covered the planning, implementation, and evaluation; and analysis of theunderstanding of students’ concept (conception)  as well as the finding of the cause of the misconceptions and not understanding in matter of electrolysis cell. The study used was descriptive analysis. It was used to answer the problem’s formulation in this study. The object of this research were the process of learning and students’ conceptions. The subjects of this study were students in grade XII IA I and IA II and chemistry teacher in grade XII IA at SMAN 1  Panti. Instruments in this study were the observation guide, a recorder (Handycam) and two tier diagnostic test.Based on the data analysis, it is found that (1) learning process in the electrolysis cell matter in SMAN 1 Panti was not in accordance with the standards of process (2) Students IA I and IA II had misconceptions and did not understand the whole concept in electrolysis cell matter. (3) The cause of misconceptions and not understanding of students were mainly the teachers and students. The learning process should be conducted in accordance with the standards of process that has been established by government in order to ensure learning carried out effectively, so the quality of learning can be improved.Kata kunci: analisis, proses pembelajaran, elektrokimia

Abstract

The disaster that occurred in the Mentawai Islands district has become a cultural shaping factor. Thus, this forms local wisdom to survive and adapt to natural disasters that often occur. This study aims to determine the role of local wisdom in the Mentawai people in disaster mitigation efforts. This type of research is research that uses a systematic review method (Systematic Review). The stages of literature collection refer to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines. This study shows that there are several local pearls of wisdom in the form of disaster mitigation that are owned by the Mentawai people, including the arat sabulungan belief that teaches humans to treat nature, plants, water, and animals like him. In addition, there is an Umma (Mentawai Tribe Community House) which was built in a collaborative manner made from natural materials obtained from the forest with the building construction being strong and flexible enough so that it can withstand earthquake shocks. Apart from that, there is the Mentawai Folklore (Sitakkigagailau and Pagetasabbau) which is a picture of their cosmology towards the harmony of life with the natural, social and cultural environment. Based on the results of the study found, it can be concluded that the local wisdom of the Mentawai people plays an important role in mitigating disasters that occur in the Mentawai archipelago district.
