Abstract

Verbal bullying in elementary schools remains a persistent problem that is often overlooked as a normal aspect of children's social interaction, despite its potential psychological and socio-emotional consequences. This study aims to examine how teachers’ interpersonal communication strategies facilitate the internalization of Islamic values in addressing verbal bullying among elementary school students. A qualitative case study design was employed in an Islamic elementary school in West Java, Indonesia. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis involving four teachers and nine students. Data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model, including data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal three interconnected communication strategies; i) preventive communication through role modeling (uswah hasanah) and greeting habituation; ii) responsive communication through gentle speech (qawlan layyinan) and empathetic dialogue; and iii) restorative communication through personal advice (mau‘izah hasanah) and the reinforcement of brotherhood values (ukhuwwah). These strategies facilitated the internalization of Islamic values such as rahmah (compassion), ‘iffah al-lisan (ethical speech), and ta‘āwun (mutual assistance), which contributed to reducing verbal bullying tendencies and strengthening students’ awareness of respectful communication. This study contributes to the literature on Islamic educational communication by proposing a value-based interpersonal communication framework for bullying prevention and intervention in elementary school settings.

Abstract

Accurate demand forecasting is essential for salt-processing enterprises because fluctuating demand can affect production planning, inventory control, and distribution efficiency. This study examines the demand for table salt products at CV Restu Ibu by applying the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average with Exogenous Variables (ARIMAX) model using product price as an external predictor. Monthly sales and price data for 1 kg, 2 kg, and 4 kg packaging sizes from January 2018 to December 2025 were analyzed through the Box–Jenkins procedure, including stationarity testing, model identification, parameter estimation, diagnostic checking, forecast evaluation, and projection for 2026–2028. The results show that all demand series became stationary after first-order differencing. The best models were ARIMAX (2,1,1) for the 1 kg product, ARIMAX (1,1,1) for the 2 kg product, and ARIMAX (0,1,1) for the 4 kg product. Diagnostic testing using the Ljung–Box test confirmed that all selected models satisfied the white-noise residual assumption. The forecasting accuracy was excellent, with Mean Absolute Percentage Error values of 2.363%, 2.824%, and 1.559%, respectively. The forecast results indicate a declining demand trend for the 1 kg product, an increasing trend for the 2 kg product, and a fluctuating pattern for the 4 kg product. These findings demonstrate that incorporating price information improves the representation of demand dynamics and supports product-specific forecasting for price-sensitive salt products. The study also confirms that packaging size produces heterogeneous demand behavior, making differentiated forecasting more appropriate than a single aggregate demand model in practice.

Abstract

This study examines the strategy of internalizing discipline values through an integrated point system at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor Campus 7 Kalianda, South Lampung. The research background involves serious problems related to student discipline, including tardiness, absenteeism, and violations of internal pesantren rules. This study aims to analyze the process of internalizing discipline values, the strategies applied, and the impact of the integrated point system on the formation of students' disciplined character. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with caregivers, teachers, OPPM administrators, and students, as well as documentation analysis. The results show that the integrated point system at Gontor Campus 7 is implemented through POACE management functions (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling, Evaluating) managed by the Modern Pesantren Student Organization (OPPM). The internalization process includes three stages: introduction of rules, habituation, and continuous supervision. Forms of reward include praise, reduction of violation points, and granting of leadership responsibilities, while punishment is educative such as additional tasks, special coaching, and temporary revocation of rights. The impact of this system is proven significant in improving student discipline, reducing the number of violations, and creating a conducive pesantren environment. This study recommends strengthening the socialization of the point system to new students and developing a digital-based system to improve transparency and efficiency.

Abstract

Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) are high-level thinking skills that include analytical, evaluative, and creative abilities. HOTS is essential in 21st-century education, where students are expected not only to recall information but also to think critically and creatively in facing various challenges. This study aims to determine the improvement of students' HOTS through the application of the Bridging Analogy learning model. The research design employed a quasi-experimental approach with one experimental class and one control class. The instruments used in this study were a HOTS test for Matrix material and a student learning activity questionnaire. Research data were analyzed using statistical analysis with SPSS. The ANCOVA results showed that the Bridging Analogy learning model significantly influenced students' HOTS. The data analysis also revealed that the average HOTS score of students in the experimental class (84.73) was higher than that of the control class, which used conventional learning (55). These findings indicate that the implementation of the Bridging Analogy learning model effectively enhances students' HOTS compared to conventional learning. This research contributes to the development of innovative learning models that support the improvement of students' higher-order thinking skills in mathematics education.

Abstract

The level of achievement of these goals can be determined through performance measurement. Performance is an overview of the level of achievement in implementing an activity, program, or policy to realize the organization's targets, objectives, mission, and vision as outlined in its strategic planning (Mahsun, 2006: 25). The Balanced Scorecard is a strategic management system that transforms an organization's vision into a set of integrated performance measures. This system ensures a balance between outcome measures and future performance drivers, as well as between internal and external performance. Performance measurement in educational institutions often focuses too heavily on short-term financial or academic aspects, making it less capable of reflecting the institution's readiness to face changing times. To achieve sustainability and ideal educational quality, it is necessary to improve performance in educational institutions through the Balanced Scorecard approach.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyse the implementation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in 21st-century learning systems and its contribution to improving the quality of teaching and learning. The study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to identify, evaluate, and synthesise findings from relevant national and international studies on ICT integration in education. The review indicates that ICT plays a significant role in fostering students’ 21st-century competencies, particularly the 4C skills: critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication. ICT also promotes student-centred learning, increases engagement, and supports flexible and interactive instructional practices. However, its implementation remains constrained by inadequate technological infrastructure, limited internet accessibility, insufficient digital resources, and teachers’ varying levels of digital competence and pedagogical readiness. Addressing these challenges requires improved access to technology, sustainable professional development programs, and supportive educational policies. Effective and well-planned ICT integration can optimise learning outcomes, strengthen educational quality, and provide valuable directions for future research on technology-enhanced learning environments.

Abstract

This study aims to compare character education management policies and practices at the primary education level across ten countries (Indonesia, USA, Saudi Arabia, Australia, UK, Japan, Germany, Malaysia, Singapore, and China) through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method using the PRISMA protocol. Analysis of literature from 2015–2025 identifies three main clusters of approaches: (1) Eastern Values and Discipline-based approaches which are centralized and monolithic (Japan, China, Singapore); (2) Democratic Citizenship and Individual-based approaches emphasizing autonomy and curriculum integration (USA, UK, Australia, Germany); and (3) Religious and National Identity-based approaches (Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Indonesia). The findings reveal significant variations in implementation strategies across subjects and curriculum integration, as well as in teacher roles, ranging from authoritative moral role models to ethical discussion facilitators. This study concludes that while no single model is universally effective, Indonesia can strengthen its system by adopting systematic habituation mechanisms from East Asia and critical reasoning development from the West to complement its strong religious value basis.

Abstract

The integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in primary education requires more than providing digital devices; it demands a systematic governance model that connects instructional design, curriculum integration, teacher competence, leadership, and evaluation. This study aims to review and synthesize literature on ICT-based learning governance in primary schools (SD/MI), with specific attention to four review items: learning design and evaluation, TPACK-based curriculum integration, the changing role of teachers, and determinant factors affecting implementation, particularly principal e-leadership and digital learning barriers. This study employed a structured narrative literature review supported by a PRISMA-inspired selection process. The selected literature was analyzed thematically by grouping the findings into governance, actor roles, and determinant factors. The results show that effective ICT-based learning governance in primary schools requires structured instructional design through models such as ADDIE, continuous evaluation through frameworks such as CIPP, and curriculum integration guided by TPACK. The findings also indicate that teachers need to shift from being knowledge transmitters to learning designers and facilitators who can align digital tools with pedagogical strategies and subject content. Furthermore, principal e-leadership emerges as a key determinant in building vision, providing infrastructure, supporting teacher training, and supervising digital learning practices. However, implementation is still challenged by digital divides, limited teacher competence, technical burdens, and pedagogical resistance. This study concludes that the success of digital learning in primary schools depends on integrating TPACK-oriented teacher development, systematic learning governance, and strong principal e-leadership

Abstract

The implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) at Private Islamic Religious Higher Education Institutions (PTKIS) often faces challenges such as a weak quality culture, inconsistent follow-up, and the perception that accreditation is merely administrative. Furthermore, digitalization through the Sapto 2.0 platform has given rise to new shortcomings: reliance on a manual reminder approach in reporting lecturer grades, gaps in data markup in Student Lecture Activity (AKM) reports, and inconsistencies in the Semester Credit Unit (SKS) system during accreditation. This study aims to analyze the implementation of SPMI and responses to external quality assurance at Ma'arif University, Lampung, with a focus on the PPEPP cycle (Determination, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, Improvement). A qualitative case study approach was used. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 10 informants (leaders, Head of LPM, heads of study programs, lecturers, and educational staff), documentation studies, and observations. The results indicate that structurally, SPMI is implemented through an annual PPEPP cycle that produces a measurable follow-up plan. However, three critical deficiencies were found: (1) the practice of marking up AKM data prior to accreditation due to target pressures and system weaknesses, (2) inconsistencies in recording credits between RPS and transcripts due to unvalidated data migration, and (3) the lack of connection between the internal quality reporting system and the graduate tracer study. The response to external quality assurance (LAMDIK assessment) provided a moment for reflection, but without transparent digital improvements, the synergy between SPMI and SPME remains vulnerable to administrative manipulation. It was concluded that continuous quality improvement in PTKIS requires a reliable electronic quality assurance system, with an audit trail, and integrated with the tracer study, not just an annual cycle formality.
