Abstract

This research is a descriptive correlation study that aims to reveal the relationship between learning motivation and learning outcomes of students' biology. This study uses a correlational study approach because it connects two variables, namely two independent variables in the form of learning motivation and the dependent variable in the form of biology learning outcomes of students. The technique used in sampling is purposive proportional random sampling, by determining the proportion according to the number of students in the school being studied. In this study, Pearson Product Moment using for conversion score analysis, score distribution, normality tests, and correlation analysis. This correlation analysis aims to determine the relationship between learning motivation and learning outcomes of biology. Furthermore, to see whether or not there is meaning in the research, the t-test is used and to see the contribution between the two variables using the coefficient determinant formula. The results show that there is a positive and meaningful relationship between learning motivation and learning outcomes of students in class X MIPA SMAN in Padang City with the value of tcount are 7.603, at the level of confidence 95% with db = 285, greater than ttable which is 1.650

Abstract

Student learning outcomes have not reached the minimum completeness criteria. Teachers have not measured the level of Multiple Intelligences (MI) and the student's interest in learning. The learning process is still teacher-centered. This is the problem facing the world of education in the 21st century. Efforts to overcome this problem are by measuring the relationship between MI and interest in learning biology with student learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the relationship between MI as a whole and the interest in learning collectively on students' learning outcomes in Biology subjects in class X Mathematics and Natural Sciences SMA Negeri in Padang City. This research is a descriptive study that was conducted in March-April at the public high schools in Padang City for the 2020/2021 school year. The sample was taken using a purposive, random sampling technique and obtained a sample of 297 students spread across five public schools in Padang. The research instrument used the questionnaire MI, the interest in learning questionnaire, and the question HOTS. The data in this study were analyzed using multiple correlations. The results showed that there was a close relationship between MI and interest in learning with the results of studying biology class X MIPA SMAN in the city of Padang

Abstract

The achievement of learning objectives can be seen from the learning outcomes obtained by students after the learning process. Appropriate learning strategies by paying attention to multiple intelligences in students can affect learning outcomes. This research aims to analyze the relationship of intelligence learning outcomes with the student's biological learning outcomes. This research was conducted on 1st-grade students of natural sciences at Padang High School. The sampling technique is stratified using purposive sampling and proportional random sampling. The research instrument used multiple intelligence questionnaires and multiple-choice questions. The data in this study were analyzed using the Spearman rank correlation test. The results showed that each multiple intelligences had a significant relationship with student learning outcomes, except for three types of intelligence: visual-spatial, physical kinesthetic, and intrapersonal intelligence

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of applying the Problem Solving learning model to the creative thinking abilities of grade VII students at one of the SMPN in Padang in 2019/2020. This type of research is a quasi-experimental study using the Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design. This study's population was all students of class VII at one of the SMPN in Padang in 2019/2020; there were six classes. The research sample is class VII 3 (experimental class) and class VII 5 (control class). Sampling uses a purposive sampling technique. The instrument used was an observation sheet of students' creative thinking abilities and a posttest creative thinking sheet. Based on the study results, it can be concluded that the students' creative thinking ability in the experimental class is higher than the control class with the average value of the experimental class creative thinking test (52.45) and the control class (39.39). Data analysis using t-test showed that t count (3.66)> t table (1.67). So the conclusion is the Problem Solving learning model has a positive effect on the creative thinking ability of grade VII students at one of the SMPN in Padang.

Abstract

This article review aims to look at the effect of applying the jigsaw type cooperative learning model assisted with mind map recitation on students' learning competencies. The method used is a systematic review by reviewing articles that are relevant to the author's research. The data used is obtained from relevant journals that are relevant to the problem the authors discuss. Data is taken from databases such as SINTA, Google Scholar and other relevant journal websites. The variables used in this study are the type of jigsaw cooperative learning model (independent variable) and the students' learning competency (dependent variable). Starting from elementary school level, junior high school, high school, to college can also feel the positive influence of the application of this type of cooperative learning model jigsaw. Because of the positive influence of the application of this type of jigsaw cooperative learning model, it is expected that the teacher will apply the material that is both theoretical and practical. This type of jigsaw cooperative learning method can improve student learning outcomes and activeness so that problems that occur in the learning process can be overcome.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis perlu dikembangkan. Siswa yang berpikir kritis tidak hanya menerima informasi yang diperoleh, namun dapat menggunakan informasi tersebut untuk menyelesaikan permasalahannya. Kemampuan berpikir kritis dapat dilatih dengan memberikan asesmen yang berada pada tingkat kognitif C4-C6. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan asesmen kemampuan berpikir kritis pada materi sistem sirkulasi yang valid dan praktis. Penelitian menggunakan model pengembangan 4-D yang terdiri dari tahap define, design, dan develop. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa angket uji validitas dan uji praktikalitas (validitas logis), serta soal multiple choice with written justifification (pilihan ganda dengan menuliskan argumen). Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Penelitian ini menghasilkan asesmen berpikir kritis untuk materi sistem sirkulasi yang valid dan praktis. Hasil uji validitas menunjukkan soal valid (secara logis dan empiris). Reliabilitas soal tinggi yaitu 0,61, tingkat kesukaran soal  antara 0,31 sampai dengan 0,70, dan soal memiliki daya beda cukup, baik dan baik sekali. Daya beda cukup dengan persentase 10%, daya beda baik dengan persentase 60%, dan daya beda baik sekali dengan persentase 30%. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, dapat disimpulkan telah dihasilkan asesmen kemampuan berpikir kritis yang valid secara logis dan empiris, praktis, reliabel dengan tingkat kesukaran sedang, dan memiliki daya pembeda yang baik.

Abstract

Materi biologi banyak menjelaskan konsep abstrak seperti proses fisiologis hingga molekuler membuat materi biologi dianggap sulit oleh mahasiswa. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara yang telah dilakukan, masih banyak mahasiswa menganggap materi pada matakuliah genetika sulit terutama pada materi transkripsi dan translasi. Mahasiswa membutuhkan media vang praktis untuk digunakan dimanapun dan kapanpun serta mampu memvisualisasikan materi tersebut. Media pembelajaran berbasis Android diharapkan mampu meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap materi transkripsi dan translasi. Penelitian ini merupakan Research and Development menggunakan model 4D, namun pada penelitian ini dibatasi hanya tiga tahapan yaitu Define, Design dan Develop, khususnya sampai validasi produk. Produk media yang dikembangkan berupa media pembelajaran dengan format aplikasi .apk yang bisa dioperasikan pada perangkat smartphone Android dan pada perangkat laptop/PC menggunakan software emulator seperti NOX dan lainnya. Media pembelajaran ini memuat materi transkripsi dan translasi yang terdiri dari menu-menu yaitu: Learning Outcomes (LO), materi (memuat penjelasan serta proses transkripsi dan translasi), latihan (berupa soal-soal dalam bentuk multiple choises), dan tombol keluar. Berdasarkan uji validitas didapatkan hasil validiasi dari ahli materi 97,5% dengan kategori sangat valid dan ahli media juga dapat dikategorikan sangat valid sebesar 83.8%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut didapatkan angka validitas sebesar 91,2% dengan kategori sangat valid.

Abstract

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is felt in various sectors, including education, so that learning activities are limited by implementing online learning. Likewise with SMAN 06 Merangin. This study aims to obtain an overview of the implementation of online biology learning at SMAN 06 Merangin. The subject of this research is a biology teacher. Data was collected using interviews. Data analysis was performed using the Miles & Huberman analysis technique. The results of research on the implementation of blood-based biology learning at SMAN 06 Merangin show that (1) the lesson planning is carried out, namely: determining the application, recording conditions and student phone numbers, preparing online learning tools; (2) implementation of online learning, namely preliminary activities in the form of filling in attendance via Google Form, Google Classroom or Whatsapp and submitting learning objectives to Google Classroom or Whatsapp. The core activities are in the form of delivering material, question and answer sessions via Classroom or Whatsapp. Closing activities in the form of drawing conclusions and assignments; (3) evaluations of online learning, namely, assessment of knowledge seen from the results of assignments, discussion of questions, and online exams. Skills assessment is seen from the results of project assignments and online practicum. Meanwhile, the attitude value is seen from the presence. Weak supervision of students, lack of strong signals in remote areas, and not all students have Gadgets are obstacles in the implementation of online biology learning at SMAN 06 Merangin. AbstrakDampak pandemi Covid-19 sangat terasa pada berbagai sektor, termasuk pendidikan, sehingga pembatasan aktivitas pembelajaran dengan menerapkan pembelajaran daring. Begitu juga dengan SMAN 06 Merangin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran pelaksanaan pembelajaran biologi secara daring di SMAN 06 Merangin. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru biologi. Data dikumpulkan dengan wawancara. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan teknik analisis Miles & Huberman. Hasil penelitian terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran biologi berbasis daring di SMAN 06 Merangin menunjukkan bahwa (1) Perencanaan pembelajaran yang dilakukan meliputi: menentukan aplikasi, pendataan kondisi dan nomor telepon siswa, menyiapkan perangkat pembelajaran daring; (2) pelaksanaan pembelajaran daring terdiri dari kegiatan pendahuluan berupa mengisi absensi melalui Google Form, Google Classroom  atau Whatsapp dan penyampaian tujuan pembelajaran pada Google Classroom atau Whatsapp. Kegiatan inti meliputi penyampaian materi, sesi tanya jawab melalui Classroom  atau Whatsapp. Kegiatan penutup berupa penarikan kesimpulan dan penugasan; (3) evaluasi pembelajaran daring meliputi, penilaian pengetahuan, keterampilan dan sikap. Nilai pengetahuan diperoleh dari penilaian tugas, diskusi dan ujian online. Nilai keterampilan diperoleh dari tugas proyek dan praktikum Online. Sedangkan nilai sikap dilihat dari presensi. Lemahnya pengawasan terhadap siswa, kurang kuatnya sinyal di daerah pelosok dan tidak semua siswa memiliki Gadget menjadi kendala dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran biologi secara daring di SMAN 06 Merangin.

Abstract

Learning difficulties are the condition of learners who are not studying properly and are unable to obtain the predetermined KKM scores. Learners are experiencing learning difficulties influenced by several factors. Factors that affect learning difficulties learners are internal factors and external factors. Learning difficulties are often found in learners in following the learning process. Cell and substance transport is one of the high school class XI materials in biology lessons. In replication of cell material and transport of class XI MIA substances in SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Alung shows value below KKM. So, based on the understanding of learning difficulties above means the students of class XI MIA in SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Alung experiencing learning difficulties because they are unable to meet the limits of KKM which has been determined. Therefore, the researcher wanted to identify the difficulties of studying students in grade XI SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Alung on cell material and substance transport.The type of this research is descriptive research. The instruments used in this study are questionnaires and questions. Questionnaire given in the form of statements and soaalnya in the form of multiple choice. The population of this study is the students of class XI MIA SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Alung consisting of 7 classes with the number 231 people. The sample of this study was 70 people taken 10 people per class. Based on the data analysis can be seen the absence of the value of learners are complete after being given a matter of understanding the concept of the concept of cell material and substance transport. For the results of questionnaires data obtained the percentage of factors that cause the learning difficulties of the most high learners are themselves by 54.62%, the next school by 50.6%, the community 39.63% and the last family 30.94%.

Abstract

Kemampuan argumentasi merupakan salah satu keterampilan abad 21 yang harus dikuasai oleh peserta didik. Kemampuan argumentasi peserta didik perlu diukur untuk membantu guru dalam memilih model pembelajaran yang tepat dalam mengembangkan kemampuan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan argumentasi peserta didik di SMA N 1 V Koto Kampung Dalam. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian deskriptif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini 52 orang peserta didik kelas XI IPA. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar soal. Analisis data menggunakan persentase. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan rata-rata kelas XI MIPA 2 lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas XI MIPA 3. Kemampuan argumentasi kelas XI MIPA 2 cukup, dan kategori rendah untuk kelas MIPA 3. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan argumentasi peserta didik belum termasuk kategori kuat dan perlu ditingkatkan. Oleh karena itu, penting bagi peserta didik dan guru untuk saling berkolaborasi dalam mengasah kemampuan argumentasi agar dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran.
