Abstract

Pewarisan karakter pada manusia merupakan salah satu kajian penting dalam genetika, khususnya dalam menjelaskan variasi fenotip yang muncul antar generasi. Salah satu sifat morfologi yang sering digunakan sebagai contoh dalam studi genetika dasar adalah bentuk earlobe (cuping telinga bebas atau menempel), yang secara klasik dijelaskan mengikuti pola pewarisan Mendel. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pola pewarisan bentuk earlobe pada tiga generasi dari tiga keluarga serta menelaah kesesuaiannya dengan prinsip dominansi dalam genetika Mendel. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode observasional deskriptif melalui pengamatan langsung terhadap bentuk cuping telinga, dokumentasi visual, serta wawancara untuk memperoleh informasi silsilah keluarga. Penentuan kemungkinan genotipe individu dilakukan berdasarkan fenotip yang diamati dan pola kemunculan sifat pada silsilah keluarga, dengan asumsi bahwa individu berfenotip dominan yang memiliki keturunan dengan fenotip resesif dikategorikan sebagai heterozigot. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa fenotip cuping telinga bebas lebih sering muncul pada anggota keluarga yang diamati dibandingkan dengan cuping telinga menempel. Pola transmisi sifat yang terlihat antar generasi menunjukkan kecenderungan yang selaras dengan model pewarisan autosomal dominan, di mana alel E (cuping telinga bebas) bersifat dominan terhadap alel e (cuping telinga menempel). Dengan demikian, penelitian ini memberikan gambaran mengenai pola pewarisan bentuk earlobe dalam lingkup keluarga yang diamati serta menunjukkan kesesuaian umum dengan prinsip pewarisan Mendel. Temuan ini juga dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai contoh kontekstual dalam pembelajaran genetika berbasis studi keluarga.Kata Kunci: Autosomal Dominan, Cuping Telinga, Genetika Mendel, Pewarisan Sifat, Tiga Generasi Keluarga

Abstract

Perkembangan Information and Communication Technology (ICT) telah membawa perubahan signifikan dalam pembelajaran biologi di Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) serta menuntut literasi ICT sebagai kompetensi penting abad ke-21. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara sistematis peran literasi ICT siswa SMA dalam mendukung efektivitas pembelajaran biologi berbasis teknologi. Kebaruan kajian ini terletak pada sintesis sistematis literatur terbaru (2020–2025) yang menghubungkan bentuk pemanfaatan ICT, variasi literasi ICT siswa, serta hambatan implementasinya dalam pembelajaran biologi SMA, yang masih jarang dikaji secara komprehensif sebelumnya. Penelitian dilakukan melalui pendekatan Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan sumber data dari Google Scholar, menggunakan kriteria artikel terbit tahun 2020–2025 pada jurnal nasional terakreditasi Sinta 1–5. Sebanyak 20 artikel dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif-sintesis. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan ICT dalam pembelajaran biologi berdampak positif terutama dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar, pemahaman konsep abstrak, serta capaian hasil belajar siswa. Namun, efektivitas ICT belum merata karena tingkat literasi ICT siswa masih bervariasi serta integrasi teknologi oleh guru belum sepenuhnya optimal. Hambatan utama meliputi keterbatasan kompetensi pedagogis-teknologis guru dan dukungan sarana-prasarana sekolah. Temuan ini menegaskan perlunya penguatan literasi ICT siswa, peningkatan kompetensi guru, serta pengembangan ekosistem pembelajaran digital agar pembelajaran biologi berbasis ICT lebih efektif dan berkelanjutan

Abstract

Literasi media merupakan kompetensi penting bagi siswa di era digital. Problem Based Learning (PBL) dipandang sebagai pendekatan pembelajaran yang relevan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan literasi media siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas PBL dalam meningkatkan literasi media siswa melalui studi literatur. Metode yang digunakan adalah literature review terhadap 15 artikel jurnal nasional terakreditasi yang dipublikasikan dalam rentang tahun 2020–2025. Artikel dipilih berdasarkan kriteria relevansi dengan topik literasi media dan PBL serta memuat hasil penelitian empiris, dan ditelusuri melalui basis data Google Scholar. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan menelaah model pembelajaran, jenis media yang digunakan, serta hasil penerapan PBL. Hasil kajian menunjukkan adanya pola temuan yang konsisten bahwa penerapan PBL yang dipadukan dengan berbagai media pembelajaran seperti media pansi, media pohon, modul digital, magic box, konten digital, media audiovisual, aplikasi pembelajaran, media matematika, puzzle, video, media sosial, YouTube, serta game pembelajaran cenderung meningkatkan kemampuan literasi media siswa. PBL mendorong keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam pemecahan masalah kontekstual, yang berdampak pada peningkatan kemampuan analisis, evaluasi, dan pemanfaatan konten media secara kritis. Simpulan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa PBL merupakan model pembelajaran yang efektif dan adaptif dalam meningkatkan literasi media siswa di era digital, serta memiliki potensi luas untuk diterapkan dalam berbagai konteks pembelajaran

Abstract

Penulisan karya ilmiah menuntut integritas akademik dan pengelolaan referensi yang sistematis, tetapi banyak mahasiswa masih kesulitan melakukan sitasi sehingga menimbulkan kesalahan format dan risiko plagiarisme tidak disengaja. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan literasi digital mahasiswa Biologi Universitas Jambi melalui pelatihan terstruktur penggunaan aplikasi manajemen referensi Mendeley. Kegiatan mencakup sosialisasi, pendampingan instalasi, pengelolaan database referensi, serta fungsi sitasi otomatis. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan respons yang signifikan: kategori “Sangat Tidak Setuju” turun dari 14% menjadi 1%, “Tidak Setuju” dari 36% menjadi 4%, sementara pemahaman materi (“Setuju” dan “Sangat Setuju”) meningkat hingga 72%. Peserta menunjukkan peningkatan nyata dalam kemampuan mengelola referensi secara efisien dan akurat. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa penguasaan alat manajemen referensi digital berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas dan integritas penulisan ilmiah mahasiswa.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically examine the range of instruments employed in the assessment of critical thinking. Critical thinking is conceptualized as a higher-order cognitive process involving the analysis, application, evaluation, and synthesis of information. The study adopts a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, drawing on 15 peer-reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2025 and indexed in Scopus (Q1–Q4) and SINTA (S1–S4). The articles were retrieved through database searches using Google Scholar, GARUDA, and SINTA, employing keywords such as “critical thinking instruments,” “development,” and “critical thinking assessment.” The review process comprised three stages: identification, screening, and eligibility assessment. Articles were initially screened based on their titles and abstracts, and duplicate records were subsequently removed. The analysis encompassed a wide range of critical thinking assessment instruments, including written tests (e.g., multiple-choice, essay-based, and complex true–false formats) as well as non-test instruments, such as psychometric scales, computer-based assessments, dialogic instruments, and rubric-based qualitative assessments. The findings indicate that no single instrument is capable of comprehensively capturing all dimensions of critical thinking. Rather, each instrument demonstrates particular strengths and limitations in assessing specific components, such as analysis, evaluation, and reasoning. Accordingly, the selection of assessment instruments should be carefully aligned with the research objectives, the instructional context, and the specific critical thinking indicators to be measured.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The purpose of this study is how are the differences in students' critical thinking skills in physics subjects using discovery and problem-based learning models at Madrasah Aliyah Laboratory in Jambi City. Methodology: The research design used by researchers is a quantitative research type of quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group design, with a total sample of 56 students using a total sampling technique. The instrument in this study used a test with a Cronbach alpha of 0.919. The data analysis used includes descriptive and inferential statistics. Main Findings: Based on the data analysis and discussion above, it can be concluded that students' critical thinking skills in physics subjects in static electricity material are in a good category. This indicates that the application of discovery learning models and problem-based learning can improve the thinking skills of critical students. This is reinforced by testing the hypothesis through an independent sample t-test that there is a significant difference between the use of the two models in improving students' critical thinking skills, especially in physics lessons on static electricity. Novelty/Originality of this study: This research has a novelty, especially in cognitive, namely critical thinking skills, which can be improved with a scientific approach, especially using discovery learning models and problem-based learning.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to evaluate the quality of items in retention and transfer tests related to additive and addictive substances. Using Rasch modeling, the study seeks to enhance the management of learning evaluations and improve our understanding of student abilities and question quality. Methodology: The research utilizes the Rasch Model to analyze retention and transfer test instruments on science topics involving additives and addictive substances. Conducted with Winstep software, the analysis focuses on the performance of 92 purposively sampled 8th-grade students during their first semester of junior high school. The study examines retention and transfer abilities, comprehensively evaluating the test items. Main Findings: The Winstep program analysis reveals that, according to the Rasch model, the average ± MNSQ Outfit values for both items and persons are 0.92. The Outfit ZSTD values for items and persons are -0.12 and -0.01, respectively. The instrument's reliability, measured by Cronbach's alpha, is 0.60, indicating moderate reliability. The research findings demonstrate that each item in the instrument is valid and reasonably reliable, with all 20 items deemed suitable for assessing student performance in retention and transfer tests. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study offers a detailed examination of retention and transfer test instruments' quality using the Rasch Model, providing valuable insights for enhancing the accuracy and reliability of these assessment tools. The research significantly improves educational assessments in science education, particularly in evaluating students' understanding of additives and addictive substances.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of problem-based learning (PBL) model based on local wisdom in making lemang kancung beruk to improve students' critical thinking skills. Methodology: The research method is a quasi-experimental form of non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design with non-probability sampling technique-purposive sampling. The data collection techniques used critical thinking skills tests with FRISCO indicator essay tests and observation sheets. Technical data analysis used Analysis of covariance (Ancova) test and quantitative descriptive approach used SPSS 20 program. Main Findings: The research results of the Ancova hypothesis test show that the corrected model sig value is 0.000 <0.05, then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, This means that the problem-based learning (PBL) model based on local wisdom in making lemang kancung beruk has a significant and moderate effect on improving students' critical thinking skills. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this research is the implementation of problem-based learning (PBL) model based on local wisdom of Kerinci-Sungai Penuh area in science learning. The limitations in the study are the competencies measured in the integrated essay test and the subject matter is the science material of substances and their changes in class VII.

Abstract

Prospective biology teachers need to be well prepared, not only in terms of biology content but also their teaching skills, including lesson study. This study aims to developing a biology lesson study book based on scientific approach. The research method used is research and development by adopting the ADDIE model. The research instrument used was a questionnaire to measure the responses of experts, teachers and students to the quality of the book. This research also pays attention to qualitative (suggestions and comments) and quantitative data. The results showed that the book was considered feasible by experts. Teacher and student responses also showed a positive impact on the use of the book. The test results also showed an increase in learning outcomes. So, the book can be used in classroom learning.

Abstract

Meta-skills and metacognition are 21st century skills. The correlation between metacognition and meta-skills has never been studied before. Even though both have a relationship based on concept studies. Therefore, this study aims to predict the extent to which metacognition can influence meta-skills. This quantitative research is correlational research conducted on 30 undergraduate students of Biology Education, Universitas Jambi. Students' metacognition was measured using a test. Students' meta-skills were measured using a questionnaire whose scores were transformed into interval data. The results were analyzed using simple linear regression. The results of data analysis showed there is a correlation between students' metacognition and meta-skills (p = < 0.01). There is a significant regression equation [F (1. 58) = 14.28, p < 0.01] with an R2 of 0.20. Students' meta-skills can be predicted using the regression equation y = 33.63 + 0.46x. The regression coefficient (B = 0.46) indicates that an increase in metacognition score by 1 number will increase students' meta-skills score by 0.46.
