Lalat buah dari genus Drosophila sp. memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam perkembangan penelitian genetika. Serangga ini banyak dimanfaatkan sebagai organisme model di laboratorium karena memiliki berbagai keunggulan unik, seperti siklus hidup yang singkat dan kemudahan perawatan, sehingga mendukung studi genetika yang lebih efisien. Keunggulan ini membuat Drosophila sp. menjadi salah satu subjek penelitian favorit dalam bidang biologi dan genetika modern. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis lalat buah (Drosophila sp.) yang tertangkap menggunakan umpan berupa buah manis (pisang) dan buah masam (jeruk nipis) di Perumahan Ridena, Mendalo, Jambi. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan observasi alami dengan memasukkan buah ke dalam botol perangkap dan mengamati spesies yang tertangkap menggunakan mikroskop stereo serta kunci determinasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lalat buah yang tertangkap hanya terdiri dari satu spesies, yaitu Drosophila melanogaster, dengan jumlah individu yang berbeda pada setiap jenis buah: 8 ekor pada pisang dan 7 ekor pada jeruk nipis. Kesimpulan menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan rasa buah mempengaruhi daya tarik lalat buah, namun tidak mengubah spesies yang tertangkap. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan tambahan tentang perilaku lalat buah dan potensi pengelolaan hama berbasis daya tarik sensorik.

Panduan praktikum merupakan pedoman pelaksanaan praktikum yang memuat judul, tujuan, materi, penyajian hasil dan pertanyaan pasca praktikum. Panduan praktikum yang sederhana membuat mahasiswa kurang berminat dalam melaksanakan praktikum. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan panduan praktikum materi prnyimpangan semu hukum Mendel berbasis Edmodo untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa pendidikan Biologi. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model ADDIE. Penelitian dilakukan di Program studi pendidikan Biologi UNJA. Teknik analisi data yang digunakan yaitu kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Â Validasi yang dilakukan yaitu validasi media dan materi. Hasil rata-rata uji validitas materi panduan praktikum yaitu 50,37% pada tahap pertama, 70,37% pada tahap kedua dan 93,30% pada tahap ketiga. Hasil rata-rata uji validitas media yaitu 69,33% pada tahap pertama dan 88% pada tahap kedua. Hasil rata-rata uju N-Gain yaitu 0,67 termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Dari hasil rata-rata tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan panduan praktikum materi penyimpangan semu hukum mendel layak digunakan dan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa pendidikan Biologi.

This research was motivated by teachers who must continue to help their students to enhancestudent's critical thinking skills even in COVID-19 pandemic situation. Online Inquiry and Problem Based Learning (PBL) with Zoom Cloud Meeting platform was used because based on previous research, Inquiry learning and PBL can improve student's critical thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to see the differences of junior high school student's critical thinking skills after being taught by online Inquiry learning and PBL in terms of student's initial abilities and to see the interaction between Inquiry, PBL, and initial ability with student's critical thinking. This research was used quasi experimental nonequivalent control group design, conducted in 8th grade of Junior High School 7 Jambi City using 3 classes; 2 experimental classes and 1 control class selected by the simple random sampling method. The results of this study were tested with one way and two way ANOVA, showing that there were differences of student's critical thinking abilities with high, medium and low initial abilities after being taught by online Inquiry learning and PBL learning, but there was no interaction between online Inquiry learning and PBL, and student's initial ability with student's critical thinking.

The purpose of this research is to produce valid, practical and effective Flipped Classroom-based mathematics learning tools and to improve students' mathematical communication skills. The method used in this research is the Ploom development model. The development of the Plomp model is namely the initial investigation phase, the development phase, and the assessment phase. Learning tools developed in the form of lesson plans, student worksheets and learning videos. The subjects of the field test were students and educators in class X of SMAN 3 Jambi for the 2020-2021 academic year. The research instruments used were instruments at the initial investigation stage, validity test instruments, practicality test instruments and effectiveness test instruments. The results of the validation of the Flipped Classroom-based mathematics learning device were valid in terms of construct and content. The validity values obtained for lesson plans, learning videos, and worksheets are 3.41; 3.17; and 3,4. Flipped Classroom-based math learning tools are practical in terms of implementation and ease of use. The results of the questionnaire analysis of the student's practicality data showed a figure of 81% so that it was categorized as practical from the observation data on the implementation of learning and interviews. The resulting learning devices are effective in improving students' mathematical communication. The results of the final test of students' mathematical communication skills are 77.78% of students who have scored above the KKM.

Abstract: Development of a Dental and Oral Health Education Model with an Authoritative Parenting Approach to Prevent Dental Caries in Early Childhood. Objective: This research aims to develop a dental and oral health education model utilizing an authoritative parenting approach to prevent dental caries in early childhood. Methods: This research used Mixed Methods with a research and development (R&D) design adopting the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation). Validation tests were carried out by 2 experts (an expert in the field of dental public health and an expert in the field of early childhood education) and 1 practitioner. Next, one-on-one trials were carried out on 3 mothers who had children aged 3-5 years, small group trials on 9 mothers and their children, field trials on 20 mothers and their children for the intervention group, 20 mothers and their children for the control group. Qualitative data analysis used the Miles-Hubermen analysis technique, quantitative data analysis used the Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney tests. Findings: The design stage yielded a dental and oral health education model employing an authoritative parenting approach to prevent dental caries in early childhood. Results from the development stage, including validation by experts and practitioners, affirm the model's suitability for trial. One-on-one and small group tests indicate that the educational model is engaging and easy to comprehend. The field test results demonstrate a significant impact of the provided educational model on enhancing mother's knowledge, attitudes, and improving OHIS value of their children. Conclusion: The dental and oral health education model, employing an authoritative parenting approach to prevent dental caries in early childhood, is deemed suitable for implementation and proves effective in enhancing mother’s knowledge, attitudes, and OHIS value of their children. Abstract Insektarium is one of the solutions in overcoming the limitations of learning activities in the classroom. Through insektarium teachers and students can learn information about insects. This service aims to carry out training in making insektariums at SMA N 2 Muaro Jambi. The methods used include material delivery, discussion, and practice. The results showed that the training participants were able to make an insektarium by following the work procedures that had been explained. Thus, the service activities have fulfilled the objectives and achieved the required solutions. It is hoped that activities like this will be carried out in other places, as an effort to maximize learning in the classroom.

Berpikir kreatif adalah keterampilan untuk menciptakan ide-ide baru, orisinil, dan inovatif yang berbeda dari pola pikir pada umumnya. Kemampuan ini penting dimiliki oleh peserta didik, tidak hanya untuk memperkaya pengalaman belajarnya, tetapi juga untuk memecahkan berbagai masalah selama proses pembelajaran. Model pembelajaran Outcome Based Education (OBE) menekankan pada kegiatan pembelajaran yang berpusat pada peserta didik, dengan sistem penilaian yang menekankan pada kinerja peserta didik berdasarkan capaian pembelajaran yang meliputi aspek sikap (afektif), pengetahuan (kognitif), dan keterampilan (psikomotorik). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji penerapan model OBE dan pengaruhnya terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif melalui studi literatur. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi literatur. Berdasarkan berbagai temuan yang dianalisis, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PBL) terbukti lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa jika dibandingkan dengan pendekatan pembelajaran lainnya di lingkungan sekolah.

Prospective biology teachers need to be well prepared, not only in terms of biology content but also their teaching skills, including lesson study. This study aims to developing a biology lesson study book based on scientific approach. The research method used is research and development by adopting the ADDIE model. The research instrument used was a questionnaire to measure the responses of experts, teachers and students to the quality of the book. This research also pays attention to qualitative (suggestions and comments) and quantitative data. The results showed that the book was considered feasible by experts. Teacher and student responses also showed a positive impact on the use of the book. The test results also showed an increase in learning outcomes. So, the book can be used in classroom learning.

Meta-skills and metacognition are 21st century skills. The correlation between metacognition and meta-skills has never been studied before. Even though both have a relationship based on concept studies. Therefore, this study aims to predict the extent to which metacognition can influence meta-skills. This quantitative research is correlational research conducted on 30 undergraduate students of Biology Education, Universitas Jambi. Students' metacognition was measured using a test. Students' meta-skills were measured using a questionnaire whose scores were transformed into interval data. The results were analyzed using simple linear regression. The results of data analysis showed there is a correlation between students' metacognition and meta-skills (p = < 0.01). There is a significant regression equation [F (1. 58) = 14.28, p < 0.01] with an R2 of 0.20. Students' meta-skills can be predicted using the regression equation y = 33.63 + 0.46x. The regression coefficient (B = 0.46) indicates that an increase in metacognition score by 1 number will increase students' meta-skills score by 0.46.

This study aims to determine how the effect of local wisdom- based PBL model on making Lemang Kancung Beruk on critical thinking skills. The research method is a quasi-experimental form of non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design with purposive sampling technique. The research population was Phase D of SMP Negeri 6 Sungai Penuh, the research sample was class VII A and VII B with a total of 36 students, 18 students each from class VII A as the experimental class and class VII B as the control class. Data collection techniques used FRISCO indicator critical thinking ability essay tests and observation sheets. Data analysis technique used one-way Ancova test with initial critical thinking ability as covariate. The results showed that the average value of the experimental class posttest results was higher at 88.19 than the control class 70.60. The hypothesis test results obtained the value [F (1.33) = 49.515, p < 0.001, ηp2 = 0.600] showing the significance of p < 0.001 which means < 0.05, meaning that there is an effect of the local wisdom-based PBL model on making Lemang Kancung Beruk with an effect size value of ηp2 = 0.600 has a large effect.
