Abstract

Microteaching as a learning model must be updated for the future, especially in preparing prospective biology teachers with the 4C skills required in the 21st century. This study aims to develop a microteaching model-based Project-based Learning (PjBL) and blended learning to enhance the 4C skills of prospective biology teachers. The research method uses a Research & Development approach with the ADDIE framework. The research subjects are the Biology Education Study Program students who take the microteaching course. This model integrates PjBL and blended learning, including the following stages: (1) Project orientation (synchronous), (2) Module development (asynchronous), (3) Peer review (asynchronous), (4) Presentation of peer review results (synchronous), (5) First teaching practice and peer review (asynchronous), (6) Presentation of first teaching practice results (synchronous), (7) Second teaching practice and peer review (asynchronous), (8) Presentation of second teaching practice results (synchronous), (9) Collection of project videos (synchronous), and (10) Project evaluation (synchronous). Data collection techniques include questionnaires, validation sheets, observation sheets, and tests, with data analysis using a t-test. The results show that model enhances the 4C skills of prospective biology teachers. In conclusion, this model effectively improves 4C skills with the guidance of a logbook and LMS. Still, lecturers must encourage and facilitate student learning activities through direct communication or instant messaging. This research impacts the quality of education for prospective biology teachers in the future.Abstrak. Microteaching sebagai model pembelajaran perlu diperbaharui untuk masa depan, khususnya dalam menyiapkan calon guru biologi dengan keterampilan 4C yang dibutuhkan pada abad 21. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan model microteaching berbasis project-based learning (PjBL) dan blended learning bagi calon guru biologi. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Research & Development dengan kerangka ADDIE. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi yang mengambil mata kuliah microteaching. Model microteaching yang dikembangkan mengintegrasikan PjBL dan blended learning, meliputi tahapan: (1) Orientasi proyek (sinkronus), (2) Pengembangan modul (asinkronus), (3) Peer review (asinkronus), (4) Presentasi hasil peer review (sinkronus), (5) Praktik mengajar pertama dan peer review (asinkronus), (6) Presentasi hasil praktik mengajar pertama (sinkronus), (7) Praktik mengajar kedua dan peer review (asinkronus), (8) Presentasi hasil praktik mengajar kedua (sinkronus), (9) Pengumpulan video proyek pembelajaran (sinkronus), dan (10) Evaluasi dan penilaian proyek (sinkronus). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket, lembar validasi, lembar observasi, dan tes. Teknik analisis data menggunakan t-test.  Hasil menunjukkan bahwa model ini meningkatkan keterampilan 4C pada calon guru biologi. Kesimpulannya, moel ini efektif meningkatkan keterampilan 4C dengan panduan logbook dan LMS, Namun, dosen perlu mendorong dan menfasilitasi kegiatan belajar mahasiswa melalui komunikasi langsung atau pesan instan. Penelitian ini berdampak pada peningkatan kualitas pendidikan calon guru biologi di masa depan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the effect of local wisdom- based PBL model on making Lemang Kancung Beruk on critical thinking skills. The research method is a quasi-experimental form of non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design with purposive sampling technique. The research population was Phase D of SMP Negeri 6 Sungai Penuh, the research sample was class VII A and VII B with a total of 36 students, 18 students each from class VII A as the experimental class and class VII B as the control class. Data collection techniques used FRISCO indicator critical thinking ability essay tests and observation sheets. Data analysis technique used one-way Ancova test with initial critical thinking ability as covariate. The results showed that the average value of the experimental class posttest results was higher at 88.19 than the control class 70.60. The hypothesis test results obtained the value [F (1.33) = 49.515, p < 0.001, ηp2 = 0.600] showing the significance of p < 0.001 which means < 0.05, meaning that there is an effect of the local wisdom-based PBL model on making Lemang Kancung Beruk with an effect size value of ηp2 = 0.600 has a large effect.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a basic textbook and biology learning process based on the industrial revolution 4.0. The research method uses R&D with the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation). The research results show that the need for basic textbooks and a biology learning process based on revolution 4.0 is very high. The design of this book uses A5 size paper, with a table of contents including: learning in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, biology learning methods, teaching skills, learning media, current biology learning models and teaching aids. At the development stage, the book Basics and Biology Learning Process Based on the Industrial Revolution 4.0 was declared feasible by the validator. At the implementation stage, this book received a good rating (82.25) in small group trials and good (84.3) in large group trials. Conclusion, basic books and the biology learning process are in the appropriate category according to the validator's assessment and the good category according to the lecturer's and student's assessment.

Abstract

The 21st century learning paradigm emphasizes students' ability to think critically, be able to connect knowledge with the real world, master information technology, communicate and collaborate. This study aims to determine how the flipped classroom model affects students' critical thinking and communication skills. The research method is a quasi-experimental form of non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design with a simple random sampling technique. The population in this study were all students of grade IX of SMP Islam Al-Falah, namely 5 classes, class IX-1, IX-2, IX-3, IX-4 and IX-5., the research sample class IX-5 as the control class and IX-3 as the experimental class. The data collection technique used the FRISCO indicator critical thinking ability essay test and the communication ability assessment observation sheet. The data analysis technique used the one-way MANCOVA test with initial critical thinking and communication skills as covariates. The results of the hypothesis test showed that the value [F (2,51) = 22.777, p <0.001, ηp2 = 0.472]. This means that the significance value of p <0.001 which means <0.05, then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there is an influence of the flipped classroom model on students' critical thinking and communication skills. The size of the effect size value ηp2 = 0.472, which means that there is a large influence of the flipped classroom model on students' critical thinking and communication skills.

Abstract

The nervous system is a complex biological because the material is still abstract. The method used by teachers is the lecture method which causes students to have difficulty in understanding the material. To overcome this, a case study-based e-Module is needed that can provide students with cases related to the material and be a solution to students' difficulties related to minimal learning in class. This study aims to develop a case study-based e-Module on the nervous system material and analyze the feasibility of the developed product. This study uses the ADDIE development model consisting of Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluation. The results of the study showed that the developed e-Module obtained a percentage of 91.66% with the category "very feasible" in the material validation. At the media validation stage, a percentage value of 94.11% was obtained with the category "very feasible". The biology teacher's perception of the quality of the developed product obtained a percentage of 91.17% with the category "very good". Small group trials with students obtained a percentage of 95.20% with the category "very good" and large group trials obtained a percentage of 94.68% with the category "very good". Thus, it can be concluded that the product developed is feasible and practical and received by teachers and students as a learning tool that supports students' learning process on the nervous system material.

Abstract

Research on integrated PjBL in learning media has grown rapidly in recent years, attracting increasing attention from academics and practitioners. However, the literature examining the impact of integrated PjBL on learning and enhancing student creativity is currently sparse and lacks a comprehensive view of how such integration works in education. To bridge this gap, our review comprehensively examined 16 academic articles sourced from the Google Schoolar database, synthesizing previous research on the integration of PjBL in learning media, specifically in biology topics. Using a systematic literature review and incorporating bibliometric analysis, our study provides an analysis of the current management research landscape on how PjBL integrated into learning media can enhance student creativity in biology topics. Our study shows that the integration of PjBL with learning media, particularly interactive digital media, is significantly positively correlated with increased student creativity, manifested through originality, elaboration, and idea fluency. Based on our literature review, we establish a future research agenda and provide practical implications.

Abstract

The transformation of education in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0 requires a paradigm shift in the learning process, including in the education of prospective teachers. Twenty-first-century pedagogical skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and digital literacy are essential competencies that future teachers must have. Microteaching as a program to improve teachers' teaching skills needs to adapt to the times. The urgency of this research is to improve the ability of prospective biology teachers to prepare themselves to teach by paying attention to collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. Therefore, researchers have developed a biology microteaching model based on PjBL (Project-Based Learning) and blended learning to improve the teaching abilities of prospective teachers. The aim of the research is to implement a model to test its effectiveness. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method. This type of research is in accordance with the quasi-experimental design model, which allows researchers to evaluate the effect of interventions even without subject randomization. The focus of the research is to determine the effect of implementing biology microteaching models based on Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and Blended Learning on the teaching abilities of prospective biology teacher students. This research concludes that the implementation of the microteaching model based on Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and blended learning for Biology students at the FKIP Jambi University received a positive response.

Abstract

Kajian literatur ini difokuskan untuk menelaah sejauh mana Problem Based Learning (PBL) efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi sains dan Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) peserta didik pada berbagai jenjang pendidikan. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan systematic literature review terhadap 24 artikel nasional dan internasional yang diterbitkan dalam kurun waktu 2020–2025. Artikel dikumpulkan dari beberapa basis data bereputasi, yaitu Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, dan ERIC. Pemilihan artikel didasarkan pada kriteria inklusi berupa penelitian empiris yang mengkaji penerapan PBL dalam pembelajaran sains serta mengukur literasi sains dan/atau HOTS peserta didik. Sementara itu, artikel non-empiris, prosiding tanpa proses peer review, serta publikasi di luar rentang waktu yang ditetapkan dikeluarkan dari analisis. Data dianalisis menggunakan content analysis dan thematic synthesis untuk mengidentifikasi kecenderungan temuan utama secara sistematis. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan PBL secara konsisten memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan literasi sains dan HOTS. Model ini menempatkan peserta didik sebagai subjek aktif pembelajaran melalui penyelesaian masalah autentik, sehingga mendorong berkembangnya kemampuan berpikir kritis, analitis, evaluatif, dan kreatif. Temuan juga menunjukkan bahwa integrasi PBL dengan media digital seperti simulasi PhET, blended learning, aplikasi Solar System Scope, serta video animasi mampu memperkuat hasil belajar sekaligus meningkatkan motivasi peserta didik. Keberhasilan implementasi PBL dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor kunci, terutama kemampuan guru dalam merancang masalah yang kontekstual dan bermakna, dukungan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif, serta kesiapan sarana dan prasarana pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, PBL dapat dipandang sebagai strategi pembelajaran yang relevan dan efektif untuk mengembangkan literasi sains dan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi, sejalan dengan tuntutan Kurikulum Merdeka dan kebutuhan pembelajaran abad ke-21.

Abstract

This study aims to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on metacognition through a literature review of 15 articles published within the last 6 years (2021-2026), consisting of reputable national and international journals. The research method employs a literature review, with the article search process conducted via SINTA, Harzing's Publish or Perish, Google Scholar, and Garuda portals. Journals that were collected and met the predetermined criteria were tabulated, covering the title, author, article type, sample, methods, and research findings. The review results indicate that, in general, Problem-Based Learning is effective in enhancing metacognition. PBL places students at the center of the learning process by confronting them with real-world problems. This approach encourages students' thinking awareness, planning, monitoring, and evaluation of their own thought processes. This study identifies hindering factors such as the requirement for significant time and the influence of students' self-efficacy levels on the success of this model. These findings are expected to provide a comprehensive overview of the strengths and opportunities for PBL implementation in developing metacognitive aspects in the future

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat bagaimana keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa berbeda antara siswa yang belajar dengan model GENICS dan siswa yang belajar dengan model Discovery Learning. Diharapkan penelitian ini akan memberikan wawasan tentang seberapa baik masing-masing model dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan menggunakan desain kontrol grup pretest-posttest non-randomized. Penelitian menggunakan tes esai untuk menilai kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Uji MANCOVA digunakan untuk melakukan analisis data menggunakan perangkat lunak statustik. Tinjauan dilakukan melalui observasi kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas X SMAN Titian Teras. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model GENICS menghasilkan skor rata-rata pasca-tes keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa yang lebih tinggi (84,68) dibandingkan dengan model Discovery Learning (81,64). Meskipun kedua model meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis, model GENICS lebih efektif dalam indikator fokus dan situasi, sedangkan Discovery Learning unggul dalam indikator penalaran dan pemrosesan data. Peningkatan signifikan terjadi pada kedua model, dengan perbedaan nilai-p yang menunjukkan dampak nyata dari strategi pembelajaran. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan yang terletak pada perbandingan langsung antara model pembelajaran GENICS dan Discovery Learning dalam konteks keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan baru tentang efektivitas kedua model, serta kontribusi spesifiknya dalam meningkatkan keterampilan analitis dan reflektif siswa, yang dapat menjadi referensi untuk pengembangan metode pembelajaran yang lebih efektif.
