Abstract

Recently, independent smallholders faced the crucial challenges of  certification requirements, i.e. The lack of farmers’ organization, the cost barrier; doesn't possess the mandatory legal documents; don't use appropriate best practices or keep records; and lack of skill and knowledge. Therefore, the understanding of the discrepancy between knowledge and competence was urged to overcome the critical issues in certification for achieving the sustainable development of palm oil production. The analyzed data using in-depth interviews of 150 respondents that is structured base for Indonesian sustainable palm oil (ISPO) with non-hierarchical clustering methods. The result proved that the largest discrepancy between knowledge and competence level was sustainable business improvement aspect, while, farmers’ organization and farm management aspect were the smallest in overall clusters. Thus, an affordable information intervention, extension and target groups through the required motivation for self-improvement and evaluate the pattern of information for  minimizing the gaps.

Abstract

The Desa Makmur Peduli Api (DMPA) Program is a form of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) from PT. Finnantara Intiga. This program aims to empower the local community in a productive economic sector which focuses on increasing the local people's income. The various DMPA programs that have been prepared are fish farming, cattle farming, rice, and corn farming. Based on the results of the study and agreement with the local community, the DMPA program focuses on corn farming. The purpose of this study was to determine a strategy to improve the performance of corn farming. The research method uses descriptive methods with SWOT analysis tools to determine strategic alternatives and QSPM analysis to select strategic priorities. The respondents consisted of 4 key informants and 18 regular informants for SWOT analysis and 4 experts for QSPM analysis. The result of the SWOT analysis is WO (Weakness - Opportunity) strategy with 4 alternative strategies. Based on the results of the QSPM analysis, the priority strategy is for the company have to collaborate with the government to train farmers routinely.

Abstract

Mangrove fruits can be used as an alternative food stuffs. Household businesses in Mempawah Regency processed mangrove fruits into products in the form of dodol, syrup, and flour. Nevertheless, the processing done by the community was very simple and required a long time. One disadvantage of household businesses in managing their businesses was the poor financial management, specifically related to the accounting bookkeeping process. This service activity aimed to provide accounting training for household businesses so that they can have better financial management knowledge and procedures. The method used was the accounting training practice. This training activity was participated in by the mangrove fruit processing household business operators which was carried out in Sungai Bakau Besar Laut Village, Siliki Pinyuh Sub-district, Mempawah District. The results of the training showed an increase in the knowledge and abilities of the participants in accounting bookeeping and the participants practiced themselves in their respective businesses. To support the sustainability of this training program, a mentoring program from the government and academia are needed.

Abstract

Mangrove ecotourism in the Mempawah coastal area began to be developed and initiated by local communities who are concerned in the sustainability of the mangrove ecosystem. This is also supported by the increasing number of tourists to visit ecotourism, so that the development of ecotourism needs to be supported by tourist attractiveness as well as learning to tourists to care about their environment in accordance with the principles of ecotourism namely responsible travel to natural areas, conserving the environment and improving the well-being of local people. This paper focuses on analyzing the potential value of community-based ecotourism objects and its attractiveness. The assessment indicator based on the guidelines for assessment of natural tourism attractiveness was used to assess the objects and attractiveness in three specific ecotourism locations which are managed by local communities in Mempawah, namely Pasir, Bakau, and Mendalok Village. This study involves the participation of tourists who have visited the  ecotourism site. The study found that the potential value of the object and attractiveness mangrove ecotourism in Mempawah Area was 3,105 with an average score of 388 meaning that it ispotentially developed, and also increasing recommendations related to community-based ecotourism development.

Abstract

Mangrove Ecotourism was a tourist attraction that had potential in Mempawah Regency. Ecotourism Mempawah Mangrove Park and Polaria Tanjung Pagar were tourist attractions that prioritize the aspects of nature conservation, education as well as natural beauty of mangrove forests. Tourists at Mempawah Mangrove Park and Polaria Tanjung Pagar tended to experience fluctuation. This indicated the lack of promotional activities performed, especially promotion on social networking. The research aims were to formulate criteria and alternatives for promotional activities through social networking in increasing tourist visits. The research method that used was a descriptive quantitative survey method using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) with Expert Choice 11 software. There were 60 research respondents who were taken by purposive sampling by distributing the e-questionaire link via google form. The results showed that the main priority for the alternative Instagram and Facebook accounts at Mempawah Mangrove Park and Polaria Tanjung Pagar was context strategy. Ecotourism Mempawah Mangrove Park and Polaria Tanjung Pagar needed to prioritize alternative context strategies in providing promotional activities on social networking such as increasing the presentation of informative information and conducting training or providing comparative studies for employees to other ecotourisms to increase employee knowledge and skills.

Abstract

The rapid growth in internet users in Indonesia makes the e-commerce business increasingly fierce by business people. UKM I Sun Vera is one of the UKM that develops e-commerce marketing business of processed aloe vera products, but in the implementation of UKM I Sun Vera still experience some obstacles such as sales promotions carried out less than the maximum, less skilled labor, limited knowledge of applications or online business systems so that consumer purchasing decisions in e-commerce are low on the product I SUN VERA. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of aloe vera marketing mix on the purchasing decision of e-commerce UKM I Sun Vera. This study used a survey method with quantitative descriptive analysis namely Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with LISREL 8.80 software. Sampling technique used on this research is purposive sampling, that involved 110 respondents. Data were collected through e-questionnaire with google form. The results showed that the variable marketing mix of products, prices and processes influence purchasing decisions. UKM I Sun Vera must pay attention to the nutritional content of the product on the packaging and add variety to the product uploaded in online marketing media. Sun Vera I SMEs must also pay attention to the affordability of product prices by making product innovations in various sizes and shapes and by adding online payment alternatives to facilitate consumers in terms of payment such as Dana, Gopay, Alfamart / Indomaret, Cash On Delivery and others.

Abstract

Mangrove ecotourism has various functions and benefits. It also plays an important role in human life environmentally, socially, culturally, and economically. In maintaining the coastal ecosystem of mangrove forests through the development of Mempawah Mangrove Park ecotourism, Mempawah Regency is inseparable from the involvement of Corporate Social Responsibility Program carried out by several companies. This research aimed to formulate priority criteria and optimal alternatives for the Corporate Social Responsibility Program in developing Mempawah Mangrove Park ecotourism in Mempawah Regency. 38 respondents were taken by purposive sampling. This study used qualitative descriptive analysis, namely Analysis Hierarchy Process (AHP) using Expert Choice 11 Software. The results showed that the main priority of the Corporate Social Responsibility program in developing Mempawah Mangrove Park ecotourism was the social and cultural aspects. The second priority is environmental aspect, the third is education aspect, and the last is economic aspect. The top alternative priority in corporate social responsibility program in the development of Mempawah Mangrove Park ecotourism is to attract visitors. The second alternative priority is the mangrove ecotourism conservation program, the third is the knowledge transfer about mangroves to visitors and the community around Mempawah Mangrove Park ecotourism, and the last is for community welfare.

Abstract

Community-based ecotourism is a strategy done to develop an area through the improvement of the tourism sector by offering natural tourism sites that preserving the environment and involving the community skill in managing the tourism activities. This study aimed to identify the development of the community-based ecotourism in the border area of Sambas Regency. There were 30 key participants involved in this study. A questionnaire consisted of four main criteria (environmental, economy, social, and facility) employed in this study which then analyzed by the AHP technique. Statistical analysis showed that the economy criteria was having the highest weight with a total of 0.535, followed by the environmental, facility, and social criteria with a total of 0.287, 0.105, and 0.074 respectively. There were three alternatives of community-based ecotourism analyzed to improve the community income: beach, turtle, and mangrove ecotourism. The statistical analysis showed that beach ecotourism gained the highest score to be placed as an alternative priority (0.593).

Abstract

Honey is a natural substance that bees produce from flower-neutral raw materials. Honey is one of the commodities of non-timber forest products that provide many benefits. The purpose of this research was to analyze the satisfaction of  the honey consumers to Syaiful in Pontianak city. In this study there were 100 key respondents to answer questionnaires. Through five dimensions namely product quality dimensions, service quality dimensions, price dimensions, emotional dimensions, and ease dimensions will be known attributes - what attributes need to be maintained, performance, improved or reduced and determine the top priority, maintain achievements, low priority and excessive priority into cartesian diagrams. Respondents with accidental sampling who happened to meet with researchers to be analyzed using Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI). IPA results showed that the dimensions of consumer satisfaction that became the main priority in improving the performance of its implementation are honey color, honey aroma, neat-looking employees, affordable prices, prices according to product quality, proud to consume local honey. CSI results showed that the contingency satisfaction level in Syaiful honey shop fell into the category of satisfied with avalue of 71.20%.
