Abstract

The abstract should be clear, concise, descriptive and should provide a brief introduction to the problem. A statement: Electricity is a necessity that plays an important role in human life. So, the potential plan for Persada Tongra village is to build an environmentally friendly power plant that includes renewable energy. Terangun district, Gayo Lues Regency, has the potential of a river that can be used as a micro-hydro power plant (PLTMH) source. The purpose of this research is to find out how big the potential of water to generate electrical energy is in the river in Persada Tongra Village. The method used in calculating the water discharge in the river flow uses the floating method, and measurements are made using a stopwatch. Based on the measurement results at the location, it produces water potential with a maximum discharge of 1.16 m3/s, a total height of 1.47 m, and the highest generated power is 16.71 kW. It is hoped that the results of this study can later be used as an energy source where this energy source can be used to generate electricity in the Gayo Lues district.

Abstract

In an intercity movement, the choice of mode plays a fairly important role, someone will move from one city to another will certainly consider many things. In traveling during the day or night on the Lhokseumawe Medan route or vice versa, travelers will be faced with a choice of land transportation modes, namely using the Putra Pelangi Bus and the Hiace Minibus. This study aims to determine the characteristics of mode users, factors that influence mode selection. Modeling analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression analysis method. Multiple linear analysis serves to measure the effect of the independent variables on the dependent variable. There are two regression models in this study, the first model based on the characteristics of the mode (Y1) and the second based on the characteristics of the passengers (Y2). The best model based on the characteristics of the mode is Y1= 0.656 + 0.021X1 + 0.108X2 + 0.019X3 + 0.130X4 with R2=0.962 and The best model based on the characteristics of the passengers is Y2= Y= 1,775-0,032X1+0,094X2-0,005X3+0,028X4+0,079X5+0,059X6-0,226X8 with R2=0.564. Abstract

The phenomenon of violence in the formation of nation-states in the 19th and 20th centuries, especially during the era of nationalism, had significant impacts on many countries, including Indonesia. This violence is linked to an official, exclusive, and elitist nationalism narrative, as seen in Aceh. The history of the "Cumbok Tragedy" in Aceh illustrates how nationalism can lead to violence. The impacts of conflict, such as in the Cumbok Tragedy, include infrastructure damage, security uncertainty, psychological effects, and social disruption. Development planning in East Aceh must consider rehabilitation, reintegration, and peace efforts to achieve effective and sustainable development. In the context of the Cumbok tragedy, the historical narrative that is written and often understood by the public originates from power and colonial control. Therefore, there is a need for a political movement to offer a new, more democratic, postcolonial meaning, bridging the sociocultural reconciliation movement. This research will be conducted in Aceh Regency, which is the epicenter of the conflict and the most distorted area in the history of the Cumbok Tragedy. A qualitative social approach with a case study method will be used to explore the real-life situation of the case. The research results on the Cumbok Tragedy in East Aceh reveal the complexity of history through in-depth narratives from the families of the victims, such as Teuku Saiful Anwar and Cut Anzar Hanum, who highlight the direct impacts and differing perspectives compared to the official historical version. The inaccuracies in the current historical writing have caused tensions, underscoring the importance of historical reconciliation. Experts, including Prof. Ismail Fahmi Arrauf Nasution, emphasize that honest and balanced disclosure, along with university involvement, is a crucial step to improving historical understanding and building sustainable peace in Aceh. Awareness of various perspectives and a commitment to reconciliation are key to healing past wounds and creating a more harmonious future.

Abstract

AbstractFoundations play a critical role in safely transferring structural loads to supporting soil layers. This study aims to evaluate the axial bearing capacity and settlement of pile foundations under both single-pile and pile-group conditions by comparing the Meyerhof method, the Reese Wright method, and numerical analysis using PLAXIS 2D. The analysis is based on Standard Penetration Test (SPT) data and pile foundation design drawings. The results indicate significant variations among the applied methods. The axial bearing capacity of a single pile is estimated at 441.67 tons using the Meyerhof method, 111.669 tons using the Reese Wright method, and 110.64 tons using PLAXIS 2D. The pile group efficiency is calculated as 0.83 using the Converse–Labarre method and 0.727 using the Los Angeles Group method. Meanwhile, the bearing capacity of pile groups is determined to be 293.40 tons, 74.141 tons, and 167.68 tons using the Meyerhof, Reese Wright, and PLAXIS 2D approaches, respectively. The settlement analysis yields values of 25.3 mm using the Vesic method and 37.7 mm from numerical simulation, both of which are within allowable limits according to SNI standards. These findings indicate that the Reese Wright method provides results closer to numerical analysis, making it more representative for foundation design under similar soil conditions. Keywords:Bearing capacity; Meyerhof method; Plaxis; Pile; Standard penetration test.

Abstract

Background and Aim: Blang Asan Village has economic potential in the brick production sector; however, production activities are still conventional and have not integrated innovations in construction material technology. In addition, unmanaged Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) plastic waste contributes to environmental problems. This community service activity aimed to implement a circular economy concept by transforming LDPE plastic waste into environmentally friendly construction materials in the form of eco-paving blocks. Methods: The program was implemented using an experimental and participatory approach involving local partners through socialization, technical training, and construction implementation assistance. Laboratory testing was conducted on six specimen variations molded using 3 kg hexagonal molds. The mixtures consisted of LDPE plastic waste, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, cement, and varying amounts of used oil. Compressive strength tests were performed to determine the optimal composition. Results: The compressive strength test showed that the best composition was obtained with 15% LDPE without an oil mixture, producing a compressive strength value of 24.2 MPa. Based on SNI 03-0691-1996 standards, the product met the B Quality criteria, making it suitable for parking area applications. The program successfully transferred technology to local brick craftsmen, enabling them to independently produce eco-friendly construction materials. Conclusion: The application of LDPE-based eco-paving blocks effectively reduced plastic waste while creating value-added construction products with economic potential. This program also supported the development of sustainable green economy practices in Blang Asan Village.
