Abstract

Teachers’ pedagogical abilities in delivering instruction have not yet reached an optimal level, and professionalism remains a key element in improving educational quality. The Teacher Professional Allowance (TPG) functions as an essential support mechanism for fostering teachers’ ongoing professional growth. This study seeks to examine the effectiveness of the Teacher Professional Allowance in strengthening teacher professionalism at SD Negeri 171 Palembang, focusing on the stages of planning, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method, incorporating observations, interviews, and document analysis. Data were analyzed through processes of reduction, organization, and conclusion drawing. The results demonstrate that the Teacher Professional Allowance contributes positively to teachers’ performance as professional educators. The allowance enhances teachers’ motivation to prepare well-developed learning materials and utilize engaging, interactive teaching approaches, which in turn contribute to improved learning achievements. Overall, the study concludes that teacher professionalism is closely influenced by their attitudes and conduct in fulfilling their responsibilities. The findings are consistent with Glickman’s theory, which posits that professional educators exhibit strong competencies and high motivation, enabling effective learning processes and the attainment of quality educational outcomes.

Abstract

This investigation is grounded in the need for creative and engaging instructional media to enhance learning quality at the primary school level. A quantitative method with a descriptive–correlational design was employed. The research population consisted of all teachers working in public elementary schools within the district, and the sample was selected using a cluster random sampling technique centered on Cluster 6. This cluster includes six schools with a total of 69 participating teachers. Data were collected through a questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale, designed to assess three variables: educational play tools (X₁), teachers’ learning motivation (X₂), and students’ learning outcomes (Y). Each variable comprised 30 items. The data were analyzed using Pearson Product–Moment correlation and multiple regression, processed with SPSS version 26. The findings indicate that (1) educational play tools contribute positively and significantly to students’ learning outcomes (r = 0.564; sig. 0.000 < 0.05, suggesting a moderate-to-strong correlation), (2) teachers’ learning motivation shows a positive but statistically insignificant relationship with students’ learning outcomes (r = 0.208; sig. 0.086 > 0.05, indicating a weak and non-significant effect), and (3) both variables jointly exert a positive and significant influence on students’ learning outcomes (R = 0.601; sig. 0.000 < 0.05, reflecting a strong combined effect).

Abstract

This study aims, first, to analyze the effect of principals’ academic supervision on teacher performance in public elementary schools in Cluster II, Jejawi District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency; second, to analyze the effect of teachers’ work motivation on teacher performance in public elementary schools in Cluster II, Jejawi District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency; and third, to analyze the simultaneous effect of principals’ academic supervision and teachers’ work motivation on teacher performance in public elementary schools in Cluster II, Jejawi District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. The population of this study consisted of all 63 teachers in public elementary schools in Cluster II, Jejawi District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, all of whom were used as the research sample. Data were collected using a Likert scale–based questionnaire and analyzed using correlation and regression techniques with the assistance of the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 26, as well as manual calculations.The results show that principals’ academic supervision has an effect on teacher performance of 60.3%, while the remaining 39.7% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study. In addition, teachers’ work motivation has an effect on teacher performance of 47.5%, while the remaining 52.5% is influenced by other factors outside this study. Furthermore, principals’ academic supervision and teachers’ work motivation simultaneously have an effect on teacher performance of 86%, while the remaining 14% is influenced by other factors beyond the scope of this study.

Abstract

This research was conducted uTo find out whether there is an influence of transformational leadership and work motivation on teacher performance. The research method used is descriptive quantitative through a survey. Data were collected by distributing a “Likert Scale” Questionnaire to 82 teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Lilin, SMP Negeri 5 Sungai Lilin, SMPS Islam Ar – Riyadl and SMP Al Azhar As-Syarif. The research findings show that 1) Transformational leadership is able to influence teacher performance positively and significantly, as indicated by tcount > ttable (4.292 > 1.668) and Sig. < α (0.000 < 0.05). 2) Work motivation is able to influence teacher performance positively and significantly, as indicated by tcount > ttable (4.883 > 1.668) and Sig. < α (0.000 < 0.05). 3) Transformational leadership and work motivation together are able to influence teacher performance positively and significantly, as shown by Fcount > Ftable (19.528 > 3.11) and Sig. < α (0.000 < 0.05). With these results it can be concluded that transformational leadership and work motivation greatly influence teacher performance. This shows that the creation of a conducive work environment, increases professional commitment, and encourages teachers to carry out educational tasks effectively and with quality in teaching so that student achievement, character and positive attitudes of students increase. It is hoped that school principals can understand and apply transformational leadership consistently and sustainably, so that they can continue to motivate teachers in achieving common goals.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the principal’s strategies in improving teacher professionalism, focusing on pedagogical and professional competencies at SMP Negeri 4 Rambutan. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a total of 11 informants, consisting of 1 principal, 2 vice principals, and 8 teachers selected purposively. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, while data analysis uses the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the principal’s strategies are implemented through integrated stages of planning, implementation, and supervision. The improvement in teacher professionalism is primarily reflected in pedagogical competence (classroom management and the use of innovative teaching methods) and professional competence (mastery of subject matter). One innovative strategy applied is the implementation of in-house training based on teacher learning communities to overcome budget constraints. Evaluation is conducted through academic supervision, routine meetings, and continuous teacher performance appraisal (PKG). Overall, the principal has successfully established a collaborative, adaptive, and quality-oriented school culture aimed at improving the teaching and learning process. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis strategi kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan profesionalisme guru yang mencakup aspek kompetensi pedagogik dan profesional di SMP Negeri 4 Rambutan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan jumlah informan sebanyak 1 kepala sekolah, 2 wakil kepala sekolah, dan 8 guru yang dipilih secara purposive. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi, sedangkan analisis data menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi kepala sekolah dilaksanakan melalui tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan pengawasan yang terintegrasi. Peningkatan profesionalisme guru terlihat terutama pada aspek kompetensi pedagogik (pengelolaan kelas dan penggunaan metode pembelajaran inovatif) serta kompetensi profesional (penguasaan materi ajar). Salah satu strategi inovatif yang diterapkan adalah pelaksanaan in-house training berbasis komunitas belajar guru untuk mengatasi keterbatasan anggaran. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui supervisi akademik, rapat rutin, serta penilaian kinerja guru (PKG) secara berkelanjutan. Secara keseluruhan, kepala sekolah berhasil menciptakan budaya sekolah yang kolaboratif, adaptif, dan berorientasi pada peningkatan mutu pembelajaran.
