Abstract

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are key concerns in labor platforms and the gig economy because the work flexibility they offer is often accompanied by new forms of inequality for workers. Guided by the PRISMA 2020 framework, this systematic literature review (SLR) synthesizes the literature on DEI in the context of labor platforms. Articles were collected from Scopus, Google Scholar, forward citation searching, and reference-list screening. After deduplication and title, abstract, and full-text screening, 64 studies were analyzed using descriptive and thematic approaches. This study examines various forms of DEI-related inequality, the platform mechanisms that shape them, and the contextual factors that support or hinder DEI implementation. The findings suggest that although labor platforms can expand access to work, they may also reinforce inequality through algorithmic control, rating-based discrimination, unclear employment status, income instability, and limited social protection. Key issues identified include gender, race, ethnicity, migration, disability, algorithmic bias, worker representation, regulation, and employment equity. This study proposes a research and policy agenda to promote fairer, more transparent, inclusive, and sustainable digital labor platforms.

Abstract

Employee job satisfaction plays a crucial role in enhancing organizational performance, particularly within public service institutions that operate under demanding workloads, continuous organizational changes, and complex service responsibilities. Employees of BPJS Kesehatan are expected to sustain high performance while coping with various work-related challenges that may influence their psychological well-being. This study investigates the effects of mental health and work-life balance on job satisfaction, with psychological capital serving as a mediating variable among employees of BPJS Kesehatan Branch Offices in Jakarta. A quantitative research approach with a cross-sectional design was adopted. The study involved 231 respondents selected through proportionate stratified random sampling from the employee population. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0. The findings indicate that both mental health and work-life balance exert positive and significant effects on employee job satisfaction. In addition, these two variables significantly enhance psychological capital, which in turn positively influences job satisfaction. The mediation analysis further demonstrates that psychological capital significantly mediates the relationships between mental health, work-life balance, and job satisfaction. These results emphasize the importance of fostering optimism, hope, self-efficacy, and resilience as key psychological resources to improve employee satisfaction. The findings also offer practical insights for BPJS Kesehatan in designing human resource strategies that promote employee well-being and support sustainable organizational performance.

Abstract

Nurses occupy a strategic position in hospital service quality due to their intensive, continuous interaction with patients, yet high workloads in complex healthcare settings often threaten their psychological wellbeing and job satisfaction. This study aims to examine the influence of resilience and social support on nurses' job satisfaction at RS YARSI Central Jakarta, with sleep quality and mental support serving as mediating variables, and to test twelve hypotheses derived from these relationships. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design was employed, using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analyzed through SmartPLS 4.0. Data were collected from 160 active nurses selected through purposive sampling via a structured Likert-scale questionnaire measuring resilience, social support, sleep quality, mental support, and job satisfaction. The results show that resilience and social support each have a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, sleep quality, and mental support. Mental support significantly mediates the relationship between resilience and job satisfaction, as well as between social support and job satisfaction. However, sleep quality does not significantly mediate either relationship, nor does it show a significant direct effect on job satisfaction, indicating that psychosocial pathways are more dominant than physiological ones in shaping nurses' job satisfaction in this context. These findings suggest that hospital management should prioritize strengthening resilience-building programs and workplace mental support systems—such as supervisory communication, peer support, and psychological counseling—over relying solely on sleep-related interventions to enhance nurses' job satisfaction and, ultimately, retention and service quality at RS YARSI.

Abstract

Employee work engagement is an important factor in achieving organizational effectiveness, particularly in the food and beverage industry, where employees face dynamic workloads and intensive customer interactions. However, factors influencing work engagement, including emotional intelligence, job crafting, perceived organizational support, and job satisfaction, remain challenging aspects within service-based organizations. This study aims to examine the effects of emotional intelligence, job crafting, and perceived organizational support on work engagement through job satisfaction as a mediating variable among employees of Kaizen Heritage coffee shops in Jakarta. This research employed a quantitative approach with a causal research design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 158 employees selected using purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results showed that job crafting and job satisfaction had positive and significant effects on work engagement, whereas emotional intelligence and perceived organizational support did not have significant direct effects. Furthermore, job crafting and perceived organizational support significantly improved job satisfaction, while emotional intelligence did not demonstrate a significant influence. The mediation analysis revealed that job satisfaction significantly mediated the relationships between job crafting, perceived organizational support, and work engagement but did not mediate the relationship between emotional intelligence and work engagement. This study concludes that employee engagement in the food and beverage industry is strongly influenced by proactive work adaptation and positive job experiences. Therefore, organizations should enhance job crafting opportunities and improve employee satisfaction through supportive management practices to strengthen work engagement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Career Development, Culture Value, and Emotional Intelligence on Personal Branding with Self-Efficacy as a mediating variable in State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in Tegal City Government. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey method by distributing questionnaires to 360 ASN consisting of Civil Servants (PNS) and Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK). The sampling technique used proportionate stratified random sampling, while data analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with the help of SmartPLS 4. The results showed that Career Development, Culture Value, and Emotional Intelligence had a positive and significant effect on Self-Efficacy. In addition, these three variables also have a positive and significant effect on Personal Branding. Self-Efficacy was proven to have a positive and significant effect on Personal Branding and was able to significantly mediate the influence of Career Development, Culture Value, and Emotional Intelligence on Personal Branding. The coefficient of determination value shows that the model is able to explain 70.1% of the variation in Self-Efficacy and 76.8% of the variation in Personal Branding. The findings of this study indicate that strengthening the career development system, internalizing organizational cultural values, and increasing emotional intelligence can increase the self-confidence of ASN which ultimately strengthens Personal Branding in carrying out tasks and public services. This study provides an empirical contribution to the development of public sector human resource management, particularly in efforts to improve the professionalism and image of the apparatus through strengthening internal organizational factors.

Abstract

his study examines how algorithmically managed platform work produces digital labor precarity among Indonesian millennials and identifies the structural conditions through which prolonged insecurity may increase exposure to transnational high-risk labor. Rather than assuming a direct transition from gig work to mercenary activity, the study proposes the Precariat–Transnational Risk Pathway as a cautious analytical framework linking platform control, income instability, weakened social protection, human-capital stagnation, and risky labor-mobility choices. An integrative qualitative literature review was conducted using peer-reviewed studies, Indonesian labor and legal scholarship, policy documents, and international humanitarian-law sources published primarily between 2021 and early 2026. Thematic synthesis generated four findings: algorithmic control produces constrained autonomy; income volatility encourages self-exploitation; limited training and career mobility erode human capital; and transnational security recruitment represents a conditional risk shaped by poverty, marginalization, prior skills, recruitment networks, and weak state protection. The study contributes an interdisciplinary model connecting digital labor studies with human-security analysis and recommends transparent platform governance, portable social protection, accessible grievance mechanisms, continuous reskilling, and preventive labor-migration oversight.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HCAI) in police human resource management at Polres Metropolitan Jakarta Utara. The study responds to the growing use of artificial intelligence in HRM and the limited scholarly attention given to AI-HRM in police organizations as hierarchical, disciplinary, and public-service institutions. Using a qualitative exploratory case study design, the research examines how AI can support personnel administration, competency mapping, training needs analysis, performance evaluation, workload distribution, and evidence-based HR decision-making while preserving human judgment, procedural fairness, data protection, and organizational trust. Data were collected through document analysis, limited observation of HR-related administrative processes, and semi-structured inquiry with organizational actors relevant to HRM, data management, supervision, and personnel governance. Thematic analysis produced five interconnected themes: organizational readiness, human control, system transparency, algorithmic fairness, and personnel data protection as foundations of organizational trust. The findings show that AI should be positioned as a decision-support mechanism rather than an autonomous decision-maker, especially for high-impact decisions such as promotion, transfer, disciplinary guidance, integrity assessment, and career development. The study contributes to AI-HRM literature by extending the discussion from private-sector automation to public security organizations and by proposing a human-centered governance framework for ethical, secure, fair, and accountable AI-HRM implementation. Practically, the study recommends gradual implementation through data governance improvement, AI literacy, human-in-the-loop protocols, algorithmic audits, privacy safeguards, and clarification mechanisms for affected personnel.
