Abstract

Abstract

Objective: This study examines the implementation of Islamic education principles from the book Ta'lim al-Muta'allim by Burhanuddin al-Zarnuji in the learning process at madrasas. These principles emphasize the importance of adab (etiquette), sincere intentions, and ethics in education, which remain relevant to modern educational contexts. Method: Using a qualitative approach with a case study methodology and literature review, this research combines in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis to explore how these principles are applied in Madrasah Al Ishlah. Results: The findings reveal that key principles such as right intention, respect for teachers, diligence, and knowledge practice have been successfully integrated into the learning environment at Madrasah Al Ishlah. These principles have significantly contributed to developing students' character, including discipline, responsibility, and noble morals. However, challenges persist in balancing moral education with the academic demands of the curriculum. Novelty: This study highlights the relevance of Ta'lim al-Muta'allim in contemporary Islamic education, demonstrating that its principles not only enhance the quality of religious education but also offer a robust model for character education in madrasas, bridging the gap between academic achievements and moral development.

Abstract

Corruption is a serious problem that is rooted in various sectors of life, including the world of education. This study aims to analyze how educational philosophy can be used as a foundation in forming an anti-corruption culture in schools. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method to analyze philosophical concepts and their application in anti-corruption education. The findings of the study show that the philosophy of Islamic education contains values such as honesty, responsibility, justice, and integrity that are relevant in building the character of students. The thoughts of figures such as Plato, Ki Hajar Dewantara, and John Dewey also contributed to the understanding of the importance of character education in preventing corruption. The implementation of these values can be done through integration in the curriculum, teacher examples, transparent school policies, and cooperation with families and communities. By applying the philosophy of education as the basis for forming anti-corruption awareness and attitudes, schools can be at the forefront of producing a generation with integrity and commitment to building a society that is clean from corruption.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze regional financial management in Sambas Regency for 5 years from 2017 to 2021. The main focus of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of regional government financial performance through financial ratio analysis, analysis of the realization of regional revenue and expenditure budgets (APBD). The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive approach with regional financial management analysis techniques in Sambas Regency. Based on the descriptive qualitative approach, several main findings were found such as low human resource capacity, weak internal control systems, and inaccuracy in budget planning. The results of this study indicate that the liquidity ratio consisting of an average current ratio of 0.82 means that every Rp. 1, - current debt is guaranteed by Rp. 0.82, - current assets, an average cash ratio of 0.35 means that every Rp. 1, - current assets of Rp. 0.35 are cash and cash equivalents; cash to current liabilities average of 0.29 means the ability of the Regional Government to pay immediately every Rp.1- current debt using cash and equivalents of Rp.0.29,- average quick ratio of 0.60 means that the ability of the Regional Government to meet short-term obligations for every Rp.1,- using cash, cash equivalents and receivables. Of Rp.0.60, the average cash flow ratio of 2.31 means the ability of a Regional Government's operating cash flow to pay every Rp.1,- current debt owned using operating cash of Rp.2.31,-; the leverage ratio measured is the short-term debt to long-term debt ratio of 1.00. Based on the research presentation above, the researcher recommends the need to improve the competence of regional financial management apparatus through continuous training, strengthening digital-based financial management information systems and optimizing the role of the regional inspectorate as an internal supervisory institution. It is hoped that there will be improvements by the Regional Government in the coming year to ensure that the Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR) remains at the minimum limit outlined by the Central Government because if loans continue to increase, there is concern that the Sambas Regency Regional Government will not be able to meet mandatory expenditure as regulated in PP 30/2011 concerning regional loans in Article 15 paragraph (1) letter b. Keywords : Analysis, Regional Financial Management, Sambas Regency Government.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of AI-assisted learning in enhancing students’ scientific argumentation skills within Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SMKN Widang. As digital tools become more integrated into education, understanding their impact on higher-order thinking skills is increasingly relevant. A quasi-experimental design was employed, involving two groups: an experimental class (XI-A) that used AI tools such as ChatGPT for constructing arguments and receiving instant feedback, and a control class (XI-B) that received conventional instruction. Data were collected through argumentation tests, classroom observations, and interviews. Statistical analysis was conducted using an independent sample t-test in SPSS 26. The experimental group showed a significantly higher improvement in argumentation skills (Mean = 76.34, SD = 15.53) compared to the control group (Mean = 55.34, SD = 17.99), with a large effect size (Cohen’s d = 1.25, p 0.05). AI tools facilitated student engagement by enabling real-time feedback, personalized content, and multiple perspectives, particularly in discussing contemporary issues like brawls and substance abuse from an Islamic viewpoint. These findings suggest that AI-based learning can effectively support scientific argumentation in religious education contexts by fostering deeper analysis and critical thinking. Despite limitations—such as being restricted to one institution and a single AI tool—the results highlight the potential of AI integration for contextual and individualized learning. Future studies could explore broader applications across disciplines and educational levels.

Abstract

The Finnish education model is widely recognized for its holistic, flexible, and student-centered approach. However, its implementation in other contexts, such as Indonesia, presents significant structural and cultural challenges. This study explores how secondary school teachers in Indonesia understand Finnish educational principles, the obstacles they face in adopting them, and the strategies they employ for contextual adaptation. A qualitative phenomenological design was used to capture teachers' lived experiences. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis at three secondary schools in Central Java, representing diverse institutional and socio-cultural contexts. Thematic analysis was conducted through open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. The study identified three major barriers to adaptation: institutional rigidity, incompatibility with the prevailing learning culture, and limitations in educational infrastructure. Teachers demonstrated varying levels of understanding of Finnish principles, influenced by their training and school environment. Adaptation strategies included implementing interest-based projects, promoting flexible learning methods, and fostering more humanistic teacher–student relationships. The findings suggest that adapting Finnish educational values in Indonesia is not a matter of replication but requires contextual translation. Successful implementation depends on sustained teacher professional development, culturally responsive curriculum design, and policy support that enables flexibility while addressing local constraints. Finnish educational principles can inspire meaningful innovation in Indonesian schools when adapted thoughtfully. Building a supportive ecosystem through training, policy, and cultural sensitivity is key to bridging global models with local realities.

Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find the curriculum model of Ma'had Aly Iqna' Ath-Thalibin Sarang in the reproduction of ulama cadres, as well as to discover its implementation in learning. This research was conducted using a descriptive approach and a qualitative research design. The descriptive approach in the context of this research is used to seek and provide an overview of the form and implementation of the Ma'had 'Aly educational curriculum. This study employs several techniques, including non-participant observation, unstructured interviews, and documentation. Data validity tests were conducted using triangulation of techniques and sources. Data analysis was performed interactively and continuously until the data was completed, according to Miles and Huberman. The research results indicate that Ma'had Aly Iqna' Ath-Thalibin Sarang integrates courses that are distinctive or specific to its major namely tasawuf, based on the reference of the Minister of Religious Affairs Regulation (PMA) which requires several general subjects. This curriculum is implemented using two learning strategies. That is, in the form of face-to-face and non-face-to-face. In the face-to-face format, the methods used are bandongan, sorogan, and mudzakaroh. Meanwhile, the non-face-to-face format is realized in the form of bahtsul masail, assignments, both individually and in groups. Overall, the implementation and evaluation framework at MAIT Sarang demonstrate a balanced approach between traditional Islamic pedagogy and modern academic standards, aiming to produce ulama who are intellectually competent, spiritually grounded, and socially responsible.
