Abstract

The Tretes Ecotourism area has been a plezier tourist destination since the Dutch colonial era, which offered mountainous natural charm, the weather that urban people desire, strong community culture, and the strategic position of the city center that had not shown the number of visits it should have. Especially if it is compared to Batu Tourism City, which is located further from Surabaya. Several problems were still unresolved, such as the availability of tourism diversity infrastructure and services. Moreover, the stigma of a location for hidden prostitution was a serious problem that can reduce tourist confidence. Using Butler's Tourism Area Life Cycle (TALC) theory about the development phases of tourism destination areas, this paper offered three revitalization strategies to return the Tretes Tourism Area as a favorite tourist destination. First, the Optimization Strategy, namely optimizing the potential possessed; Second, the Response Strategy, namely overcoming the crucial and urgent problems that are felt by tourists when visiting Tretes; Third, the Connection Strategy, which was to connect potential with market needs (link and match), services and tourism trends at the domestic and foreign levels. Developing Halal Tourism (Halal Tourism), which was becoming an international tourism trend, was expected to be an exit strategy for various tourism problems in Tretes by optimizing the potential for environmental tourism (Ecotourism) so that it became an alternative destination for the educational tourism market and family tourism in Indonesia. Abstract

The remaining tropical forest on the south coast of the Malang region is one of the secluded areas that served as an important habitat for its biodiversity, particularly for avians. Nevertheless, the presence of the road structure that crosses over the forest might impact avian communities, which needs to be investigated. The avian survey was conducted to investigate the diversity, community profiles, abundance, and feeding guild based on two different ecosystem patches (on the roads versus outside the road structures) during January–April 2022. The audiovisual encounter methods were performed during the surveys on a total of ten sampling points. Avian species were identified using field guides where the conservation status was based on the national regulation (P106 KLHK), CITES, and IUCN Redlist. The comparison through the avian community based on species richness was analyzed using Venn Diagrams and predicted using rarefaction and interpolation curves on INEXT packages. Additionally, the comparison of sizes of avian abundance was investigated using the α-diversity parameter index, and the feeding guild was determined by five diet guilds. In total, 2536 individuals from 67 species, 34 families, and 13 orders were found during the survey. The avian communities were richer outside the road structure, but their abundance qualitatively reveals that both different ecosystem patches showed relatively good condition. Overall, road structures generate both positive (unique habitat patches) and negative (physical barriers that could disrupt natural ecological processes) impacts on avian diversity. In light of these, sustainable management and conservation action plans were urgently needed to prevent the negative effects on avian communities posed by the road structure.

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat di Kecamatan Kalipuro ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang keterkaitan tanaman dan lingkungannya, terutama aspek-aspek terkait kondisi geografis menjadi dasar dari penguatan produk kopi, memperbaiki metode pengolahan kopi dengan transfer dan difusi teknologi roasting kopi, memberikan edukasi terhadap sistem pertanian berbasis geoinformasi dan agrowisata melalui IPTEK bagi masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan dan Forum Grup Discussion (FGD) untuk mencapai tujuan yang ditetapkan. Pemahaman yang terintegrasi antara penggunaan geoinformasi, teknologi pengolahan kopi, dan pengembangan agrowisata dalam sektor kopi rakyat memiliki potensi untuk meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat sekaligus menjaga kelestarian kopi menuju indikasi geografis kopi Banyuwangi.

Abstract

Gumuk is a unique landscape in Jember Regency resulting from the eruption of Mount Raung that can provide ecosystem services through its ecological functions. Increased mining activity in Gumuk and land-use changes can lead to a decline in biodiversity and affect ecosystem services. This study aims to determine the diversity of herbaceous in the Gumuk ecosystem. Conducted in January - March 2021 in Ledokombo District, Jember Regency. The spatial distribution of Gumuk was carried out using GIS. Herbaceous sampling was carried out using 2x2 plots on three types of Gumuk utilisation, namely mixed gardens, sand mining, and stone mining. The results showed that there were 136 Gumuk in Ledokombo District. One hundred twenty herbaceous species (49 families) were found in all types of Gumuk. Mixed gardens have the highest species diversity (109 species, 49 families) compared to other types. Digitaria sanguinalis (L.) Scop. has high dominance in all types. Species dominance showed a moderate category for all types of Gumuk (D = 0.07). Community complexity in all types was in the high class (D' = 0.90) and species diversity was in the high class (H’ = 3.25). Evenness index € was different in the three types of Gumuk; in mixed gardens, the evenness of species was lower (0.23) than the other two types.

Abstract

Danyangan is A proof traditional conservation created by local wisdom. Knowledge of bioculture provides a facts play a role in understanding the ecological processes that occur and providing an overview local efforts in protecting the environment. The village’s. Danyangan has the form of a collection of large trees marked by the presence of sacred fig trees (Ficus sp.). Moreover, the fig tree become a habitat for several species of birds. The canopy’s cover reserves water, insects, and fruits as food for birds and creates an interesting relation as a microhabitats.The location of this study was carried out in the administrative district of Malang district in Tumpang, East Java in the area of the district located in Gubugklakah, Kunci, Drigu, Poncokusomo, Puthuk, Pandansari, Jajang, and Aran-aran. Bird observation is carried out using the point count or IPA method.The study recorded 636 individuals consisting of 31 species, 21 families and 9 orders. The birds identified were dominated by Passeriformes as many as 11 families. Based on the results, shows all locations in the danyangan area dominated by detailed Swallow (Collocalia linchii). Instead, The value of bird species abundance in all study locations is included in the high category of values ranging >4.

Abstract

Spinach (Amaranthus tricolor L.) is a highly nutritious leafy vegetable widely cultivated for its rich content of vitamins and minerals. To enhance spinach production sustainably, this study investigates the use of liquid organic fertilizer derived from maggot fermentation combined with AB mix nutrients, applied through a drip fertigation system. The study was conducted using three different concentrations: 2.5 ml/L, 5 ml/L, and 7.5 ml/L, with the goal of identifying optimal conditions for maximizing spinach growth. The research utilized a two-factorial, Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five replications to evaluate the effects of these nutrient combinations on key growth parameters, including plant height, leaf number, leaf area and weight of plants. Results indicated that a concentration of 7.5 ml/L provided the most favorable growth outcomes, with a 46.5 cm increase in plant height and a biomass accumulation of 61.8 grams, representing significant improvements over control treatments. The macro-nutrient content of the maggot-derived POC met national agricultural standards, except for pH, which improved to 7.10 when combined with AB mix. These findings suggest that integrating maggot POC with AB mix offers a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional fertilizers, promoting sustainable agricultural practices. This study contributes to developing efficient cultivation methods for spinach, addressing increasing market demands, and reducing reliance on chemical fertilizers.

Abstract

Penta Helix is used in public policy, but in some instances, the Penta Helix can be used as a standard for implementing restoration activities. The involvement of the Penta Helix Plus actor is vital to oversee mining activities and, at the same time, make restoration activities successful in mining.  This research method uses a mixed method, namely combining qualitative data in the form of interviews, documentation, and observations with quantitative data in the form of questionnaires, then conclusions are drawn. This research shows that the Penta Helix Plus is an alternative that involves many parties and becomes an ideal new pattern. Hypothesis testing was obtained at 2p = 0.90 in the rejection area of Ho. In addition, the role of Penta Helix Plus shows that entrepreneurs are much more dominant, with 29%, which shows the restoration of the PT. HMM is based on a high level of personal awareness. In addition, environmental sensitivity that must be returned to its original state is also the reason for this restoration. This study concludes that the median test results show the synergy between the Penta helix plus actors in the restoration activities of excavation C in Pasuruan. Penta Helix Plus is an offer for a new formulation as well as public participation in synergy in controlling exploitation activities and expecting restoration activities to be carried out. The involvement of the Penta Helix Plus cannot be separated from the elements of communication and coordination, which are the most critical synergy indicators. Abstract

The use of mangrove fruit to create economic benefit for the community is anticipated to bolster conservation efforts for the mangrove environment. In Mandar Banyuwangi Village, one application of mangrove fruit is its conversion into flour. This study aimed to examine the proximate composition of Rhizophora mucronata mangrove flour and evaluate the profitability of processing this flour into pastries. The analysis conducted encompasses the proximate content test (including protein, fat, water, ash, and carbs) and a profit analysis that factors in the cost of goods sold (COGS). Mangrove flour manufactured by Poklahsar “Mina UPA Karya” is derived from the fruit of Rhizophora mucronata. The processing method necessitated seven days to manufacture mangrove flour. The proximate composition of mangrove flour, as per SNI criteria, includes water and carbohydrate content, although protein, fat, and ash content are marginally over or below SNI specifications.  Mangrove flour is utilized in a variety of desserts, including nastar, kastengel, cookies, almond chocolate, roses, jam sumprit, chocolate sumprit, peanut cake, and krispi brownies. Products made using processed mangrove flour in pastries yield a profit margin of 9.16% of the cost of goods sold (COGS). The R/C, BEPs, BEPq, profit, and profitability ratio of the mangrove flour processing business indicate profitability, since they go over the minimum requirements of profitability criteria.

Abstract

Competition Level of Tourism Resort: A Case Study in Low Competition Level of Ijen Crater Tourism Resort in Banyuwangi. Doctorate Program in Management Science, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Brawijaya. Promoter: Djumilah Hadiwidjojo; Co-Promoters: Djumahir and Luchman Hakim. This research aims at revealing and examining: (1) Low number of visitors and low competition level of Ijen Crater Tourism Resort in Banyuwangi; (2) Characteristic stagnancy of Ijen Crater Tourism Resort in Banyuwangi; (3) The best strategy to rise competition level of Ijen Crater Tourism Resort in Banyuwangi. The research is conducted in Ijen Crater Tourism Resort in Banyuwangi using Positivistic Approach. This research is designed to apply interpretative study case, particularly single case interpretative study case. Additionally, Milles'and Huberman's Interactive Model is used in the analysis. The prominent findings of this research are: (1) Ijen Crater Tourism Resort is beautiful and unique, but the number of visitors and its competition level are relatively low. The low number of visitors is due to its characteristic which belongs to special tourism destination which is only for those who love adventure. Moreover, the location is very difficult to reach. The low competition level is resulted from unsupportive influential factors; (2) Characteristic stagnancy of Ijen Crater Tourism Resort is triggered by managerial aspect, in which the communication between Department of Natural Resources Conservation or Balai Besar Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam (BBKSDA), as the management, and Indonesia Culture and Tourism Ministry is not effective; (3) Niche Marketing Strategy and Marketing Mix can be effectively used to rise the competition level; (4) Resource-Based View (RBV) is applied to determine competition level of Ijen Crater Tourism Resort by using its natural resources, uniqueness, and capability. Its natural resources and uniqueness, which are the core competencies, must be well maintained as the strongest factors to attract visitors; (5) Destination Management Organization (DMO) as a means of tourim resorts management is not yet applied in the management of Ijen Crater Tourism Resort. The application of the management system is expected to rise number of visitors and competition level of Ijen Crater Tourism Resort. The success of the application requires a good team work of related stakeholders in tourism industry.
