Abstract

This study aims to determine the ratio of health promotion to knowledge about breast Cancer and breasts Cancer early detection skills (BE AWARE) in adolescent girls at Jatiling Jambi Health Polytechnic Year 2016. This type of research is quasi experimental with non-randomized pre-test-post-test group design. Instruments used are Instruments test knowledge about breast cancer and test instruments BSE skills. Data analysis was performed multivariate (MANOVA) and paired samples T-Test and independent samples T-Test. The results of the study were (1) there was a difference in knowledge about breast cancer between the groups that were given health promotion using leaflets with the group that was given health promotion using video, video media is better and gives more dominant influence to the knowledge aspects of breast cancer. Differences in breast cancer early detection skills (BSE) between health-promoted groups used leaflets and health-promoted groups used better videos media and more dominant influence on aspect of girls' breasts self- examination. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the use of videos US a media of health promotion is better than the use of leaflets to increase knowledge about breasts cancer and girls skills in early detection of breast cancer, so educators can make the video as an alternatives tools in providing learning to students.

Abstract

Quantile regression as a robust regression method can be used to overcome the impact of unusual cases on regression estimates such as the presence of potential outliers in the data. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of quantile regression in dealing with potential outliers in multiple linear regression compared to ordinary least square (OLS). This study used simulation data in multiple regression model with the number of independent variables (p=3) for different sample sizes (n = 20, 40, 60, 100, 200) and and repeated 1000 times. The effectiveness of the quantile regression method and OLS in estimating β parameters was measured by Mean square error (MSE) and the best model is chosen based on the smallest Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) value. The results showed that in contrast to OLS, quantile regression was able to deal with potential outliers and provided a better estimator with a smaller mean mean square error. Compared to OLS and other quantiles, this study also provides sufficient results that quantile 0.5 provides the best parameter estimate and the best model based on the smallest MSE and AIC values.

Abstract

This study is a quasi-experimental research (Quasi Experiment) that aims to determine the effect of guided inquiry learning model to the problem-solving ability of students Class XI SMAN 11 Makassar. The study design used was "posttest-Only Control Group Design ".The study population was the students of class XI MIA SMA Negeri 11 Makassar consisting of six classes, while the sample is a class XI MIA 4 as an experimental class and class XI MIA 6 as the control class with the number of students each 34 people. The experimental class was studied by guided inquiry model. While the control class was with conventional learning models.The independent variable in this study was guided inquirí learning model and conventional learning model. The dependent variable is the ability to solving problem.Data retrieval problem solving skills performed by administering the test problem solving abilities. Problem-solving abilities data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of inferential statistical analysis of the data prerequisite troubleshooting capabilities indicate that the data on the class experimental and control classes were not normally distributed, but had a homogeneous variance. Hypothesis testing was done by using a non-parametric test of Mann-Whitney test with α = 0.05 was obtained Zcalculated> Ztable (2:02> 1.64). The effect of guided inquiry learning model to the problem-solving ability of students in class XI MIA SMAN 11 Makassar studies on the subject matter of the reaction rate.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (Classroom Action Research) yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui cara menerapkan langkah-langkah discovery learning sehingga dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar dan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada materi termokimia. Penelitian ini berlangsung dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan evaluasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan lembar observasi aktivitas belajar dan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis setiap akhir siklus. Aktivitas dan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik meningkat setelah menerapkan model discovery learning dengan langkah-langkah sebagai berikut: 1) memberikan fenomena yang berkaitan dengan materi pembelajaran seperti memperlihatkan gambar yang menarik perhatian peserta didik, 2) meminta kepada peserta didik untuk mengemukakan pertanyaan dan gagasan mereka untuk membuat rumusan masalah dan hipotesis yang relevan dengan materi pembelajaran, 3) menuntut peserta didik untuk memperoleh informasi yang sesuai dengan materi melalui cara saling bertukar pendapat dan dari berbagai sumber belajar, 4) membimbing peserta didik untuk memproses data dan informasi yang diperoleh untuk menyelesaikan rumusan masalah, 5) memberikan kesempatan kepada setiap kelompok untuk mempresentasikan hasil diskusi dan menanggapi jawaban dari kelompok lain, 6) memberikan kesempatan kepada peserta didik mengajukan gagasan untuk menyimpulkan pembelajaran yang telah dilakukan. Rata-rata aktivitas belajar peserta didik pada siklus I sebesar 53,52% dengan kategori kurang aktif dan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik sebesar 57,90 dengan kategori cukup kritis. Sedangkan pada siklus II rata-rata aktivitas belajar peserta didik meningkat menjadi 76,84% dengan kategori aktif dan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik meningkat menjadi 74,90 dengan kategori kritis.

Abstract

Regression analysis is one of the statistical methods used to determine the causal relationship between one or more explanatory variables to the affected variable. The problem that often occurs in regression analysis is that there are multicollonity and outliers. To deal with such problems can be solved using ridge regression analysis and robust regression. Ridge regression can solve the problem of multicollinearas by assigning a constant k to the matrix Z′Z. But in this method the resulting bias value is still high, so to overcome this problem, the jackknife ridge regression method is used. Meanwhile, to overcome outliers in the data using robust regression methods which have several estimation methods, two of which are the Generalized-M (GM) estimator and the Least Trimmed Square (LTS) estimator. The aim of the study is to solve the problem of multicollinearity and outliers simultaneously using robust jackknife ridge regression method with GM estimators and LTS estimators. The results showed that the robust ridge jackknife regression method with LTS estimator can control multicollinearity and outliers simultaneously better based on MSE, AIC and BIC values compared to the robust ridge jackknife regression method with GM estimators. This is indicated by the value MSE = -6.60371, AIC = 75.823 and BIC = 81.642 on LTS estimators that are of lower value than GM estimators.

Abstract

Free radicals contribute to the onset of various degenerative diseases, highlighting the need for safe and effective antioxidants. Given the potential side effects associated with synthetic antioxidants, Sonneratia caseolaris is considered a promising natural alternative. This study aims to isolate secondary metabolites from the roots of S. caseolaris, evaluate their antioxidant activity, and analyze their molecular interactions. Extraction was conducted using a range of solvents, and antioxidant activity was assessed using the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) method. The ethyl acetate fraction exhibited the highest antioxidant activity and was subsequently subjected to isolation procedures. From this fraction, a white crystalline compound with a melting point of 251253C was obtained. Spectroscopic analysis identified the compound as 3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoate, a type of phenolic compound. This compound exhibited very strong antioxidant activity, with an IC value of 6.63 g/mL, which is significantly lower than that of ascorbic acid (17.64 g/mL), indicating higher potency. Molecular docking analysis showed that 3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoate formed strong interactions with active residues of cytochrome c peroxidase, particularly Trp51 and Gly112, through hydrogen bonds and hydrophobic interactions. Additionally, molecular dynamics simulations revealed that the compound-enzyme complex exhibited greater structural stability than the control (ascorbic acid), as indicated by lower residue fluctuations in root mean square deviation (RMSD) and root mean square fluctuation (RMSF) analysis analyses. These findings support the potential of Sonneratia caseolaris as a natural source for the development of antioxidant compounds with strong biological activity and favorable molecular interaction profiles

Abstract

Kegiatan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan kontekstual sangat penting dalam pengembangan kemampuan literasi dan numerasi anak usia dini. Penguatan literasi dan numerasi sejak usia dini menjadi fondasi penting dalam mendukung tumbuh kembang anak secara optimal. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi dan numerasi anak usia dini melalui pembelajaran kreatif dan menyenangkan, yaitu “Sate Buah Ceria” di TK Sipakalebbi, Gowa. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode demonstratif dan partisipatif, di mana tim PKM memperlihatkan secara langsung pembuatan sate buah dan melibatkan anak-anak serta guru dalam seluruh proses kegiatan. Melalui aktivitas ini, anak-anak terstimulasi untuk menyebutkan nama, rasa, warna, jumlah, jenis buah, memfasilitasi pemahaman visual dan konseptual. Sementara itu, metode partisipatif mendorong keterlibatan langsung anak dalam memilih, menghitung, dan menyusun buah, sehingga mereka secara langsung memahami konsep bilangan dan kuantitas. Anak-anak tidak hanya belajar tentang pentingnya konsumsi buah, tetapi juga berlatih keterampilan bahasa saat mendiskusikan berbagai buah dan rasa, serta keterampilan sosial saat bekerja sama dengan teman-teman. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menumbuhkan kecintaan anak terhadap buah-buahan sekaligus meningkatkan kemampuan literasi dan numerasi.

Abstract

Penelitian ekperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode talking stick pada model discovery learning terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas XI MIPA SMA Negeri 8 Makassar pada materi pokok koloid. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah posttest only control group design dengan populasi yaitu peserta didik kelas XI MIPA SMA Negeri 8 Makassar. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak dan diperoleh kelas XI MIPA 6 sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan jumlah peserta didik 34 orang dan kelas XI MIPA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol dengan jumlah peserta didik 34 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah pemberian tes hasil belajar pada kelas ekperimen dan kelas kontrol. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata hasil belajar peserta didik kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol secara berturut-turut sebesar 77,53 dan 77,38. Hasil analisis statitstik inferensial terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik menunjukkan bahwa data kelas ekperimen terdistribusi normal, data kelas kontrol tidak terdistribusi normal dan keduanya memiliki varians yang tidak homogen, sehingga uji hipotesis yang digunakan adalah Uji Mann-Whitney. Hasil analisis diperoleh Zhitung = 2,37 > Ztabel = 1,64. Berdasarkan hasil analisis tersebut, dapat dismpulkan bahwa metode talking stick pada model discovery learning berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas XI MIPA SMA Negeri 8 Makassar pada materi pokok koloid.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian eksplorasi ini bertujuan untuk mengisolasi dan mengidentifikasi senyawa metabolit sekunder dari ekstrak n-Heksana kulit batang mangrove Sonneratia caseolaris yang diperoleh dari daerah pinggiran Sungai Tallo Kelurahan Paccerakkang, Kota Makassar, Sulawesi Selatan. Isolasi dilakukan dalam beberapa tahap yaitu maserasi, partisi, fraksinasi, uji kemurnian dan identifikasi. Hasil yang diperoleh berupa isolat murni berupa kristal jarum berwarna putih dengan titik leleh 188,70C. Pengujian dengan Liebermann-Buchard (LB) menghasilkan warna hijau. Identifikasi dengan spektroskopi infra merah memberikan serapan pada bilangan gelombang (cm1) : 1035,77 (-CO); 1458,16 (-CH) dan 1379,10 (-CH); 1639,49 (C=C); 2939,52 (-C),  dan 2860,43 (-C); 3340,71 (-OH); 979,84 (=C). Berdasarkan uji pereaksi LB dan data IR maka senyawa tersebut adalah steroid.Kata kunci :  Pedada, Sonneratia caseolaris., Steroid, ABSTRACTThat exploratory research is aim to isolate and identifi the secondary metabolite compound contained in the n-hexane extract bark of Sonneratia caseolaris from Tallo River side, Paccerakkang district, Makassar City, South Sulawesi. Isolation was doned in several stages, were maceration, partitioning, fractionation, purity testing and identification. The result was obtained in pure white needle crystal with a melting point of 188,7 . Identification result with Liebermann-Buchard (LB)  test produced green color. Isolate was identified by analyzing the infra red spectroscopy which showed the wave number (cm-1) are: 1035,77 (-CO); 1458,16 (-CH) dan 1379,10 (-CH); 1639,49 (C=C); 2939,52 (-C),  dan 2860,43 (-C); 3340,71 (-OH); 979,84 (=C). Base on reagent test and FTIR datas, it is suggest, that isolate is sterol compound.Keyword : Pedada,  Sonneratia caseolaris, Sterol

Abstract

Anemia remains a public health concern, especially among adolescents and women of reproductive age. Midwifery students are a high-risk group due to intense academic demands and irregular eating habits. Natural-based interventions such as date extract and citrus fruits may help improve hemoglobin levels. The aimeds to determine the effectiveness of date extract combined with lemon and lime in increasing hemoglobin levels among midwifery students at Poltekkes Kemenkes Jambi.This study used a quasi-experimental design with a two-group pretest-posttest approach. A total of 40 students were divided into two groups: date-lemon and date-lime combinations. The intervention lasted for 7 days, and hemoglobin levels were measured before and after using a digital Hb set (Easy Touch). Data analysis used Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests with a significance level of 5%. Both groups showed significant increases in hemoglobin levels after the intervention. The increase in the date-lemon group (from 11.505 to 12.890 g/dL) was higher than in the date-lime group (from 11.425 to 12.145 g/dL). Statistical analysis revealed p-values < 0.05 for both groups, indicating a significant effect, with the lemon combination being more effective. Both date-lemon and date-lime combinations effectively increased hemoglobin levels, but the combination with lemon showed greater effectiveness. This natural intervention may serve as an alternative approach to managing mild anemia among young adults
