Abstract

Research on effects of some dose of palm oil mill effluentand media on the growth of oil palm Seedlings( Elaeisguineensis Jacq .) fase main nursery, plantation experiment have been conducted in garden experiment of the Agriculture Faculty, Riau University was startedon march  until june 2015. with the aim to get the dose of palm oil mill effluent and media works best for seedlings growth palm oil. A field experiment was conducted by using split plot design, in which three levels of media ie; Ultisol ,Histosol , and mixure, were assigned to main plot and four levels of palm oil mill effluentie; control , 0.8 l , 1.6 l , and 2.4 l. The Parameters observed were plant height, leavesnumber, the increase in diameter stump,root volume, root crown ratio, dry seedling weight.Based on research results that palm oil mill effluent 2.4 l in a media mixure show results in best than other treatment to increase plant height,diameter stump, root crown ratioon palm oil in  main nursery.   Keywords :palm oil mill effluent, media, oil palm Seedlings

Abstract

Increasing production of upland rice can be done by knowing the variety of upland rice which the most tolerance and the best ameliorant for ultisol soil. Variety which show the best response can be recommended to be planted on ultisol soil. This research aimed to get response some varieties of upland rice (Oryza sativa L.) which is planted on ultisol soil the giving of ameliorant. This research has been done in research farm in Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau from December 2014 untill May 2015. This research was done by factorial experiment 3x4 which was arranged using Split Plot Design. First factor are 3 varieties of upland rice as main plot: Inpago 8, Situ Patenggang and Situ Bagendit. Second factor are giving ameliorants: without ameliorant, calsite lime, natural rock phosphate and kirinyuh green manure. Parameters observed are plant heigh, harvesting date, penicle length, productive tillering amount, percentage of grain pithy, 1000 grain weight, dried grain weight, weight dry straw plant, ratio of grain and straw. Result showed the interaction between varieties of upland rice by giving ameliorant just happened harvesting date while plant heigh and penicle length just be effected by variety and dried grain weight effected by ameliorant. The recomendation to get the best variety of upland rice for ultisol soil according the result of the research is using Situ Bagendit variety by kirinyuh green manure as ameliorant.   Keywords: upland rice, ultisol soil, ameliorant

Abstract

The purpose of this research is determining the effect of some kinds from cocoa’s kind waste and NPK fertilizer and to get the best dose for the growth of cocoa plantation. This research was conducted in the experimental field and Laboratory of Production Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau in Campus Binawidya Km 12.5 Simpang Baru Pekanbaru. This research was conducted from January to April 2015. The research used Completely Randomized Design factorial that consisting of two factors. The first factor is the cocoa’s kind waste (T) consists of four levels, they are T1 = wet waste in chopped 100 g/plant; T2 = dry waste chopped 100 g/plant; T3 = dry waste burned 100 g/plant; T4 = compost cocoa exocarpium waste 100 g/plant. The second factor is the NPK fertilizer (U), which consists of 4 levels, namely U (3.75, 7.5, 11:25, 15) g/polybag. Both these factors resulted in 16 treatsment combinations, each combination made three replications, so that there are 48 experimental units. Each experimental unit consisted of four plants, so the total crop was 192 plants. Parameters measured were seedling height, number of leaves, stem diameter, leaf area, the ratio of crown roots  and seedling dry weight. Data obtained from the research results were statistically analyzed by analysis of variance followed by a further test of Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5%. Based on the research the provision of cocoa’s kind waste and NPK fertilizer on the cocoa seeds that have been made, the result showed that the treatment cocoa’s kind waste and NPK fertilizer had no significant on all parameters of observation. Treatment of cocoa’s kind waste burnt 100 g/seed and fertilizer NPK 7.5 g/seeds can be recommended to get the growth of cocoa’s seedling. Keywords : cocoa, cocoa’s kind waste and NPK fertilizer

Abstract

The research was conducted in the greenhouse of the Faculty of agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru Campus Binawidya Km 12.5 From April until September 2014. Trial using completely randomized design (CRD) factorial. First factor fertilizer N, P, K consists of 5 levels (0 g/polybag, 0.17 N, 0.09 P2O5,0.11K2O g/polybag, 0.35 N, 0.18P2O5, 0.23K2O g/polybag, 0.52N, 0.27P2O5, 0.34K2O g/polybag and 0.69N, 0.36P2O5,0.45K2O g/polybag) and OLF the second factor consists of 3 levels (0 ml, 350 ml and 700 ml/polybag). Treatment was repeated 3 times. Data results were analyzed statistically operates with anova and Duncan test continued level of 5%. The observed parameters is high plant, tillers maximum term, term productive tillers, harvest, long panicles per clump, clump of grain per time period, weight dry milled grain, percentage of grain pithy, weight of 100 grains, the efficiency of production and the effect of OLF differences efficiency of N, P, K. Results indicate combination of 0.69N, 0.36P2O5, 0.45K2O g/polybagwith OLF 700 ml/polybag increase high plant, tillers maximum term, term productive tillers, age harvest, long panicles per clump, period of grains per panicle, percentage of grain pithy, dry milled grain weight and production efficiency.   Keywords: upland rice, N, P, K, liquid organic fertilizer, production efficiency.

Abstract

Kailan (Brassica alboglabra) are vegetables that beneficial to human health because it can help digestion, neutralize acidity and prevent disease. Kailan cultivation is closely related to fertilization and cultivation technical factors. One of fertilizers that can provide nutrients for plants kailan is a liquid fertilizer. Agricultural land is increasingly narrow lead farmers, especially those living in urban areas should make efficient use of land in order to achieve maximum production, one of the ways that can be done to address the problem of limited land is cultivated verticulture system. The research aims to determine the effect of paralon positions and provision of various concentrations of complementary liquid fertilizer and to know the paralon position combination with complementary liquid fertilizer concentration appropriate to plant growth kailan (Brassica alboglabra) with verticulture cultivation system. The experiment was conducted at the home screen experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau for 3 months, from August to October 2014. The experiment was conducted by using a split plot design (Split Plot Design). The main plot is a variety of positions paralon (P), which consists of three levels: P1:Position paralon top (height 120 cm), P2: paralon middle position (height 80 cm), P3: Position paralon under (height 40 cm). The subplots are complementary liquid fertilizer concentration (B) consists of 4 levels: B0: Without fertilizer(control), B1: Fertilizers liquid complementary 1 cc/l water, B2: Fertilizers liquid complementary 2cc/l, B3: Fertilizers complementary liquid 3cc /l. The results showed that the combination treatment paralon position as the main plots and complementary liquid fertilizer as subplots provide no real effect on all parameters. Single factor paralon top position (120 cm) as well as complementary liquid fertilizer at a dose of 3 cc / l water can increase plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, fresh weight, weight suitable for consumption and plant dry weight kailan. Abstract

The objective of research was to know the effect of organic fertilizers in efficiency addition of nitrogene, organic fertilizers and nitrogene fertilizers, and for to obtain growth and yield of onion (Allium ascalonicum L.) was good with high efficiency. The research has been conducted in the area of Agricultural Extension Hall, the village of Sungai Geringging, subdistric Kampar Kiri, Regency of Kampar, Riau Province. This research conducted in 4x2 factorial experiment, arranged in a Randomized Block Design (RAK). The first factor is organic fertilizer itc, without organic fertilizer, animal manure 25 ton/ha, the rice straw compost fertilizer 31,25 ton/ha, green manure 10 ton/ha. The second factor the source of nitrogene itc urea 543 kg/ha, ZA 1190 kg/ha. The observed parameters include the total of leaves, plant dry weight, N uptake efficiency, total tuber, convolution tuber, fresh weight tuber, weight shelf of tuber, the effect of organic fertilizer on the efficiency of nitrogene production. The results of research, showed treatment green fertilizer and urea fertilizer produced the highest yield on the observation weight shelf of tuber is 2,60 kg/ plot. Abstract

The purpose of this research to determine combination of green fertilizer Mucuna bracteata in some type of soil media and single-factor as well getting the best dose to the growth of oil palm seedlings. This reseach uses three type of  soil media namely, sub soil Ultisol taken from desa batu belah, kab.kampar, province Riau, sub soil Inceptisol taken from Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau and peat soil taken from Desa Rimbo Panjang, Kab. Kampar, Province Riau  as growing media.Three type of media is utilized as soil media treatment of soil mix for growing oil palm seed is ground Ultisol sub soil mixed with peat soil and sub soil Inceptisolmixed with peat soil. Treatment of the soil media mix with appropriate comparison would be able to increase the growth of oil palm seedlings that can be developed with green fertilizer Mucuna bracteata appropriate and in accordance with the ability of the soil. This research exprimental  units were arranged in Factorial Competely  Randomized Design with three replication. The first factor is composed of green fertilizer mucuna bracteata P0: Green fertilizer mucuna dose 0 g/polybag, P1: Green fertilizer mucuna dose 10,9 g/polybag, P2: Green fertilizer mucuna dose 21,6 g/polybag, P3: Green fertilizer mucuna dose 32,4 g/polybag. The second factor comprises several type of soil medium consisting of T1: Sub soil Ultisol + Peat soil, T2: Sub soil Inceptisol + Peat soil. Parameters studiet were an increase plant height, leaf number increase, the increase in diameter stump, root volume, root canopy ratio, dry weight and visual rupture leaves. The results showed that administration  of mucuna green fertilizer 21.6 g/polybag on the type of media subsoil  Inceptisol +  peat soil gives the best growth to the growth of oil palm seedlings. It is the same with the standards recommended by the research center of Indonesia oil palm seedlings. Keywords :palm oil, Mucuna bracteata, type of soil

Abstract

Indonesian has the widest peat land (15 million ha) among the tropical countries, which is about 3.867.413 ha is in the Riau Province. Peat land can be usefull to make an Industry Plant Forest (IPF). The water management of the peat land is the important key of the IPF progress in the peat land to be success. The aimed of this research was to investigate the effect of the height of water level and the peat land fiber size to the root system and the growth of Acacia (Acacia crassicarpa). This research was conducted for three months at the backyard of Soil Science Laboratory of University of Riau, Pekanbaru. This study used a completely randomized design which consisted of two factors. The first factor  was the peat land fiber size  that has two levels, D1 (size of soft fiber) and D2 (size of hard fiber). The second factor  was the the height of water level with 3 levels, which was 25 cm, 50 cm and 75 cm. This study had six combinations with 3 replicates, so that was obtained 18 unit of experiments. The data was analyzed using ANOVA and tested further by DNMRT at the 5% of significant. The observed parameter is the soil subsidence and the plant such as root weight (g), root length (cm), root volume (ml), plant height (cm), stem weight (g), plant diameter (cm), leaf weight (cm), and plant biomass (g). The result showed that the root system and the plant growth influenced by the height of water surface and the peat land fiber size. Abstract

The objective of this research was to evaluate variability seven genotype chili (Capsicum annuum L.) in peatlands and find genotype that have high             yield. Research arranged in a randomized block design consisting of seven treatments (genotype C-5, C-111, C-120, C-159, C-159 x C-5, C-159 x C-111,   C-159 x C-120) with three replications. Parameters measured were flowering date, harvesting date, plant height, height dichotomous, stem diameter, canopy width, fruit length, fruit diameter, weight per fruit, total weight per plant. The results showed that seven genotipe chili planted variability in peatlands visible between genotype, especially in stem diameter, fruit length, fruit diameter, flowering date, weight per fruit and fruit weight per plant. Genotype C-5 which is a great chili has the highest yield with weight per fruit 13,78 g and total weight per plant 407,02 g. Keywords : Chili, evaluation, genotype, peatland and yield.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the interaction between NPK fertilizer and vermicompost, as getting the best treatment on the growth of palm oil seedling main nursery phase. This research has been conducted in the experimental station of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau in November 2015 to March 2016. The study was conducted by using factorial in completely randomized design (CRD), and two factors and three replications. The first factor is fertilizer NPK with 3 levels (0, 20 and 30 g / plant) and the second factor is vermicompost with 4 levels (0, 20, 40 and 60 g / plant). The parameters measured were the increase of plant height, the increase number of leaves, the increase of stem diameter, root volume, leaf area, plant N absortion and outbreak of the leaf. The results were analyzed statistically using analysis of varian (ANOVA) and followed by Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level. The results showed that the interaction of NPK fertilizer and vermicompost provides no significant influence on the parameters the increase of plant height, the increase number of leaves, the increase of stem diameter leaf area but the interaction of NPK fertilizer and vermicompost provides significant influence on the parameters increase of root volume. Vermicompost application at a dose of 20 g / plant gives the highest N absortion.   Keyword: Vermicompost, NPK fertilizer and palm oil seedling
