Abstract

This village development program aims to increase the knowledge and skills of breeders in optimizing the utilization of the economic potential of goat livestock production in the Anggoeya Village, Poasia District, Kendari City. The implementation of the village development program uses a participatory method through several stages of activity, namely program socialization and FGD, demonstration of forage planting plots for livestock, feed processing, and composting using goat manure. The results of the implementation of the village development program show that goat breeders are very enthusiastic about participating in all stages of the activity and can feel the benefits of this community service program in the form of additional goat husbandry knowledge and technology. Goat farmers now have forage gardens using quality Odot grass seeds as a solution for providing the sustainable feed. In addition, goat breeders can provide goat feed by making silage using agricultural waste such as banana cobs and straw from other plants. Goat farmers can also produce compost using good quality goat manure which is useful for fertilizing forage crops, developed and or sold as a supplement to their income.

Abstract

This service program aims to increase the knowledge and skills of partner breeders regarding feed formulation techniques using local raw materials and superior local chicken breeding techniques using automatic hatching machines as well as seed production systems intensively and semi-intensively raised. The implementation of this service program uses group and individual counseling methods, which include non-physical and physical activities. Non-physical activities take the form of theoretical counseling using lecture and discussion methods. In contrast, physical activities are carried out using demonstration methods and field visits related to feed formulation techniques using local raw materials and superior local chicken rearing techniques using automatic hatching machines and intensive and semi-intensive seed production systems. The results of the implementation of this service program showed that the technical guidance activities for raising superior local chickens, which were carried out in Alebo Village, Konda District, South Konawe Regency, received a positive and enthusiastic response from the local village government and partner breeders. This technical guidance activity for raising superior local chickens that combined non-physical activities in the form of theoretical counseling with lecture and discussion methods with physical activities in the form of demonstrations and field visits can be a solution to problems experienced by partner breeders. Implementation of this service program is effective in increasing the knowledge and skills of partner breeders regarding feed formulation techniques using local raw materials and superior local chicken raising and breeding techniques using automatic hatching machines as well as seed production systems intensively and semi-intensively raised.

Abstract

The Ministry of Agriculture designated South Konawe Regency as a source area for Balinese cattle through Minister of Agriculture Decree (Kepmentan) No. 803/Kpts/PK.030/12/2016 where one of the buffer areas is Palangga District. The main problem for breeders in Palangga District is the limited forage during the dry season. In the dry season, breeders only provide minimal feed without paying attention to the quality, quantity, and efficiency of the provision. The lack of awareness among breeders regarding the provision and utilization of quality HPT in sufficient quantities has caused the majority of breeders to provide forage of low quality to the livestock they keep. The aim of this activity is to help farmers produce optimal production by handling animal feed problems. The results that have been achieved in this Thematic KKN are increasing the knowledge and understanding of farmers raising livestock farmers' awareness of providing and utilizing quality HPT in sufficient quantities and ensuring its continuity throughout the year so that livestock productivity can be maintained and increased.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Indonesia has tropical rainforests that are so vast and have a diversity of plants. The study aimed to identify the diversity of undergrowth in the teak forest area as a source of fodder for Bali cattle in Watopute District, Muna Regency, to be carried out in August–December 2022 with purpose location determination and village surveys using stratified random sampling based on area criteria low, medium, and high. Data collection used the field observation method by exploring and taking samples using a 10x30 m2 transect. The research variables included observations of plant species in the teak forest area and forage plant species in the teak forest area, which were then analyzed using the summed dominance ratio formula. The results of research on plant species in the teak forest area show that there are 17 families with 43 species, and for plant species that can be used as a source of feed for breeders, there are as many as 16 species. From the research, it can be concluded that livestock looking for food in the teak forest area in Watopute District consists of 16 plant species.Keywords: plants, teak forest, bali cattle, watopute

Abstract

The Komala Village community has many goats but there are many problems faced by the community such as dead fetuses, malnutrition, limited health care, environmental conditions, lack of knowledge and training and limited infrastructure. Therefore, the aim of this extension activity is to provide education to the farming community about the correct way to raise goats. This activity was carried out on Friday, March 26, 2023 at 16.00 WITA - Finish, located at the Gazebo of the Komala Village Head's House, South Wangi-Wangi District, Wakatobi. Counseling materials presented to the community: (1) Types of appropriate and balanced feed for goats, (2) Natural feed, supplementary feed, and fermented feed, (3) How to organize feeding according to age, weight, and maintenance objectives, (4) Efficient feeding methods, and (5) Mixing and serving feed techniques. After following the goat farming extension, the community response was as follows: (1) enthusiasm and participation, (2) increased understanding, (3) interest in new practices, (4) awareness of the importance of improving goat rearing practices (5) satisfaction with information, (6) positive perception of benefits, (7) desire for further training, and (8) better collaboration. The conclusion from this community service activity is that the community in Komala Village still has low knowledge regarding how to raise goats. Although they have experience in raising goats, many things can still be improved in farming practices to achieve better results. As for what needs to be improved in community knowledge, such as feed management, care, production management, use of technology, and business management skills.

Abstract

Thematic KKN activities carried out in Abeko Village, Ranomeeto Barat District, South Konawe Regency, focused on technical guidance on making compost for peri-urban communities. This program aims to improve community skills and knowledge in processing organic waste into environmentally friendly and economical compost. This activity is in line with efforts to support government programs in realizing sustainable agriculture and reducing dependence on chemical fertilizers that can damage the soil in the long term. The evaluation results showed that this training was able to improve the understanding and skills of participants, as evidenced by their success in making compost piles that met standards. In addition, participants were also able to identify organic materials available in the surrounding environment, such as plant residues and livestock manure, and understand how to maintain temperature and humidity during the fermentation process.

Abstract

Program Kosabangsa bertujuan untuk meningkatkan ketahanan pangan dan kesehatan masyarakat di Kelurahan Tandebura melalui pemberdayaan dalam manajemen peternakan dan literasi kesehatan. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi adalah rendahnya pengetahuan masyarakat terkait peternakan dan tingginya angka stunting. Metode yang digunakan meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan intensif, penyediaan alat, dan monitoring berkala. Dalam kegiatan ini melibatkan mitra Pemerintah Daerah Kelurahan Tandebura Kecamatan Watubangga, kabupaten Kolaka, Sulawesi Tenggara. Sedangkan kelompok mitra sasaran adalah kelompok Petrenak Harapan Jaya dan Tim PKK Kelurahan Tandebura. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam keterampilan masyarakat dalam pengelolaan ternak dan pembuatan pupuk organik. Masyarakat juga mulai memahami pentingnya pola makan sehat untuk anak-anak. Infrastruktur seperti pojok baca kesehatan dan fasilitas fermentasi pupuk juga telah terbentuk. Program ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model bagi pemberdayaan serupa di wilayah lain.

Abstract

Sapi Bali merupakan sapi khas Indonesia yang berpotensi sebagai penghasil daging. Produksi daging sangat dipengaruhi oleh bobot badan sapi Bali. Masalah paling krusial adalah tidak tersedianya timbangan yang memadai ditingkat pedesaan. Untuk kebutuhan medis, pemberian pakan atau penentuan bobot badan biasanya dilakukan dengan taksiran lingkar dada dan panjang badan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan memberikan sosialisasi bimbingan teknis terkait emanfaatan teknologi timbangan digital untuk mengetahui secara valid bobot badan ternak sapi di desa Wonua Morina Kecamatan Palangga Kabupaten Konawe Selatan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan selama 3 hari mulai dari 11 September 2023. Sebelum dilaksanakan pelatihan, peserta terlebih dahulu diberikan arahan dan penjelasan mengenai kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini. Metode penimbangan berat badan sapi Bali dengan menggunakan timbangan digital, dimana peserta dan tim mempersiapkan kandang jepit selanjutnya tiap sapi dimasukan kedalam kandang jepit dan dilakukan pencatatan. Berdasarkan pelaksanaan bimbingan teknis, materi yang disajikan mendapatkan sambutan yang positif dan cukup memuaskan mengingat selama ini belum pernah dilaksanakan kegiatan serupa. Melalui kegiatan ini diharapkan peternak menyadari pentingnya manfaat penimbangan bobot badan sapi untuk efisiensi pemberian pakan, pengobatan, evaluasi pertumbuhan dan mendapatkan taksiran yang tepat dalam penjualan sapi.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa pengaruh pemberian pakan pada frekuensi pemberian berbeda terhadap penampilan produksi Ayam Kampung Super. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah ayam kampung super strain ULU (Unggas Lestari Unggul) umur 2 minggu sebanyak 64 ekor dan Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode percobaan laboratorium dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yaitu 4 perlakuan dan setiap perlakuan diulangi sebanyak 4 kali. Masing-masing percobaan di isi dengan 4 ekor ayam. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini adalah P1: 1x sehari (07.00 WITA), P2: Pemberian 2 x sehari (07.00 dan 13.00 WITA), P3: Pemberian 3 x sehari (07.00, 11.00 dan 15.00 WITA), P4: Pemberian 4 x sehari (07.00, 10.00, 13.00 dan 16.00 WITA). Variabel yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi pakan, dan di analisis menggunakan Analisis of Variance (ANOVA), apabila perlakuan berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) maka dilakukan uji lanjut dengan uji Tukey. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa konsumsi pakan tertinggi P1 nilai konsumsi sebanyak 54,48 gr/ekor/hari. P2 nilai konsumsi sebanyak 53,53 gr/ekor/hari. P4 nilai konsumsi sebanyak 49,67 gr/ekor/hari, dan P3 nilai konsumsi sebanyak 48,98 gr/ekor/hari. Pertambahan bobot badan tertinggi P3 nilai pertambahan bobot badan 21,75 gr/ekor/hari. P2 nilai pertambahan bobot badan 21,20 gr/ekor/hari. P4 nilai pertambahan bobot badan 21,09 gr/ekor/hari, dan P1 nilai pertambahan bobot badan 20,69 gr/ekor/hari. Konversi pakan tertinggi P1 nilai konversi pakan 2,63. P2 nilai konversi pakan 2,53. P4 nilai konversi pakan 2,36. dan pada P3 nilai konversi pakan 2,32. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa penampilan produksi ayam kampung super pada frekuensi pemberian pakan berbeda menunjukkan bahwa tingkat konsumsi pakan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap tingkat pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi pakan.

Abstract

Sapi Bali merupakan sapi primadona Indonesia karena kemampuan reproduksinya tinggi, mampu menghasilkan kualitas daging dan karkas yang baik, dapat digunakan sebagai tenaga kerja di sawah dan memiliki kemampuan adaptasi lingkungan yang tangguh dan sangat luas. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi struktur dan dinamika popuasi ternak sapi Bali di Kecamatan Towea Kabupaten Muna. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Januari sampai dengan bulan Februari 2024, di Kecamatan Towea Kabupaten Muna. Variabel yang diamati pada penelitian ini yaitu Struktur populasi dan dinamika populasi. Analisi data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis deskriptif data yang diperoleh ditabulasi, dianalisis dan dijelaskan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa struktur populasi sapi bali di Kecamatan Towea Kabupaten Muna terdiri dari sapi Jantan sebesar 25.53% dan sapi Betina 74,47% dan dinamika populasi sapi Bali di Kecamatan Towea Kabupaten Muna pada tahun 2023 sebesar 72 ekor (62,02%) meliputi angka pemasukan ternak yaitu kelahiran sebesar 34.04%. Sedangkan angka pengeluaran yang meliputi pemotongan ternak sebesar 2,66%. While the expenditure rate which includes livestock slaughter amounted to 2.66%.
