Abstract

This study examines the concept of tawakkal in the Qur'an and Hadith and its implications for contemporary sharia business practices. Tawakkal is understood as a combination of maximum effort and submission of results to Allah. Using the library research method, this study analyzes classical interpretations and sharia business literature to develop an integrative theoretical framework. The results show that tawakkal is not only spiritually valuable, but can also strengthen strategy, ethics, and risk management in sharia business. The case studies of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) and 212 Mart show how the value of tawakkal can be internalized in organizational culture and operational decision making. This study recommends that the value of tawakkal be made an important part of entrepreneurship training and sharia business governance.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze property ownership and social responsibility. Through a thematic exegetical approach (tafsir maudhui), this research examines the status of wealth in the Qur'an, the concept of wealth ownership in the Qur'an, and the implementation of property rights as a form of social responsibility. The research findings indicate that 'Mal' (wealth) is mentioned in the Qur'an, with its various derivations, 87 times.  Wealth (al-Mal) itself is defined as anything that possesses legal and concrete (a'in) value, is generally desired by human nature, can be owned, stored, and utilized.  Islam views wealth as something highly important in human life, to the extent that Sharia designates it as one of the five essential matters that must be fulfilled, protected, and considered to realize human well-being in this world and the hereafter; property ownership, based on the Qur'anic concept, manifests as wealth for economic activity, as an indicator of collective welfare, and includes prohibitions against hoarding and consuming wealth unjustly.  A Muslim who possesses wealth is commanded to help others as a form of social responsibility. Islamic teachings command its adherents to disburse a portion of their wealth in the form of zakat, infaq, and sadaqah. This research recommends that everyone distribute a portion of their wealth according to the guidance of the Qur'an. Zakat, infaq, and sadaqah, disbursed as a form of social responsibility, reflect humanity's chosen role in managing the wealth entrusted by Allah SWT.

Abstract

This qualitative study explores students’ perceptions and engagement in the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in English language classrooms at the senior high school level. The research focuses on uncovering how students perceive the use of PjBL, what aspects enhance their motivation and involvement—such as group collaboration, use of technology, and creativity—and what challenges they encounter, including time management, task division, and language comprehension. Five students from SMA Negeri 9 Wajo participated in in-depth interviews to share their experiences, while observations provided additional insight into classroom dynamics. The findings reveal that students generally hold positive perceptions toward PjBL, highlighting increased enthusiasm, improved English skills—especially in speaking, writing, and vocabulary—and a greater sense of ownership over their learning. Collaborative projects and authentic tasks were cited as key motivators, though students also expressed concerns about unequal participation and limited time for project completion. The study emphasizes the importance of student voice in evaluating educational strategies and offers practical suggestions from students to improve future PjBL activities.

Abstract

Mangrove plants have the capacity to protect coastlines and inland areas from natural disasters such as hurricanes, cyclones, and tsunamis. Mangroves are one of the most productive marine ecosystems on earth, providing unique habitat for many species, as well as important goods and services for humans. Mangroves are also a spawning ground and nursery ground for various types of marine biota. The mangrove area in the Aceh Tamiang area is currently in trouble because of the many activities such as changing the function of land as ponds, housing, infrastructure development and making charcoal kitchens, which can change the function of the mangroves. For this reason, it is necessary to carry out research with the aim of mapping the distribution of mangrove ecosystems using multi-temporal satellite imagery, classifying mangroves based on their density classes and finding out the type of mangrove that is dominant in the mangrove density. This research uses the Purposive Random Sampling method as a technique for taking several scientific considerations. This research also uses the NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) method by categorizing 3 classes in density in the Seruway, Bendahara, Banda Mulia and Manyak Payed Subdistricts in five different periods, namely 2002, 2007, 2012, 2017 and 2022. The results obtained the highest NDVI value was in 2002 at 0.98 with an area of 2152.61 ha (16.52%) and the lowest value was in 2007 at -0.23 with an area of 474.15 ha (4.47%). The total type of mangrove found in Aceh Tamiang District is 27 types. Seruway Subdistrict found the most types of mangroves, around 23 types, and in Banda Mulia Subdistrict, the fewest types of mangroves were found, around 12 types. Keywords:Mangrove ecosystemNDVI methodMangrove densityCoastal LULCMangrove type
