Abstract

This qualitative study explores students’ perceptions and engagement in the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in English language classrooms at the senior high school level. The research focuses on uncovering how students perceive the use of PjBL, what aspects enhance their motivation and involvement—such as group collaboration, use of technology, and creativity—and what challenges they encounter, including time management, task division, and language comprehension. Five students from SMA Negeri 9 Wajo participated in in-depth interviews to share their experiences, while observations provided additional insight into classroom dynamics. The findings reveal that students generally hold positive perceptions toward PjBL, highlighting increased enthusiasm, improved English skills—especially in speaking, writing, and vocabulary—and a greater sense of ownership over their learning. Collaborative projects and authentic tasks were cited as key motivators, though students also expressed concerns about unequal participation and limited time for project completion. The study emphasizes the importance of student voice in evaluating educational strategies and offers practical suggestions from students to improve future PjBL activities.

Abstract

Mangrove plants have the capacity to protect coastlines and inland areas from natural disasters such as hurricanes, cyclones, and tsunamis. Mangroves are one of the most productive marine ecosystems on earth, providing unique habitat for many species, as well as important goods and services for humans. Mangroves are also a spawning ground and nursery ground for various types of marine biota. The mangrove area in the Aceh Tamiang area is currently in trouble because of the many activities such as changing the function of land as ponds, housing, infrastructure development and making charcoal kitchens, which can change the function of the mangroves. For this reason, it is necessary to carry out research with the aim of mapping the distribution of mangrove ecosystems using multi-temporal satellite imagery, classifying mangroves based on their density classes and finding out the type of mangrove that is dominant in the mangrove density. This research uses the Purposive Random Sampling method as a technique for taking several scientific considerations. This research also uses the NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) method by categorizing 3 classes in density in the Seruway, Bendahara, Banda Mulia and Manyak Payed Subdistricts in five different periods, namely 2002, 2007, 2012, 2017 and 2022. The results obtained the highest NDVI value was in 2002 at 0.98 with an area of 2152.61 ha (16.52%) and the lowest value was in 2007 at -0.23 with an area of 474.15 ha (4.47%). The total type of mangrove found in Aceh Tamiang District is 27 types. Seruway Subdistrict found the most types of mangroves, around 23 types, and in Banda Mulia Subdistrict, the fewest types of mangroves were found, around 12 types. Keywords:Mangrove ecosystemNDVI methodMangrove densityCoastal LULCMangrove type

Abstract

The authority of the MPR in inaugurating the President and Vice President is the only thing that is routinely done every 5 years since the amendment of the 1945 Constitution, which in its implementation tends to be merely ceremonial. Some of the MPR's constitutional powers do not yet have legal regulations, one of which is the authority to appoint the President and Vice President. So far, the appointment of the President and Vice President has only been carried out by reading the Decision from the KPU by the MPR RI leadership, leading many parties to question the legality of the MPR in appointing the President and Vice President. This research aims to analyze the plenary session process of the inauguration of the President and Vice President, regarding the authority of the MPR in inaugurating the President and Vice President as regulated in Article 3 Paragraph (2) of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. Then, this research aims to analyze the legal strength of the inauguration minutes of the President and Vice President as the legal basis for their appointment. The normative legal research method involves primary and secondary legal sources and a legislative approach that focuses on the analysis and examination of legal regulations. The researcher uses primary and secondary data collection techniques in the form of laws and legal books, expert opinions, and legal journals. This research provides input to the MPR to issue a decree in the form of a decision (beschikking) regarding the determination of the winning pairs of presidential and vice-presidential candidates in the election as the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia for the next five-year term, so that the President and Vice President have a stronger legal basis in the form of an MPR decree.

Abstract

Abstract

This research analyzes Al-Muwaththa’, a monumental work by Imam Malik bin Anas, as one of the pivotal books in shaping Islamic law and the dissemination of the Maliki school of jurisprudence in the Islamic world. As a compilation of hadith compiled with a rigorous methodology, Al-Muwaththa’ not only serves as a source of law but also offers a contextual perspective by using the practices of the people of Medina (amal ahl al-Madinah) as one of the legal bases. The main problem discussed in this research is how Al-Muwaththa’ has influenced the development of Islamic law and the relevance of its methodology for Muslim communities in various regions, especially in the context of local cultural adaptation. Through a qualitative approach with a literature review, this research examines Imam Malik's methodology in selecting hadith, integrating ra'y (legal opinion) with traditional sources, and structuring the book based on legal categories. The results of the analysis show that Al-Muwaththa’ has successfully become the basis for the formation of the Maliki school of jurisprudence, which is widely spread in regions such as North Africa and Andalusia. Imam Malik's approach, which combines the chain of transmission of hadith and local practices, provides flexibility in the continuous application of Islamic law. In addition to being recognized as a valid legal reference by great scholars such as Imam Shafi'i, Al-Muwaththa’ also serves as a model for the development of other Islamic law books. The prospect is that the contextual methodology introduced by Imam Malik in Al-Muwaththa’ can continue to be studied as inspiration for adapting Islamic law to modern cultural and social contexts without leaving the essence of religious teachings.
