Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan secara parsial dan dengan kepuasan kerja sebagai variabel moderasi pada PT PLN (Persero) Unit Induk Pembangkitan Sumatera Utara Desain penelitian asosiatif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian ini sebanyak 155 orang, teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan rumus slovin sebanyak 112 responden dengan probability sampling yaitu random sampling Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah regresi linier sederhana dan MRA. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa variabel penerapan keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap variabel kinerja karyawan, Kepuasan kerja tidak terbukti signifikan dalam memoderasi variabel penerapan keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja terhadap variabel kinerja karyawan.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of organizational culture on work motivation. To determine the partial influence of organizational culture and work motivation on employee performance. To determine the influence of organizational culture on employee performance through work motivation at the Medan City Investment and One Stop Integrated Services Service. The population in this study was 133 people and all of them were used as research samples. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The analysis technique used is path analysis. The research results show that organization culture has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, organization culture has a positive and significant effect on work motivation, organization culture has a positive and significant effect on employee performance through work motivation..

Abstract

Introduction and Objective: The COVID-19 pandemic has virtually made many work activities, resulting in increased use of Visual Display Terminals (VDT) at work and home. Excessive close-range activities due to the use of VDT causes Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS). Various therapies, such as ocular yoga and warm compress, have been created to reduce CVS-related complaints. Diponegoro University developed “Senam PERMATA-KU” as an alternative therapy to reduce complaints related to CVS. This study compares the effect of “Senam PERMATA-KU” and periocular warm compress on the amplitude of accommodation (AA) value in patients with CVS. Methods: The study subjects were divided into “Senam PERMATA-KU” group (22 people) and periocular warm compress group (20 people) with each treatment for two weeks. CVS score was measured using CVS-Questionnaire and AA using Prince’s rule. Both variables were assessed before and after treatment. Data were collected and analyzed using a statistical computer program. Result: “Senam PERMATA-KU” group experienced a significant increase in monocular and binocular AA (p<0.001 and p=0.006), while periocular warm compress did not show a significant difference (p=0.982 and p=0.483). The mean delta of monocular and binocular AA between groups differed significantly (p=0.001 and p=0.034). The mean CVS scores in both groups have significant improvement (p<0.001), while the mean delta CVS scores between groups was not significant (p=0.522). Conclusion: “Senam PERMATA-KU” for two weeks significantly increased monocular and binocular AA, while periocular warm compress showed no significant difference. “Senam PERMATA-KU” and periocular warm compress can significantly reduce CVS score, whereas the difference between the two is insignificant.

Abstract

News in the form of editorial texts or headlines in the Sindo Newspaper on semantic meaning relations. This study aims to describe the variety of word-meaning relationships in the editorial text of the April 2023 edition of the Sindo Newspaper. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with text analysis research. The data of this study are words and phrases in sentences in the headline that show the relationship of meaning. The words and phrases in question are the words and phrases contained in the news content. The data source for this research is the headline in the April 2023 edition of the online-based Sindo Newspaper. The data collection technique in this study uses documentation and literature study techniques. Based on data analysis, various word-meaning relationships were obtained in the form of synonyms, antonyms, hyponyms, hyponyms, economies, metonyms, polysemia, collocation, and redaction.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of organizational culture on innovative behavior through organizational commitment as an intervening variable in the North Sumatra Province Transportation Service. Path analysis is used in research design to determine the direction of the variables studied and show how significant the influence of the independent variable is on the dependent, either directly or indirectly through mediating variables. This research uses quantitative methods. In this study the entire population was the sample consisting of 138 employees at the North Sumatra Province Transportation Service. To collect data, this was done through questionnaires distributed to respondents. The data obtained was then processed using SPSS version 25 tools. The results of this research show that organizational culture has a positive and insignificant effect on innovative behavior, organizational culture has an indirect effect on innovative behavior which can be mediated by organizational commitment. Abstract

Laporan keuangan berfungsi sebagai alat untuk menganalisis kinerja keuangan yang dapat memberikan informasi tentang posisi keuangan, kinerja dan arus kas, sehingga dapat dijadikan sebagai dasar membuat keputusan-keputusan ekonomi. Usaha mikro yang berada di Kecamatan Air Hitam Kabupaten Lampung Barat merupakan usaha yang tumbuh secara tradisional dan merupakan usaha keluarga yang turun temurun. Keterbatasan kualitas SDM usaha kecil baik dari segi pendidikan formal maupun pengetahuan dan keterampilannya sangat berpengaruh terhadap manajemen pengelolaan usahanya, sehingga usaha tersebut sulit untuk berkembang dengan optimal. Unit usaha relatif sulit untuk mengadopsi perkembangan teknologi baru untuk meningkatkan daya saing produk, sehingga dengan mengembangkan produk ekonomi kreatif menjadi solusi agar dapat meningkatkan potensi keuntungan yang dapat dihasilkan dari SDA disekitar. Manfaat yang diharapkan dari pengabdian ini yaitu dapat membantu usaha mikro dalam melaksanakan pembukuan dan membantu pengusaha menyusun laporan keuangan secara lengkap dan baik dengan format yang sederhana, yang dapat digunakan untuk memantau perkembangan progress keuangan dan membuat keputusan dalam mengembangkan usaha, serta untuk meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat untuk pengembangan potensi produk ekonomi kreatif kopi menjadi Aromatheraphy dan Body Scrub, sehingga dapat meningkatkan pendapatan warga Pekon Sumber Alam Kecamatan Air Hitam Lampung Barat. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan selama 5 bulan (JuniNovember 2020) di Pekon Sumber Alam Air Hitam Lampugn Barat. Metode yang dilakukan adalah sosialisasi dan pelatihan workshop produksi aromatherapy dan bodyscrub yang diberikan kepada ibu-ibu kelompok tani Pekon Sumber Alam. Evaluasi dilakukan disetiap kegiatan. Luaran yang ingin dicapai antara lain peningkatan produksi dan jurnal ilmiah pengabdian.

Abstract

Poem translation is challenging. It must bridge not only equivalence and cultural aspects, but also the acceptability of the poem. The translated product needs to be evaluated to determine whether the translation is acceptable. This study aims to investigate the Translation Quality Assessment (TQA) of an Indonesian poem titled Sajak Orang Gila by Sapardi Djoko Damono and its translation Ballad of a Crazy Man by John H. McGlynn. While translating poetry, some errors are inevitable. However, by applying TQA, such mistakes can be identified and addressed for future improvement. This study employed a qualitative-descriptive method and used Juliane House’s (1997) theory of TQA. The results showed that the translator applied domestication and literal translation in his work. The translator attempted to maintain close alignment between the source text (ST) and target text (TT). The errors identified were overt errors, which include several categories: untranslated segments, slight changes in meaning, significant changes in meaning, breach of the SL system, creative translation, and cultural filtering. However, distortion of meaning was not found in this research. This indicates that the translator successfully translated the poem.

Abstract

Biodegradable films made from natural materials such as cellulose and carrageenan are easily degradable but exhibit poor mechanical properties. Incorporating carbon nanodots (CDs) from cocoa husk waste has the potential to improve their mechanical properties. This study aimed to characterize CDs synthesized from cocoa husk waste and evaluate their mechanical properties of cellulose-carrageenan-based biodegradable films. The research stages include the isolation of cocoa husk cellulose, CDs synthesis, CDs characterization, biodegradable film preparation, and characterization of the mechanical properties of biodegradable films. The experimental design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with the treatment factor of CDs addition at six levels (0%, 1%, 3%, 5%, 7%, 9%) with three replicates. The results showed that the average size of cocoa husk CDs was 997 nm, and the absorbance peak was detected at 298 nm, validating that the CDs had been successfully synthesized with blue light emission. Incorporating CDs significantly affected the mechanical properties of the biodegradable film. Biodegradable cellulose-carrageenan-based films with the addition of CDs from cocoa husks had a thickness of 0.35–0.64 mm, tensile strength of 2.94–4.20 MPa, elongation of 36.51–63.28%, and elasticity of 6.00–9.45 MPa. The tensile strength and elongation values meet the JIS Z 1707 standard. Higher concentrations of CDs significantly improved tensile strength and elasticity, while reducing the thickness and elongation.

Abstract

In Indonesia, each region has its own distinct culture, such as traditional dress, traditional lineage system, food and dance. This makes culture an identity. Culture is an important element in the development process or sustainability of a nation. In developed societies, cultural change usually occurs through discovery in the form of new creations (innovation) and through the process of diffusion. This research is a qualitative study with a literature study. The research was analyzed using the conceptual framework of cultural diplomacy. As a state apparatus that has a mission and goal to realize and improve effective and productive cultural diplomacy, the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) initiated the establishment of an Indonesian cultural center called RBI (Rumah Budaya Indonesia). RBI is a place to promote Indonesian culture to other countries to improve the image, appreciation and build friendship through culture with the international community towards Indonesia. RBI is made as a representation of Indonesia, a place to get to know the culture that Indonesia has abroad. RBI has been present in 10 countries, namely Timor Leste, the United States, Australia, the Netherlands, Japan, Germany, South Korea, France, Malaysia, and Turkey. Then in 2017 the RBI program was born in Malaysia.

Abstract

Kampung Mulya Sari, Kecamatan Negeri Agung, Kabupaten Way Kanan, merupakan sentra budidaya jeruk dengan kepemilikan 300–500 pohon per kepala keluarga (KK). Setiap panen, petani mengalami kerugian sekitar 50% akibat sifat buah yang mudah rusak dan keterbatasan keterampilan pengolahan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan warga dalam mengolah buah dan limbah kulit jeruk menjadi produk bernilai tambah seperti sirup, permen jelly, dan pengawet alami, sekaligus memperkenalkan aspek gizi dan kesehatan produk tersebut. Metode yang digunakan meliputi ceramah, diskusi interaktif, dan demonstrasi/praktik langsung, dengan evaluasi awal dan akhir menggunakan kuesioner. Sebanyak minimal 20 warga mengikuti pelatihan. Hasil evaluasi awal menunjukkan sebagian besar peserta memiliki pengetahuan terbatas terkait manfaat gizi, pemanfaatan kulit jeruk, dan teknik pengolahan. Setelah pelatihan, terjadi peningkatan rata-rata pengetahuan sebesar 56,25%. Aspek afektif menunjukkan 100% peserta menganggap pelatihan bermanfaat dan 95% berminat mempraktikkannya. Kegiatan ini efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap positif, tetapi implementasi jangka panjang memerlukan pendampingan lanjutan, penyediaan sarana produksi, pelatihan kemasan dan pemasaran, agar potensi jeruk di Kampung Mulya Sari dapat dioptimalkan dan mengurangi kehilangan hasil panen hingga 50 ton per musim.
