Abstract

This article explains the development of interactive multimedia which is designed using e-learning. The development technique uses ADDIE model which consists of some stages namely Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The trial subjects in this study were 13 students of Physics Education Department in Universitas Papua who programed basic physics courses in the even semester of 2018-2019. Interactive multimedia validity was obtained based on an assessment sheet filled by 7 validators consisting of material expert validators, media experts and practitioners. Meanwhile, the effectivity and practicality of interactive multimedia was obtained based on the students’ responses after learning. The instrument used in this study was the validation sheet filled out by the validators and questionnaire about students’ responses after learning. The technique used to analyze the results of the validator's assessment was V Aiken while the questionnaire analysis used Rasch model. The results showed that the developed learning media were in the valid category for each aspect of the assessment, namely layout, navigation, functions, and pedagogy aspects. Moreover, students’ responses towards interactive multimedia used were also effective and practical in every aspect of assessment. Students gave good responses towards HOTS abilities that could be developed during learning, including the ability to analyze, evaluate, and create. Therefore, online interactive multimedia oriented to HOTS through e-learning can be applied in physics lesson.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengembangkan instrumen penilaian berupa tes pilihan ganda critical thinking dan practical skill yang valid dan reliabel (2) memetakan critical thinking dan practical skill peserta didik SMP. Prosedur pengembangan dalam penelitian ini mengacu pada langkah-langkah model prosedural dari Model 4D Thiagarajan. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut. (1) Instrumen penilaian IPA berupa tes pilihan ganda terdiri atas 36 item yang fit. Instrumen penilaian IPA berupa tes pilihan ganda telah memenuhi validitas isi dengan expert jugdement yang dibuktikan dengan perolehan indeks kesepakatan (indeks Aiken) yang berada pada rentang angka 0,8 hingga 1,00. Kegiatan uji coba (uji empiris) dilakukan pada 121 peserta didik. Reliabilitas instrumen penilaian IPA mengalami peningkatan dari 0,95 menjadi 0,97. (2) Secara umum, terdapat 92 dari 220 didik atau 41,82% yang memiliki kemampuan critical thinking dan pratical skill di atas rata-rata. Pada kemampuan critical thinking sebagian besar berada pada kategori rendah dan sangat rendah mencapai 49,55% sedangkan pada kemampuan pratical skillsebagian besar berada pada kategori sedang 43,64%.Kata Kunci: tes, critical thinking dan practical skill Developing Science Assessment Instrument to Map Critical Thinking and Practical Skill of Junior High School Students AbstractThe study aims to (1) to developing a valid and reliable assessment instrument in the form of multiple choice test of critical thinking and practical skill and (2) to mapping critical thinking and practical skill of Junior High School Students. This study was research and development (R D) that refers to Thiagarajan 4D Model. The result of this study are (1) assessment instrument in the form of multiple choice test consist of 36 fit items. The assessment instrument in the form of multiple choice test is already comply with content validity that be proven with Aiken’s index from 0.8 to 1.00. 121 students is be responden in small-scale tryout. Item reliability increases from 0.95 to 0.97. (2) Mapping result image shows that there are 92 out of 220 students (41.82%) who have critical thinking and practical skill in over average. Almost the Pilot Project Junior High School students have critical thinking ability in low and very low category that is 49.55% whereas they have practical skill ability in average category that is 43.64%.Keywords: test, critical thinking and practical skill

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in friendly character in elementary school students after learning to use the Panjol game.The research method used is the experimental research method. The type of experimental research used is the one group pretest-posttest design. The researcher gave a pretest before the treatment and gave a posttest after the treatment using the Panjol game. The treatment was given for three meetings in order to get the maximum result of increasing friendly character. The population in the study were students at SD 1 Muhammadiyah Kudus. Determination of the sample using purposive sampling technique with the criteria of grade IV students so that the sample in the study was 24 children in grade IV SD 1 Muhammadiyah. Data collection techniques in this study are observation, non-test, and interviews. The instruments used in this study were observation sheets and questionnaire sheets. The data obtained were then analyzed using the N-Gain test.The results showed an increase in the friendly character of children after treatment using the Panjol game. The increase in child-friendly character can be seen from the average pretest score of 39 and an increase in the average posttest score of 68. Meanwhile, the N-Gain value is 0.47 in the medium category.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian bertujuan memberdayakan keterampilan argumentasi untuk mendorong pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi terapung dan tenggelam. Penelitian difokuskan pada 1) identifikasi keterampilan argumentasi yang dapat diberdayakan dan 2) identifikasi pemahaman konsep siswa setelah diberdayakan keterampilan argumentasi. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa SMA kelas XI di kota Bandar Lampung. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling untuk 2 kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa fokus memberdayakan keterampilan argumentasi (elemen claim) tanpa memberdayakan elemen keterampilan argumentasi lainnya, hal ini berdampak pada lemahnya pemahaman konsep materi terapung dan tenggelam siswa. Idealnya pemberdayaan keterampilan argumentasi secara utuh berdampak pada perluasan pemahaman konsep siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menjadi rujukan untuk melakukan penelitian selanjutnya guna memperoleh perubahan positif memberdayakan keterampilan argumentasi yang secara langsung meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa menjadi lebih baik.Kata kunci: Pemahaman konsep, keterampilan argumentasi

Abstract

The approach of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in Indonesia is a new thing in education. The actors in the world of education still continue to adapt to all changes and updates happened all the time. Yet, sometimes the changes are not supported by the improvement in teachers’ knowledge, skill, and readiness. This phenomenological research aims to analyze the elementary teachers' perspective in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) framework implementation in Indonesia. The research is phenomenological research focused on the elementary school teachers’ perspective on STEM implementation.  There are 35 teachers of public and private elementary schools with more than a year of service period in Yogyakarta, Indonesia was involved in this research. Data collection was conducted by the interview. The data collecting technique was analyzed with Bogdan and Biklen's analysis models. The analysis results were used to seek the information related to the following aspects: Teachers’ knowledge of STEM, benefits of STEM, steps of STEM implementation, assessment of STEM implementation, and teacher readiness to implement STEM. The results showed that the teachers’ knowledge in the STEM framework was still low and they were not ready to implement STEM for various reasons. This research is expected to be a reference for elementary schools and local government in socializing STEM and to support the STEM implementation in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve the experimental report writing skills through the discovery learning method of the fifth graders of  Muhammadiyah Sapen Elementary School Yogyakarta. This study was classroom action research. The subjects were 26 students of the fifth grade. The techniques for collecting data were observation, task, and documentation. The instruments of the data collection were observation sheets and writing performance. The result of this study showed that the process approach with the discovery learning method could improve the experimental report writing skills of the fifth-grade students of Muhammadiyah Sapen Elementary School Yogyakarta. It could be seen from the result of students’ observation sheet and writing performance. The observation result indicated the increase of the process and result of experimental report writing skills with the average score of 74.88 in Cycle I to 89.38 in Cycle II. The percentage of the Minimum Criteria for Mastery Learning in Cycle I was 60% and increased to 96% in Cycle II, with 24 the students achieved the mastery level and one failed. This showed that the students’ classical mastery was achieved.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keefektifan pembelajaran melalui penggunaan media benda konkret pada siswa kelas V SD Timuran Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tidakan kelas (PTK), yang terdiri atas dua siklus, yang setiap siklus mengikuti tahapan-tahapan Model Kemmis dan Taggart yang meliputi: observasi perencanaan, tindakan, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V SD Timuran Yogyakarta yang terdiri atas 11 siswa laki-laki dan 14 siswa perempuan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik observasi, tes, dan angket. Kriteria keberhasilan penelitian diukur dari (1) nilai rata-rata kelas minimal 75, (2) minimal 75% siswa telah mencapai KKM yang ditetapkan yaitu 75, dan (3) minimal 75% siswa memberikan respon terhadap pembelajaran dalam kategori baik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media benda konkret dapat meningkatkan keefektifan pembelajaran. Hal itu terbukti dari tercapainya semua kriteria keberhasilan yang ditetapkan dalam penelitian, di antaranya: (1) hasil tes menunjukkan peningkatkan nilai rata-rata kelas (2) persentase siswa yang mencapai nilai KKM yang ditetapkan sekolah meningkat, dan (3) respons siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan media benda konkret dalam kategori baik.Kata Kunci: keefektifan, pembelajaran matematika, media benda konkret. IMPROVING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF TEACHING MATHEMATICS THROUGH THE CONCRETE MEDIUM TO FITH GRADE STUDENT OF SD TIMURAN AbstractThe aims of this research are to improve the instruction effectiveness through the use of concrete media to the fith grade students of SD Timuran. This research is a classroom action research study consisting of two cycles, each of which follows the stages in Kemmis and Taggart model including: planning, action and observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research were 11 male student and 14 female students of SD Timuran Yogyakarta. The data were collected through observation, test, and questionnaires. The criteria of success were (1) the minimal average class score was 75, (2) a minimum of 75% students exceeded the minimum achievement criterion, and (3) a minimum of 75 % student gave a good response to the teaching. The results show that the use of the concrete media can improve the instruction  effectiveness. It proves that the criteria  of this research can be achieved, including: (1) the average of the test results increases, (2) the percentage of the students who exceed the minimum achievement criterion increases, and (3) the students’ responses to mathematics teaching using concrete media are in a good category.Keywords: effectivenes, mathematics teaching, concrete media

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perbandingan kualitas Buku Sekolah Elektronik (BSE) dengan non-BSE mata pelajaran sains untuk sekolah dasar. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah empat buah BSE sains SD, dan empat buah buku sains SD non-BSE. Instrumen dikembangkan dengan merujuk pada Science Textbook Rating System yang dibuat oleh Collette Chiapetta, dan grafik keterbacaan Fry. Analisis data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan fasilitas program SPSS 17.0 for Windows, untuk menguji apakah terdapat perbedaan kualitas antara buku sains BSE dan non-BSE untuk sekolah dasar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hasil uji-t sebesar 0,564 dengan t-tabel sebesar 2,00 pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Berdasarkan nilai tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa hipotesis awal dapat diterima. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan kualitas antara buku sains BSE dan non-BSE untuk sekolah dasar. Kata Kunci: kualitas, BSE, non-BSE, buku teks   AN ANALYSIS OF THE QUALITY OF BSE AND NON-BSE SCIENCE TEXTBOOKS FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS WITH SCIENCE TEXTBOOKS ASSESSMENT SYSTEM Abstract This study aims to describe the comparison of the quality of Buku Sekolah Elektronik (BSE) with non-BSE science textbooks for elementary schools. The subjects of this study were four BSE science textbooks for elementary schools, and and four non-BSE science textbooks for elementary schools. The instruments used in this study consisted of a questionnaire compiled by the researcher with reference to the Science Textbook Rating System made by Collette Chiapettas, and Fry’s readability graph. The data were analysed using SPSS 17.0 for Windows, to know if there is any difference of quality between BSE and non-BSE science textbooks for elementary schools. The Technique of independent samples t-test shows the value of the T-test is 0.564 with t-table being 2.00 and the significance level of 5%. Based on that value, it can be concluded that the hypothesis is accepted. Therefore this study concludes that there is no difference in quality between the BSE and non-BSE science textbooks for elementary schools. Keywords: quality, BSE, non-BSE, textbooks

Abstract

The learning process in class must be managed so that students can grow the character in students. The character of students can grow and develop through learning based on local wisdom that has life values. These values are inherent with the values of character in the life of the nation and state. But to design a learning that can develop character requires an integrated study between pedagogy and learning content. The results of this study are outlined in the Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK). This study aims to produce PCK based on local wisdom that can develop the national character of elementary school students. To get a decent PCK, the research was carried out using the Research and Development (R&D) approach. The results revealed that, PCK based on local wisdom of the Dayak Desa tribe, was able to improve the behaviour of national character into unity, mutual cooperation, and honesty, each by 0.77; 0.77; and 0.86. Thus, it can be concluded that PCK based on local wisdom can develop the national character of elementary school students.

Abstract

Perkembangan zaman menuntut semua pihak memiliki sikap kreatif. Pendidikan merupakan salah satu aspek yang harus peka terhadap perubahan zaman.Pendidikan dasar (Sekolah Dasar) memiliki peranan yang sangat penting dalam mengembangkan sikap kreatif siswa sejak dini. Salah satu alternatif cara yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengembangkan sikap kreatif adalah dengan mengimplementasikan ajaran Tri N (niteni, niroake, nambahake) dalam proses pembelajaran. Tri N merupakan salah satu ajaran Tamansiswa yang digunakan oleh Ki Hadjar Dewantara dalam proses pembelajaran. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan implementasi ajaran Ki Hadjar Dewantara yang berupa Tri N dalam meningkatkan kreativitas siswa melalui pembelajaran IPA di SD. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan subjek sebanyak 70 siswa dan tiga guru. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik observasi, rubrik pengamatan sikap kreatif, wawancara dan dokumentasi.Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis Milles and Huberman yang terdiri dari reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan (verifikasi).Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa dengan mengimplementasikan ajaran Tri N menjadikan siswa memiliki kreativitas tinggi sehingga mampu menghasilkan karya-karya yang inovatif yang menjadikan bekal bagi siswa untuk mampu menyesuaikan diri dengan perkembangan zaman yang ada
