Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) karakteristik model penilaian autentik berbasis proyek, (2) kelayakan model penilaian autentik berbasis proyek, dan (3) pencapaian kompetensi fisika peserta didik SMK menggunakan model penilaian autentik berbasis proyek. Prosedur pengembangan menggunakan model 4D dengan uji coba model pada 8 peserta didik kelas XI Teknik Instalasi Tenaga Listrik dan diujicobakan secara luas pada 21 peserta didik kelas XI Teknik Kendaraan Ringan SMK. Draft model divalidasi ahli dengan V Aiken= 0,829 (tinggi), validitas empiris mean INFIT MNSQ= 0,99 (fit), dan reliabilitas Alpha Cronbach= 0,607 (tinggi) sehingga diperoleh karakteristik model penilaian berbasis proyek meliputi penilaian kinerja dan sikap dilaksanakan saat pembuatan proyek; penilaian presentasi, produk proyek, dan pengetahuan di akhir kegiatan proyek. Berdasarkan hasil validitas dan reliabilitas, model penilaian autentik berbasis proyek dikatakan layak dan dapat digunakan untuk mencapai kompetensi fisika SMK materi medan magnetik secara signifikan dengan rerata 3,2 (baik). How is the project-based authentic assessment model developed to achieve the participants' physics competence in vocational high school students? Abstract: This research aims to know: (1) the characteristic of a project-based authentic assessment model, (2) the appropriateness of a project-based authentic assessment model, and (3) the achievement of physical competencies of vocational students using a project-based authentic assessment model. This research used the procedures of 4D models with 8 students of class XI Electrical Installation Engineering for testing the model and widely tested for 21 students of class XI Light Vehicle Engineering. The model draft was validated by experts with Aiken’s V= 0,829 (high), empirical validity means of INFIT MNSQ= 0,99(fit), and Alpha Cronbach reliability= 0,607(high) so could obtain characteristic of a project-based authentic assessment model consisted of performance and attitudes assessment which doing when making project; presentation, project products, and knowledge assessment at the end of the project activity. Based on validity and reliability, a project-based authentic assessment model was appropriated and could be used to achieve physics competence in vocational high school at magnetic field subject significantly with mean 3,2 (good).

Abstract

The critical and creative thinking skills of Indonesian students are relatively low from countries in the Malay family such as Malaysia and Singapore. This research aims to improve students’ critical and creative thinking skills through the use of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics (STEAM) based blended learning. This research is a quasi-experimental study using a nonequivalent pretest-posttest control-group design. The sample consists of 180 junior high school students in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The samples in this study are 90 experimental class students and 90 control class students selected by random sampling cluster techniques because the selected samples come from individual groups or clusters. The instrument in this study consists of six questions in the form of essay questions. Test questions are analyzed using the gain score test and Kruskal-Wallis with SPSS 22. The results show steam-based blended learning can improve critical and creative thinking skills on all indicators with medium to high categories. The improvement of students’ critical and creative thinking skills in experimental classes is higher than that of the control class. In addition, there are differences in learning outcomes between control classes and experimental classes. STEAM-based blended learning can be an alternative for teachers to solve the problem of low critical and creative thinking skills.

Abstract

Water is a basic need of society. Unfortunately, the availability of clean water is very limited due to the large amount of waste in the waters in various regions in Indonesia. Thus, innovation is needed to purify wastewater. This research utilizes corn oil to reduce the pollution of dye waste, which is a problem for the environment. Corn oil is easy to find so it is suitable to be used to purify water waste. The photocatalyst technique using carbon nanodots of sun-assisted corn oil is an economical and easy-to-obtain method. Carbon nanodots from corn oil are made using the Hydrothermal method at a temperature of 2500oC heated for 3 hours. Carbon nanodots from corn oil are used as a photocatalyst in artificial methylene blue waste solutions. The photocatalyst test process is carried out by varying the amount of carbon dots. The result was observed until the artificial wastewater from methylene blue turned clear by varying a lot of carbon from 2 ml, 4 ml, 6 ml, 8 ml, and 10 ml. When the carbon nanodot content is 8 ml, the fastest time needed to clear methylene blue wastewater is 55 minutes. The fewer or more solutions given, the more time to clear up. These results indicate that carbon nanodots from corn oil can be used for photocatalyst purification of methylene blue wastewater.

Abstract

Science is a lesson that discusses various natural phenomena scientifically and systematically in life. Along with the times, science has undergone many transformations in improving the quality of learning, one of which is local culture-based science learning. The rapid flow of globalization of foreign cultures that enter Indonesia, making the youth generation begin to forget local culture as a noble identity. This study aims to see the effect of local culture-based science learning on the profile of cultural awareness of junior high school students. The research method used is quantitative research by giving post-test to two different classes that have implemented the learning. The two classes consisted of 31 people in the modeling class and 29 people in the implementation class. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling. The results obtained were then analyzed and discussed descriptively quantitatively. The results show that the application of Kuantan Singingi Pacu Jalur culture-based learning can affect the achievement of students' cultural concern profile by obtaining an average score of high categories in the modeling class and very high in the implementation class. Although the average results are in two different categories, when tested through non-Parametric statistics the two results do not have a significant difference

Abstract

Currently science learning has several problems including the lack of contextual material discussed, thus making science learning considered less interesting, monotonous, and difficult. This study aims to analyze the need for science learning contents used in schools to solve those problem. The research method used is a qualitative type of survey research. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews with science teachers, student questionnaires, scientific literacy tests, and observations. The number of samples was 3 teachers and 47 students through cluster random sampling. The instruments used in this study included interview guidelines, questionnaires, learning observation sheets, and scientific literacy tests. Data analysis in this study used descriptive qualitative. Based on this needs analysis, the results obtained recommend the development of integrated science textbooks containing cultural content on the Pacu Jalur Kuantan Singingi, to be able to increase scientific literacy and cultural concern of students

Abstract

The practical guide is a teaching material that students use in labwork activities. This learning cycle 5E (Engangement, Exploration, Explanation, Elaboration, Evaluation) on practical guide is expected to be used as an alternative choice for teacher in improving students’ cognitive learning outcomes in concept of pressure and symptoms of capillarity in plants. The aim of this study was : 1) to describe the feasibility of develop practical guide based on learning cycle 5E and 2) to analyse the improvement of the practical guide based on learning cycle 5E to enhance cognitive learning outcomes of eight graders of junior high school in science lesson. Here, we used the Research and Development refers to the procedural steps of the 4D models by Thiagarajan. To test the efficacy, pretest and posttest were employed.This is a quasi-experiment research conducted in MTsN 3 Ngawi. Research subjects were all students of grade 8 by taking class 8A as the experimental class and 8B as the control class. Samples were taken by cluster sampling technique. The result of the feasibility test showed that practical guide included in the excellent category. T-test analysis suggests that the practical guide based on learning cycle 5E could improve students’ cognitive learning outcomes significantly. In addition to contributing to the improvement of students’ cognitive learning outcomes in MTsn 3 ngawi, the development of science cycle-based learning guide based on learning cycle 5e can also provide students practice skills in learning so that it is expected to contribute posotif in the community.

Abstract

According to the results of PISA 2018 and researcher’s observations, scientific literacy skills and students' cognitive learning outcomes are still lacking. This study aims to determine the effects of science experiments on scientific literacy and student cognitive learning outcomes. This research design used a non-equivalent control group with a quasiexperimental type. The research sample was consisted of 3 fifth grade elementary schools located at Cakranegara region. The data were collected through tests and questionnaires filled out by students. Data were analyzed using independent sample t-test and MANOVA. The analysis showed the following results: first, the scientific literacy ability of students who took part in learning using the experimental method has significant more influential than students who took part in learning using the lecture method (tcount = 8.926; p <0.05). Furthermore, both cognitive learning outcomes of students who took part in learning using the experimental method were significantly more influential than students who took part in learning using the lecture method (tcount = 4.435; p <0.05). Third, the scientific literacy ability and cognitive learning outcomes of students who participated in learning using the experimental method were significantly more influential than students who participated in the lecture learning method (F = 42,375; p < 0.05). From these results, it could be concluded that the experimental method can be applied by teachers as one of the learning methods that has a positive influence on the progress of scientific literacy skills and students' cognitive learning outcomes in science learning

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perbandingan kualitas antara BSE dan non-BSE Fisika SMA Kelas X berdasarkan kriteria yang diambil dari Science Textbook Rating System (STRS) khususnya aspek pemahaman konsep dan prinsip, aspek bantuan pembelajaran di setiap akhir bab serta aspek kegiatan laboratorium dan petunjuk laboratorium. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian content analysis yang bersifat kuantitatif dan diungkap secara komparatif yaitu dengan melakukan judgement terhadap BSE dan non-BSE Mata Pelajaran Fisika SMA Kelas X berdasarkan instrumen pada STRS karya Collette, T Alfred Chiappetta L. Collette. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keempat buku yang diteliti memiliki perbedaan kualitas yang tidak signifikan. Hal tersebut terlihat dari hasil uji chi kuadrat hitung untuk setiap aspek lebih kecil dari hasil uji chi kuadrat pada tabel () yang tidak signifikan.Kata kunci: perbandingan, BSE, non-BSEAbstractThis study aims to describe the quality comparison between ESB and non-ESB of Physics in X grade of Senior High School based on the taken criteria from Science Textbook Rating System (STRS) especially the aspect of conceptual and principal understanding, the aspect of learning aid in each of chapter, and the aspect of laboratory activity and guidance. This study is a content analysis research which is quantitative and expressed comparatively that is by doing judgment toward ESB and non-ESB of Physics in X grade of Senior High School based on the instrument on STRS by Collette, T Alfred Chiappetta L, Collette. According to the result of data analysis, the study result shows that the four books which are analyzed have insignificant different in quality. Abstract

bstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menghasilkan instrumen penilaian otentik yang layak digunakan untuk mengukur keterampilan proses sains dan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik, (2) mengetahui seberapa besar ketercapaian keterampilan proses sains dan berpikir kritis peserta didik ditinjau dari hasil belajar aspek kognitif. Desain Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan modifikasi model Wilson dan Oriondo dan Antonio. Analisis validitas isi instrumen menggunakan CVR/CVI, validitas empiris dan data politomus hasil uji coba dianalisis menggunakan model Rasch dengan bantuan program Winsteps 3.37. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) telah dihasilkan instrumen penilaian otentik yang layak untuk mengukur keterampilan proses sains dan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Validitas isi instrumen oleh ahli dan praktisi termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Validitas empiris berdasarkan tiga kriteria yaitu OUTFIT MNSQ, ZSTD, Pt Mean Corr untuk 8 butir instrumen keterampilan proses sains dan 5 butir instrumen keterampilan berpikir kritis, 1 butir instrumen keterampilan proses sains tidak memenuhi kriteria. Reliabilitas instrumen berdasarkan index sparation item sangat bagus dengan nilai 0,90, (2) ketercapaian keterampilan proses sains peserta didik sebagian besar berada pada kategori sangat tinggi 31,25% dan rendah 21,88%. Ketercapaian peserta didik untuk keterampilan berpikir kritis sebagian besar berada pada kategori tinggi 28,12%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa instrumen penilaian otentik yang dikembangkan dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu instrumen alternatif untuk mengukur keterampilan proses sains dan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Kata kunci: penilaian otentik, keterampilan proses sains, keterampilan berpikir kritis, dan hasil belajar. Abstract The research aims to 1) generate feasible authentic assessment instrument to measure learners’ science process and critical thinking skills, 2) know how far the learners’ science process and critical thinking skills achievement in terms of cognitive aspect. The used research design was the modification of Wilson and Oriondo and Antonio model. Instrument validity was analyzed by using CVR/CVI, empirical validity and the polytomy data was analyzed using Winsteps 3.37. Results of the research indicate that (1) a feasible authentic assessment instrument to measure learners' science process and critical thinking skills is already generated. The authentic assessment instrument in terms of content validity is categorized as very, meanwhile for the empirical validation is based on the three criteria that are OUTFIT MNSQ, ZSTD, Pt Mean Corr for 8 points of science process skill and 5 points of critical thinking skill instrument, yet 1 point of instrument of science process skill does not meet the criteria. The instrument reliability of science process and critical thinking based on index sparation item is very good with 0.90, and (2) the learner’s achievement of the science process skill is mostly on the categorize of very high with 31.25% and low with 21.88%. The learner’s achievement regarding the critical thinking skill is mostly on the categorize of 28.12%. Based on the result, authentic assesment instrument that has been developed can be use as one of the alternative assesment instrument to measure learners’ science process and critical thinking skills. Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan kualitas antara BSE dan non-BSE Fisika SMA kelas X ditinjau dari aspek kriteria isi, ilustrasi serta indeks dan glosarium berdasarkan instrumen yang merujuk pada Science Textbook Rating System (STRS). Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif yang bersifat komparatif dengan subjek empat buku teks. Subjek buku dalam penelitian ini adalah satu BSE fisika dan tiga buku fisika non-BSE dari penerbit yang berbeda dengan kode subjek NB 1, NB 2, dan NB 3. Penelitian ini menganalisis buku pada aspek kriteria isi, ilustrasi, serta indeks dan glosarium. Data yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah tingkat kualitas buku dari kriteria isi, ilustrasi, serta indeks dan glosarium. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa antara BSE dan buku non-BSE fisika ditinjau dari kriteria isi, ilustrasi, serta indeks dan glosarium memiliki kualitas yang tidak berbeda secara signifikan, namun setiap subjek memiliki karakteristik khusus. Secara umum, buku non-BSE lebih unggul daripada BSE, yaitu buku non-BSE fisika memuat materi yang lebih lengkap dan mendalam, ilustrasi non-BSE memiliki paduan warna yang tepat daripada BSE, serta indeks dan glosarium non-BSE lebih lengkap daripada BSE.Kata kunci: perbandingan, BSE, non-BSE, isi, ilustrasi, indeks dan glosarium, Science Textbook Rating System.ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the comparison of quality between the ESB and non-ESB in the Physics subject viewed from the content, illustration, index, and glossary based on the instruments which refer to Science Textbook Rating System (STRS). The method used is a descriptive quantitative research that is comparative to four textbooks as the subjects. In this study, subjects are one Physics ESB book and three non Physics ESB books from different publishers with the subject code NB 1, NB 2, and NB 3. This study analyzes the books from its content, illustration, index, and glossary. Data obtained from the study are the level quality of the books based on the content, illustration, index, and glossary. The result of this study showed that there is no significant different quality between ESB books and non-ESB books in terms of the content, illustration, index, and glossary. However, each subject surely has special characteristics. In general, non-ESB books are better than ESB books, non-ESB Physics books cover more complete and profound materials than ESB books do, illustration in non-ESB books has also right colour combination, index and glossary of non-ESB books are more complete as well than BSE.
