Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of variable X, namely the TGT cooperative learning model assisted by a snakes and ladders game, on variable Y, namely the mathematics learning outcomes of second-grade students at SD Negeri 104276 Pulau Tagor in the 2024/2025 academic year. The background of this study is the low learning outcomes of students in multiplication material due to the dominance of the lecture method and the lack of use of interesting learning media. The method used is the experimental method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. There were 28 students as research subjects. The instrument used was a learning outcome test to determine the changes before and after the treatment. The pretest results showed that the average student score was 59.57 with a mastery level of only 39.28% or 11 out of 28 students. After implementing the TGT learning model assisted by snakes and ladders, the posttest results increased significantly with an average score of 81.25 and a mastery level of 89.29% or 25 out of 28 students. Thus, there was an increase in learning mastery of 50.01%. Based on the results of the research calculations, it shows that there is an effect of the Team Games Tournament Cooperative Learning Model Assisted by a Snake and Ladder Board Game on the mathematics learning outcomes of Grade II students at SD Negeri 104276 Pulau Tagor in the 2024/ 2025, where rhitung ≥ rtabel, namely 0.927 ≥ 0.373, there is a high effect, and thitung ≥ ttabel, where thitung 6.518 ≥ ttabel 2.064 at a significance level of α = 0.05. Thus, Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect between the use of the TGT cooperative learning model assisted by snakes and ladders (variable X) on improving students' mathematics learning outcomes (variable Y).

Abstract

This paper discusses the effect of applying the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model on student learning outcomes on the theme The Area Where I Live in Grade IV at SD Assisi Medan during the 2022/2023 academic year. The study employs a quantitative research approach. The research population consists of 180 fourth-grade students at SD Assisi Medan, while the sampling technique used is simple random sampling, resulting in a sample of 44 fourth-grade students. The findings indicate that students’ learning outcomes through the application of the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model fall into the very good category, with an average score of 83.48. The correlation test yields a value of 0.958, indicating that rcount (0.958) ≥ rtable (0.297), thus confirming that Ha is accepted. This demonstrates a significant effect of the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model on students’ learning outcomes. Furthermore, the t-test results show that tcount = 21.720 ≥ ttable = 2.015, which further supports the acceptance of Ha. These results indicate a significant positive effect of the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model on students’ learning outcomes on the theme The Area Where I Live in Grade IV at SD Assisi Medan during the 2022/2023 academic year.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of the PAKEM (Active, Creative, Effective, and Joyful Learning) instructional model on students’ learning outcomes in the thematic unit “The Area Where I Live” among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 097795 Perasmian during the 2022/2023 academic year. Employing a quantitative research design, the study involved a population of 132 students drawn from grades I to VI. A purposive sampling technique was applied to select 30 students from grade IV as the research sample. Data analysis reveals that students taught using the PAKEM learning model achieved learning outcomes categorized as very good, with a mean score of 85.13. The correlation analysis indicates a strong positive relationship between the use of the PAKEM model and student learning outcomes, as evidenced by an obtained correlation coefficient of 0.841, which exceeds the critical value (rₜₐᵦₗₑ = 0.361). This result confirms the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis. Furthermore, the t-test analysis demonstrates a statistically significant effect, with a calculated t-value of 8.215 surpassing the critical t-value of 2.048. These findings provide empirical evidence that the PAKEM learning model exerts a significant and positive influence on students’ learning outcomes. Consequently, the study underscores the effectiveness of student-centered and active learning approaches in enhancing thematic learning achievement at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This paper examines the improvement of students’ learning outcomes by using the scientific learning model assisted by audio-visual media and determines the process of implementing the scientific learning model assisted by audio-visual media in class IV at SD Negeri 116906 in the academic year 2022/2023. The research method used in this research is classroom action research. The research subjects consisted of 26 students. Based on the analysis and discussion of the research, the learning outcomes in individual student pre-tests were five students who completed the classical test, which indicates 17% with an average score of 46.5. In cycle I, 13 students individually completed the results with a classical score of 43% and an average score of 60.76. In cycle II, 25 students individually completed the results with a classical score of 83% and an average score of 79.8. It shows that in cycle I to cycle II there was an increase. Based on the result of learning implementation using the scientific learning model assisted by audio-visual media, teacher activity observation in cycle I was 62% in the sufficient category and in cycle II it increased to 88% in the very high-quality category. Meanwhile, the results of student activity observation in cycle I indicated 66% in the sufficient category and in cycle II it increased to 86% in the good category. Thus, the scientific learning model assisted by audio-visual media can improve students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of basic literacy activities on the reading interest of fifth-grade students at UPT SD Negeri 068008 Medan Tuntungan during the 2022/2023 academic year. A quantitative research design was employed to measure the relationship between literacy activities and students’ reading interest. The research population consisted of all 29 students in grade V, and a saturated sampling technique was applied, involving the entire VA class. Prior to the implementation of the literacy activities, students achieved an average reading interest score of 82.2, which falls within the moderate category. Data analysis indicated that the dataset was normally distributed, as shown by the normality test value of 0.936. Furthermore, the correlation analysis revealed a coefficient of 0.720, exceeding the critical value (rcount = 0.720 ≥ rtable = 0.367), leading to the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis. This result demonstrates a strong positive relationship between basic literacy activities and students’ reading interest. The significance of this relationship was further confirmed through a t-test analysis, where the calculated value (tcount = 5.391) exceeded the critical value (ttable = 1.703). These findings indicate that basic literacy activities have a statistically significant and positive effect on the reading interest of fifth-grade students at UPT SD Negeri 068008 Medan Tuntungan. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of structured basic literacy activities plays an important role in fostering students’ reading interest at the elementary school level.
