Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the ratio of the composition of the mixture of rice husk and coffee grounds with PP plastic on quantity (volume of pyrolysis oil and distillation results) and quality (yield, density, viscosity, visual and color), as well as to determine the ratio of biomass variation with plastic that produces the most oil and the best quality. This study was conducted by mixing rice husk and coffee grounds biomass with PP plastic in the form of RDF-3 with a variation in composition of 0% : 100%, 25% : 75%, 50% : 50%, 75% : 25%, and 100% : 0%. The pyrolysis results are in the form of oil which is then distilled to separate the compounds contained in it and produce clean oil, then the volume of pyrolysis oil and distillation results is measured, yield testing, density, viscosity, visual and color are tested. The test results showed that there was an effect of a mixture of rice husk and coffee grounds biomass with PP plastic on quantity (volume of pyrolysis oil and distillation results) and quality (yield, density, viscosity, visual and color). The volume of pyrolysis oil and distillation products was the highest ratio of 100% PP with pyrolysis oil of 616.67 ml and distilled oil of 178 ml. The results of the best yield test were obtained with a ratio of 100% PP of 82.39%. The best density test obtained a 100% PP ratio of 846.6 kg/m3, the results of this density lead to the specification of diesel fuel. The viscosity value of the best pyrolysis oil is obtained with a ratio of 100 % PP of 0.65499 cP which leads to the specification of gasoline type fuel. The best visual and color testing of pyrolysis oil was obtained with a ratio of 100% PP with a clear and bright visual appearance with a clear yellow color, which is in accordance with the specifications of diesel and gasoline fuel. It was concluded that the best configuration was obtained with a ratio of 100% PP which led to the specification of diesel fuel.

Abstract

Kebutuhan bahan bakar yang meningkat seiring meningkatnya jumlah penduduk serta kemajuan industri, sementara cadangan bahan bakar fosil terus berkurang. Masyarakat juga dihadapkan oleh permasalahan meningkatnya jumlah sampah, baik dalam bentuk organik maupun anorganik. Dalam hal ini limbah kayu mahoni dan limbah plastik polypropylene yang masih jarang dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat dapat menjadi solusi untuk dijadikan bahan bakar alternatif diolah dengan proses pirolisis. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi rasio komposisi limbah gergaji kayu mahoni dan limbah plastik polypropylene terhadap kuantitas minyak hasil pirolisis.  Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara melakukan proses pirolisis terhadap campuran biomassa limbah gergaji kayu mahoni dan limbah plastik polypropylene dengan rasio komposisi 100%:0%, 75%:25%, 50%:50%, 25%:75%, dan 0%:100% selama 90 menit selanjutnya dilakukan pengujian minyak pirolisis meliputi uji kuantitasnya. Terdapat adanya pengaruh variasi rasio komposisi campuran biomassa serbuk gergaji kayu mahoni dan limbah plastik polypropylene terhadap kuantitas minyak hasil pirolisis. Kuantitas terbanyak dihasilkan oleh campuran 100% limbah plastik polypropylene karena kuantitas minyak hasil pirolisis dipengaruhi oleh jenis bahan baku, jumlah bahan baku, dan temperatur pemanasan yang dicapai saat proses pirolisis.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi di era informasi membawa dampak signifikan terhadap berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk tata kelola desa. Salah satu inovasi yang muncul adalah konsep smart village, yang bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan teknologi dalam meningkatkan kualitas hidup dan layanan di pedesaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemahaman masyarakat Desa Karanganyar terkait keamanan digital dalam penerapan smart village. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dengan partisipan dari berbagai elemen masyarakat. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumen terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun masyarakat mulai menyadari pentingnya keamanan digital, pemahaman mereka masih terbatas, terutama di kalangan penduduk lanjut usia. Tim sosialisasi KKN Universitas Sebelas Maret berperan penting dalam meningkatkan literasi digital melalui berbagai metode, termasuk forum diskusi kelompok dan penyebaran materi edukasi. Penelitian ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya edukasi dan pelibatan masyarakat dalam pengembangan desa pintar, khususnya dalam menghadapi tantangan keamanan digital di era modern.

Abstract

Critical thinking and creative thinking are the main components and important components related to 21st-century skills. Technology is currently very advanced in learning media, so learning is becoming easier and less boring for students. This is supported by global demands that force the education sector to align technical progress with efforts to improve educational standards. One of the sciences and technologies that can be utilized is interactive learning media based on Google Sites. This research was conducted to see the increase in students' ability to think critically and creatively after using Google Sites as a learning media. The research was conducted at the Accounting Department Vocational School in Madiun Regency and Madiun City, East Java. Data collection was carried out by observing critical and creative thinking skills in class, as well as filling out a questionnaire about Google site-based learning media. The research results show that using Google Sites as a learning media for students can improve students' critical and creative thinking abilities. Students' assessments of Google Sites learning media meet the criteria of being very eligible in all aspects. Google Sites can help teachers provide learning resources for students that will help them understand their lessons and activities better.

Abstract

Energi telah menjadi kebutuhan mendasar manusia, terutama energi listrik. Umumnya, energi listrik bergantung pada bahan bakar fosil. Menipisnya persediaan energi fosil, mendorong pemanfaatan energi terbarukan seperti air sebagai sumber energi alternatif. Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Air (PLTA) menghasilkan energi listrik dari aliran air melalui turbin, salah satunya turbin air vortex. Turbin ini termasuk jenis turbin mikrohidro yang mampu beroperasi pada head rendah. Komponen utama penghasil listrik pada turbin yaitu generator, dengan parameter berupa tegangan dan arus listrik. Penelitian ini memodifikasi diameter kawat stator pada generator untuk meningkatkan daya keluaran. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui pengaruh diameter kawat stator terhadap daya dan efisiensi sistem pada turbin air vortex. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen skala laboratorium dengan generator magnet permanen hasil konversi dinamo mesin cuci top loading. Variasi diameter kawat yang digunakan adalah 0,25 mm, 0,35 mm, dan 0,45 mm, serta variasi debit air 1,5 l/d, 2 l/d, 2,75 l/d, 3,17 l/d, dan 3,33 l/d. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan diameter kawat dan debit air berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan daya dan efisiensi sistem. Nilai tertinggi dicapai pada diameter kawat 0,45 mm dengan daya 1,115 Watt dan efisiensi 12,64% pada debit air 3,33 l/d.

Abstract

As fossil fuel resources decline, vortex water turbines offer a promising renewable energy alternative by utilizing river flow. This experimental research aims to analyze the effect of blade distance from the outlet and transmission ratio on the electrical power and efficiency produced by vortex water turbines as a renewable energy solution. Three variations of blade distance from the outlet (20 mm, 40 mm, and 60 mm) and three variations of transmission ratio (1:3, 1:4, and 1:5) were tested under seven water flow rate variations of 27.8 l/min, 33.68 l/min, 34.11 l/min, 34.54 l/min, 34.97 l/min, 35.4 l/min, and 35.83 l/min. Data were collected for 5 minutes, with a 10-second interval for each parameter. Test results show that the highest electrical power of 4.88 watts was achieved at a blade distance of 20 mm from the outlet, a transmission ratio of 1:5, and a water flow rate of 35.83 l/min. Meanwhile, the highest turbine efficiency of 11.25% was obtained at a blade distance of 20 mm from the outlet, a transmission ratio of 1:3, and a water flow rate of 35.83 l/min. Increasing blade–outlet distance reduced both power and efficiency, while higher transmission ratios increased power but decreased efficiency due to torque–speed trade-offs. These results confirm that the distance between the blade and the outlet, and the transmission ratio, are critical parameters for optimizing performance of vortex turbines. A blade distance closer to the outlet provides the best performance and a larger transmission ratio will also improve performance, although transmission loading must also be considered.

Abstract

The increasing number of motorcycles in Indonesia, exceeding 125 million units in 2022, reflects the high demand for efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles. This trend drives the advancement of combustion system technology, notably the shift from carburetors to Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI). EFI is an electronically controlled fuel delivery system designed to optimize combustion through precise control of ignition timing and fuel injection duration. This system has proven effective in improving engine efficiency and reducing exhaust emissions. However, most mass-produced motorcycles are still equipped with non-programmable ECUs, limiting tuning flexibility. This study evaluates the use of an Arduino-based programmable ECU as a more adaptive alternative. Experiments were conducted on a Honda Vario 110cc FI, varying ignition timing (+2°, +4°, +6°, +8°, +10° BTDC) and fuel injection duration (+5%, +10%, +15%) using Pertamax RON 92 fuel. The results showed an 8% increase in maximum torque (16.98 N.m) at +4° and +5% configuration, and a 3% increase in maximum power at +2° and +10%. The lowest HC and CO emissions were recorded at +2° and +5%, with reductions of 44% and 41%, respectively. The Arduino-based ECU effectively enhances engine performance while maintaining emission efficiency.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of nozzle temperature variations on the tensile strength and surface hardness of 3D-printed specimens using polypropylene (PP) filament derived from instant noodle packaging waste. The filament was produced through an extrusion process at 200°C and subsequently printed into test specimens using Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) with nozzle temperatures of 190°C, 200°C, and 210°C. Tensile testing was conducted in accordance with ASTM D638 Type IV, while hardness testing was performed using the Shore D method. The results show that nozzle temperature significantly affects the mechanical and physical properties of the specimens. The optimum performance was obtained at 200°C, yielding a tensile strength of 16.83 MPa and a hardness of 47.80 Shore D. At 190°C, both tensile strength and hardness decreased, while at 210°C hardness increased but tensile strength declined due to potential thermal degradation. Therefore, 200°C is identified as the optimum temperature, providing the best balance between mechanical performance and structural stability

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis Augmented Reality dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatif siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan research and development model ADIIE yang dikembangkan oleh Branch. Penelitian dilakukan pada siswa kelas XI TKR SMKN 1 Mejayan tahun ajaran 2024/2025 dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 32 orang dan guru produktif teknik otomotif. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan One Group Pretset-posttest design dengan jumlah pertemuan empat kali tatap muka. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan lembar validasi ahli, angket respon praktisi pendidikan dan siswa serta tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan validasi ahli materi 91,2% dan ahli media 90,3% dengan kategori sangat layak. Respon praktisi pendidikan dan siswa menunjukkan kategori sangat baik dengan nilai rata-rata 89,2% dan 85%. Nilai N-gain menunjukkan kategori tinggi dengan perolehan nilai sebesar 0,77. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis Augmented Reality efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatif siswa

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the effect of the composition ratio of oil from coconut fiber waste biomass and rice husks as well as polypropylene (PP) plastic which is not optimally utilized and can be used as an alternative fuel processed through the pyrolysis process. This research was conducted by mixing biomass of coconut fiber and rice husk with PP plastic in the form of refuse-derived fuel (RDF)-3 with compositional variations of 100:0%, 75:25%, 50:50%, 75:25%, and 0:100% for 60 minutes. The pyrolysis product in the form of oil was then distilled to separate the compounds contained in it and produce pure oil. Next, quantity (volume of pyrolysis oil and distilled oil) and quality (yield, density, viscosity, visual, and color) tests were carried out. The results of the study showed that there is an influence of the variation in the composition ratio of the mixture of biomass of coconut fiber and rice husk and PP plastic on its quantity and quality. The highest quantity was obtained from the 100% PP ratio and the best quality was obtained from the 100% PP ratio, which leads to the specifications of solar fuel oil.
