Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki pengaruh sudut masuk dan rasio transmisi puli terhadap daya keluaran dan efisiensi porositas udara turbin. Selain itu, penelitian ini berupaya mengidentifikasi kombinasi sudut masuk dan rasio transmisi puli yang menghasilkan daya dan efisiensi tertinggi menggunakan metode eksperimen. Pada bagian turbin yang digunakan cekungan berbentuk kerucut dengan diameter atas 400 mm, diameter bawah 65 mm, dan tinggi 320 mm. Variabel bebasnya adalah sudut masuk (5°, 8°, dan 10°) dan rasio transmisi puli (1:3, 1:4, dan 1:5). Laju aliran air yang digunakan adalah 35,8 l/menit (maksimum) dan 27,8 l/menit (minimum). Variabel yang ada adalah daya keluaran dan efisiensi turbin pendingin udara. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rasio transmisi puli 1:5 menghasilkan daya listrik tertinggi, sedangkan rasio 1:3 menghasilkan efisiensi tertinggi. Efek dari memvariasikan sudut saluran masuk dan rasio transmisi puli menunjukkan bahwa daya dan efisiensi berfluktuasi selama pengujian. Output daya maksimum yang tercatat adalah 4,86 ​​watt, sedangkan minimumnya adalah 0,28 watt. Efisiensi tertinggi yang dicapai adalah 11,10%, dengan yang terendah adalah 2,35%. Output daya terbesar dihasilkan oleh konfigurasi dengan sudut saluran masuk 10° dan rasio transmisi puli 1:5 pada laju aliran udara 35,8 l/menit (4,86 watt). Efisiensi tertinggi dicapai dengan sudut saluran masuk 10° dan rasio transmisi puli 1:3 pada laju aliran udara yang sama (11,10%). Temuan menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan sudut saluran masuk menghasilkan daya listrik dan efisiensi yang lebih tinggi. Penggunaan rasio transmisi puli yang lebih besar meningkatkan output daya, sementara rasio yang lebih kecil meningkatkan efisiensi, karena rasio transmisi terkecil beroperasi secara optimal dalam kondisi beban yang lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan yang lainnya.

Abstract

The Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program FKIP Universitas Sebelas Maret, there is one of the new courses in the 2021 curriculum (independent curriculum, independent campus learning), namely New and Renewable Energy. The learning tools in the course are not yet fully available. Learning tools continue to progress with the times, and e-modules are one of them.  In this research developed a new and renewable energy learning e-module with a focus on utilizing solar energy using solar panels. Solar panels used are static solar panels and solar panels with a single axis solar tracker. The purpose of this study is to develop learning e-modules and find out the feasibility to be used in New and Renewable Energy courses. This study uses the Research and Development research method, with a 4-D model research model (Four D model), namely Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate. The Define stage results that the New and Renewable Energy course requires supporting learning tools, in the form of e-modules, e-module users are students of Mechanical Engineering Education class of 2021, with theoretical and practical learning concepts. The Design stage selects the format, drafts, and makes the initial draft. The Development stage tested the design results to two material expert lecturers, and the validation test of two media expert lecturers, then tested to 11 students. In the Disseminate stage, the e-module is submitted to the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta. For the results of this development research, in the expert test this e-module material obtained a score of 90.52% with a very decent category, in the media expert test a score of 88.88% was obtained with a very decent category. The results of the trial to students obtained a score of 84% with a very decent category.

Abstract

Wind turbines are typically classified as Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines (HAWT) or Vertical Axis Wind Turbines (VAWT). VAWT has a superior ability to accelerate from rest to rotation than HAWT, allowing it to rotate the rotor even when the wind speed is low; additionally, the produced torque is relatively high. Using the Savonius helix VAWT is one of the numerous methods for enhancing VAWT performance. The effect of the number of blades and the blade twist of the rotor or the angle of rotation of the blades on the rotor from the bottom end to the top end on the speed cut generated by the VAWT Savonius helix was investigated experimentally. Variations in the number of blades used in the study included 2 and 3 blades, as well as 90°, 180°, 270°, and 360° for the rotor twist blades. In a wind tunnel, data was collected at wind speeds ranging from 0 to 5 m/s. The best performance research results were obtained With three blades, a twist angle of 180 degrees, and a cutting speed of 1.51 m/s. By modifying the Savonius Helix VAWT design in this study, it is possible to increase the efficiency and performance of turbines, mainly when used at low wind speeds, and the potential for using wind energy as a more efficient and sustainable alternative energy source.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran warga Desa Taji, Klaten, mengenai pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga melalui pendekatan 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). Kegiatan dilaksanakan oleh tim PMM UNS dengan melibatkan berbagai pihak lokal melalui sosialisasi, diskusi, serta kuis interaktif. Narasumber utama menekankan urgensi penerapan prinsip 3R karena keterbatasan kapasitas TPA Troketon dan lamanya waktu penguraian sampah plastik. Kegiatan ini mampu mendorong partisipasi aktif warga yang antusias mempelajari pemilahan sampah, pengomposan, serta pemanfaatan kembali barang layak pakai. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa aksi kecil dari rumah tangga dapat memberi dampak besar ketika dilakukan secara kolektif. Program ini juga menjadi kontribusi nyata mahasiswa UNS dalam mendukung pencapaian Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), khususnya SDG 11 tentang permukiman berkelanjutan dan SDG 12 tentang konsumsi dan produksi yang bertanggung jawab.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatif siswa SMK Akuntansi di Madiun setelah menggunakan Google Sites sebagai media pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan bagian dari penelitian pengembangan dengan model ADDIE. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Google Sites efektif dalam meningkatkan kedua kemampuan tersebut, serta dinilai sangat layak oleh siswa. Sehingga materi pembelajaran menggunakan google sites dapat membantu guru menyediakan sumber belajar bagi peserta didik yang akan membantu dalam memahami pelajaran dan aktivitas mereka dengan lebih baik

Abstract

E-learning menjadi salah satu hal yang digagas mampu menjadi solusi dari permasalahan pembelajaran. Massive Open Online Course atau MOOC merupakan metode pembelajaran jarak jauh skala besar yang memungkinkan semua orang bisa mengakses. Penggunaan MOOC menjadi salah satu wujud dari perkembangan teknologi di dunia pendidikan. Perkembangan teknologi yang merambat di dunia pendidikan dapat mempengaruhi persepsi serta pengalaman peserta didik dalam pembelajaran. Permasalahan yang timbul pada SMK Bhinneka Karya Surakarta terkait dengan pembelajaran CNC adalah sebagai berikut: 1) Pada mata pelajaran teknik pemesinan CNC membutuhkan gambar ilustrasi untuk memudahkan memahami materi pelajaran. Sehingga banyak siswa yang mesih mengalami kebingungan dalam mengikuti pembelajaran. 2) Dibutuhkan platform belajar hybrid dengan memanfaatkan smart phone, untuk mendukung optimalisasi hasil belajar, khususnya mata pelajaran teknik pemesinan CNC. Hasil dari identifikasi masalah tersebut ditindak lanjuti oleh tim Pengabadi ECCEE dengan merancang desain program peningkatan kompetensi paedagogi. Peningkatan terhadap guru-guru ini dilakukan melalui tahapan-tahapn sebagai berikut:  Tahap 1: Pengenalan dan pelatihan penggunaan MOOC Rumah Vokasi kepada Guru, Tahap 2: Pelaksanaan pembelajaran menggunakan MOOC Rumah Vokasi, dan Tahap 3: Evaluasi penggunaan MOOC Rumah Vokasi. Hasil pengujian implementasi aplikasi MOOC Rumah Vokasi terhadap hasil pembelajaran menunjukkan peningkatan yang positif.  Pengalaman siswa terkait implementasi aplikasi MOOC Rumah Vokasi telah menjawab bahwa aplikasi MOOC Rumah Vokasi sangat mendukung pembelajaran di SMK dan juga mampu meningkatkan semangat anak untuk belajar. Kata kunci: e-Learning, Mosive Open Oline Corse, Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK)

Abstract

This community service program aims to create awareness of the plastic pollution challenge by empowering the local communities around Sekolah Alam Solo Raya (SELASAR). The program is part of a problem-based learning approach implemented to support community-based education in SELASAR. SELASAR’s students are expected to educate the communities in sorting the general waste and separating out items that can be recycled. The educational kit of a simple recycling machine will be developed in UNS and then installed in Sekolah Alam Solo Raya for educational purposes. The communities will take an educational tour through plastic recycling, from sorting to final production. The objective of the educational tour is to raise awareness of waste reduction and provide practical tips on how to create a more sustainable environment. It is also expected that students could create well-designed products that have more commercial value.

Abstract

Wooden tenons are crucial components in joinery used in furniture manufacturing. Unfortunately, their production still heavily relies on manual methods, leading to inefficiencies. This research focuses on developing and evaluating an integrated wooden tenon machine to enhance efficiency and productivity in furniture manufacturing. Through quantitative experimental methods, the study compares the speed and capacity of wooden tenon production between manual methods and the integrated machine. Techno-economic analysis is also conducted to assess production feasibility. Experiments take place at UD. Sunarso Mebel using Suren (Toona Sureni) wood with five different size specifications: 3 cm thick, 40 cm long, and varying widths of 6 cm, 9 cm, 12 cm, 14 cm, and 25 cm. Results indicate that the integrated machine boosts wooden tenon production speed by up to 10 times and capacity by up to 9 times compared to manual methods. Additionally, the quality of dowels produced by the machine is superior due to smoother and more precise surfaces. With low production and operational costs, the machine is economically recommended for profit enhancement. The investment in the integrated wooden tenon machine can be recouped within just one month.

Abstract

Banana stems are organic waste that contains elements that are beneficial to plants. The management of banana stems can be used as liquid organic fertilizer as an effort to reduce the presence of waste and can be used as fertilizer for plants. On this basis, KKN UNS held a training activity on making POC from banana stem which was attended by 50 members of Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) in Tawang Village. Training on making POC from banana stem aims to utilize unused waste and provide insight and experience for participants in making POC. Training consists of providing material and direct practice in making POC. The results of the manufacturing practice are used for fertilizer for plants in the garden owned by KWT Tawang Village.

Abstract

Speed and accuracy of workmanship are important supporting factors for business actors operating in the service sector. The availability of adequate supporting equipment can increase work productivity and can reduce the risk of work accidents that can endanger the surrounding environment. Technological developments in the automotive industry always provide innovations. Even though it is like that, it still doesn't escape the new problems that accompany it. In the process of replacing a car clutch lining, the application of knowledge about lifting aircraft is very necessary. Differences in the load capacity of car engines that exceed human strength capacity require the use of tools according to specifications. The addition of a hydraulic system to the machine support can provide lifting power that is greater than the power produced by mechanics in lifting or holding loads that exceed their capacity. Apart from that, implementing a culture of occupational health and safety is important to realize workforce welfare. What is not expected when repairing a car's clutch lining is a shift in the load support of the car's engine which can cause damage to other components and can even endanger mechanical safety. The property of magnets that can attract metal objects can be used to improve K3 in the automotive industry as an effort to prevent engine supports from shifting position when repairs are carried out on car clutch linings.
