This study aims to determine the validity and reliability of Arabic language test items for grade II students of an elementary school without a pesantren (Islamic Boarding School) background in Bekasi City. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used in this research were non-test instruments in the form of observation and test instruments in the form of 10 multiple-choice Arabic language questions, adapted to teaching materials at the existing learning level. Data analysis techniques include reducing, presenting, and drawing conclusions from existing data. Based on the data found, the level of validity of the Arabic language test questions from question numbers 1 to 10 provided 60% is in the valid category and 40% is not. While the level of reliability based on Cronbach's Alpha testing technique is at 0.82 which indicates very reliable. It is hoped that the findings of this research have positive implications for teacher knowledge.

Characteristic of mahfuzhat is using of high register and contain cultural content and norms. That is bring own problems into student from memorizing procces, understanding a meaning and practicing. The goals of this study aims to describe and to provide a solution problematic that it has related with mahfuzhat learning. This research uses a case study approach, by observing field phenomena. As for the research subjects, namely students of the 1st semester of the Arabic Language Education Department. The data were collected using observation, interviews, and documentation, then the data analysis used was data display, data reduction and triangulation. The research findings show that the problem of competency aspects is due to aspects of vocabulary, rules and differences in several elements and characteristics between Arabic and Indonesian, the lack of time for practice, non-linguistic problems due to internal and external factors of the learners. The solutions include increasing the components and implementing learning as well as strengthening the motivation and self-confidence of learner.

The aim of this research is to determine the characteristics of the pronunciation of makhorijul letters for people with sensorineural hearing loss or SNHL. A person with SNHL has hearing problems and this affects their phonological speech. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with the data source being an adult man with the initials NH who is 30 years old. The data collection technique used is the listening and speaking technique. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion verification. The results of this study show that people with sensorineural hearing loss experience many errors in pronunciation of hijaiah letters, especially in makhroj al-lisan for letters of the same nature. These errors are based on the makhorijul letters which are divided into al-jauf (mouth cavity), al-halaq (throat), al-lisan (tongue), ash-syafatain (two lips), and al-khaisyum (bridge of the nose). In Arabic vocabulary phonemes, 3 phonological errors were found, namely addition, subtraction and replacement of phonemes. Sensorineural hearing loss in this study was caused by frequent blows to the head and taking certain medications, resulting in sound waves that were captured not being heard perfectly and experiencing errors in the phonological aspect. The accuracy of pronouncing Hijazi letters is crucial for reading the Qur'an effectively. Incorrect pronunciation not only disrupts the flow of reading but can also change the meaning of words and verses, thus deviating from the intended message. This study aims to identify and analyze the mispronunciation of the [q] phoneme by non-Arabic speakers using spectrography analysis. Spectrography analysis helps visualize the frequency, duration, and intensity of the sound produced when participants pronounce the [q] phoneme. The research utilized Praat Voice Analysis software version 6.3.17 to process voice recordings and identify differences in the pronunciation of the [q] phoneme. The research employed a comparative descriptive qualitative approach with a content analysis design. Data collection involved various techniques, including recording, listening, and transcription. Voice recordings of two 12-year-old participants and an Arabic native speaker were collected to compare the pronunciation of Surah Al-Falaq verses 1-3. The results indicated that common errors in this study included sound changes and the omission of the characteristic [q] phoneme. For instance, students often replaced the [q] phoneme with [k] due to the similarity in the articulation location of these two phonemes. Additionally, participants tended to read too quickly, not allowing sufficient time for accurate pronunciation. The study also revealed a significant difference in the articulation of Hijazi letters between male and female speaker. female speaker demonstrated more consistent pronunciation patterns, while male speaker may require further intervention to address articulation and phonological errors.

ABSTRACT Machine translation, as an important tool in the field of artificial intelligence, has made significant progress in recent years. One of the most difficult aspects of machine translation is capturing the cultural nuances and meanings in illocutionary speech acts. Indonesian short story anthologies are an interesting example in this regard, as they contain distinctive and meaning-rich cultural terms. This study aims to explore the dynamic equivalence in machine translation shifts of sentences containing cultural terms and speech acts in Indonesian short story anthologies, as well as to evaluate the translation equivalence and success in transferring the cultural meaning. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research design with a content analysis approach. The analysis shows that the sentences in the short story anthology containing cultural terms and illocutionary speech acts experience translation shifts up to 83 data in the form of level and category shifts, which have an impact on the dynamic equivalence of translation. Google Translate can capture most of the cultural meanings, but there are still translation inequalities. Although machine translation technology such as Google Translate continues to evolve, further efforts are needed to capture cultural nuances and the ability to distinguish Arabic words without harakat (diacritical marks). Human involvement is still needed to ensure the accuracy of the translation results, especially in the cultural context and meaning of illocutionary speech acts. Developing Arabic speaking skills is essential in foreign language education, especially in effectively supporting students' communication abilities. However, teaching Arabic in educational institutions often challenges practicing active conversation. One of the methods considered effective in overcoming this obstacle is the direct method, which emphasizes the intensive use of the target language without translation. This study aims to explore students' perceptions of the application of direct methods in learning Arabic speaking skills in the extracurricular activities of MA Persis Tarogong. The research method is qualitative with a case study approach, involving 26 students actively participating in extracurricular activities for one semester. Data are collected through a Likert scale questionnaire and in-depth interviews. The results show that most students feel comfortable and confident with the method and report increased vocabulary. However, the main challenges students face are the application of grammar in conversation and the lack of confidence in speaking outside the classroom. The implications of this study suggest the need for further support through grammar exercises and strategies to increase student’s confidence in using Arabic spontaneously. AbstrakPengembangan keterampilan berbicara bahasa Arab menjadi fokus penting dalam pendidikan bahasa asing, terutama dalam mendukung kemampuan komunikasi siswa secara efektif. Akan tetapi, pengajaran bahasa Arab di lembaga pendidikan sering menghadapi kendala dalam praktik percakapan aktif. Salah satu metode yang dianggap efektif untuk mengatasi kendala ini adalah metode langsung, yang mengutamakan penggunaan bahasa target secara intensif tanpa penerjemahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi persepsi siswa terhadap penerapan metode langsung dalam pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara bahasa Arab pada kegiatan ekstrakurikuler di MA Persis Tarogong. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus, melibatkan 26 siswa yang aktif berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler selama satu semester. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner skala Likert dan wawancara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas siswa merasa nyaman dan percaya diri dengan metode tersebut, serta melaporkan adanya peningkatan kosakata. Namun, tantangan utama yang dihadapi siswa adalah penerapan tata bahasa dalam percakapan dan kurangnya rasa percaya diri untuk berbicara di luar kelas. Implikasi penelitian ini menunjukkan perlunya dukungan lebih lanjut melalui latihan tata bahasa dan strategi untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa dalam menggunakan bahasa Arab secara spontan.Kata Kunci: bahasa Arab; ekstrakurikuler; keterampilan berbicara; metode langsung; persepsi siswa

Writing hijaiah letters is one of the fundamental skills in learning the Arabic language. This research aims to identify the difficulties in writing Arabic letters, which act as obstacles to Arabic language learning. The study employs a qualitative method with a descriptive analysis approach. Interviews and tests are the data collection techniques used in this research. The data analysis technique in this study follows the views of Milles and Huberman, where the first stage involves data reduction, followed by grouping and detailed re-description of the data, and the final stage involves data analysis. The sample used in this research consists of second-grade students from SDIT Al-Amin, West Bandung. The findings from the conducted research reveal that the second-grade students at SDIT Al-Amin can already write Arabic letters proficiently. However, some students still face challenges in writing Arabic letters, such as incorrect sequencing of letters, reversed writing layout, connecting Arabic letters into a single word, and transferring Latin script into Arabic letters. In this regard, students require more intensive guidance.

Speaking is a very important skill in language learning, especially for beginners. By continuing to be trained, it can accelerate the language learning process, especially speaking Arabic. This research discusses Arabic language learning in improving kalam (speaking) skills at Ma'had Ihya As-sunnah Tasikmalaya Junior High School. This study aims to identify the methods used in learning to improve kalam (speaking) skills, the challenges faced by students and teachers, and the solutions applied to overcome obstacles. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews. The results show that the method applied is the direct method which focuses on improving kalam (speaking) skills through practice and direct interaction. One of the strengths of the direct method is that it emphasizes language learning that directly leads to improving kalam (speaking) skills and the application of this method is supported by a communicative approach where teacher and student interactions focus more on direct speaking practice. The main challenges faced are students' lack of confidence in Arabic speaking practice and students' lack of motivation in learning Arabic. As a solution, teachers apply a more interactive approach in the classroom and teachers create speaking training programs outside the classroom to increase students' interest and confidence in using Arabic. The recommendation from this study is the need to improve the quality of Arabic language teaching by increasing practice and improving learning programs that can help students' Arabic speaking practice. The use of appropriate methods and knowing the challenges and how to overcome these challenges, it is hoped that this research can contribute to the development of Arabic language learning, especially in improving kalam (speaking) skills at the secondary school level. ABSTRAKBerbicara merupakan keterampilan yang sangat penting dalam pembelajaran bahasa, terutama bagi pemula. Dengan terus dilatih maka dapat mempercepat proses pembelajaran bahasa terutama berbicara bahasa Arab. Penelitian ini membahas tentang pembelajaran bahasa Arab dalam meningkatkan keterampilan kalam(berbicara) di SMP Ma’had Ihya As-sunnah Tasikmalaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi metode yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran meningkatkan keterampilan kalam(berbicara), tantangan yang dihadapi oleh siswa dan guru, dan solusi yang diterapkan untuk mengatasi hambatan-hambatan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode yang diterapkan yaitu direct method atau metode langsung yang berfokus pada peningkatan keterampilan kalam(berbicara) melalui praktik dan interaksi langsung. Salah satu kekuatan dari direct method adalah menekankan pada pembelajaran bahasa yang langsung mengarah pada peningkatan keterampilan kalam(berbicara) dan Penerapan metode ini didukung oleh pendekatan yang komunikatif di mana interaksi guru dan siswa lebih fokus dalam praktik berbicara secara langsung. Tantangan utama yang dihadapi adalah kurangnya kepercayaan diri siswa dalam praktik berbicara bahasa Arab dan kurangnya motivasi siswa dalam belajar bahasa Arab. Sebagai solusi, guru menerapkan pendekatan yang lebih interaktif di dalam kelas dan guru membuat program pelatihan berbicara di luar kelas untuk meningkatkan minat siswa dan kepercayaan diri siswa dalam menggunakan bahasa Arab. Rekomendasi dari penelitian ini adalah perlunya peningkatan kualitas pengajaran bahasa Arab dengan memperbanyak praktik serta peningkatan program pembelajaran yang dapat membantu praktik berbicara bahasa Arab siswa. Penggunaan metode yang tepat serta mengetahui tantangan serta bagaimana cara mengatasi tantangan tersebut maka di harapkan dari penelitian ini dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan pembelajaran bahasa Arab, khususnya dalam meningkatkan keterampilan kalam(berbicara) di tingkat sekolah menengah.

Penelitian ini mengkaji implikasi penggunaan deiksis persona dalam kisah Nabi Nuh AS sebagaimana tercantum di ayat-ayat Al-Qur'an terhadap prinsip kesantunan berdasarkan teori Geoffrey Leech. Fokus penelitian adalah menganalisis bagaimana deiksis persona dalam tuturan perintah dan larangan mencerminkan nilai-nilai kesantunan. Metode penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan menggunakan teknik analisis isi, mengidentifikasi 29 bentuk deiksis persona dari sembilan surah Al-Qur'an yang relevan. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik simak dan catat, lalu dianalisis menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa deiksis persona pertama tunggal adalah yang paling dominan digunakan (44,82%). Prinsip kesantunan yang sering muncul adalah maksim simpati dan kearifan (masing-masing 30%), yang mencerminkan empati Nabi Nuh kepada kaumnya, baik dalam upaya mengajak mereka kepada kebaikan maupun saat menghadapi penolakan. Selain itu, variasi deiksis persona menunjukkan perbedaan pola komunikasi sesuai dengan relasi partisipan, seperti antara Allah dan Nabi Nuh, serta Nuh dengan kaumnya. Kesimpulannya, deiksis persona dalam Al-Qur'an bukan berfungsi sebagai alat linguistik saja akan tetapi sebagai sarana penguat pesan moral dan etika komunikasi, yang relevan dalam konteks interaksi manusia sehari-hari.

This study aims to analyze the implementation of cross-cultural reflection within the context of multicultural education, focusing on understanding the dynamics of cultural diversity in the classroom. This research uses an ethnographic method with a qualitative approach. The research data were obtained through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis in several multicultural schools in Indonesia. Data analysis Involves identifying recurring themes, patterns, and ideas within the data, process of comparing data segments to identify similarities and differences, focuses on the stories and experiences shared by participants. The findings indicate that cross-cultural education plays an important role in improving intercultural understanding, motivating students, and creating a more inclusive learning environment. The integration of local culture into learning through the use of folklore and traditional practices has proven effective in increasing student engagement. In addition, the results of the study reveal the need for further training for teachers in adopting an ethnopedagogical approach to overcome learning barriers due to cultural differences.
