Abstract

This study aims to examine the phenomenon of the quarter-life crisis among individuals aged 20 years and above through a literature review from the perspective of guidance and counseling. The issues addressed include the contributing factors, the forms of symptoms that arise, and the role of guidance and counseling services in helping individuals cope with this crisis. The research method used is a literature study with a qualitative descriptive approach by analyzing 20 scientific articles published within the last five years. The results indicate that the quarter-life crisis is influenced by internal factors, such as low self-confidence, unclear life goals, and low resilience, as well as external factors, such as social demands, environmental pressures, and economic instability. The symptoms include anxiety, identity confusion, uncertainty about the future, and emotional instability. From the perspective of guidance and counseling, services such as individual counseling, career guidance, and self-development have been proven effective in helping individuals understand themselves, improve decision-making skills, and plan their future more effectively. Therefore, guidance and counseling play a crucial role in helping individuals navigate the quarter-life crisis in an adaptive manner.

Abstract

Academic procrastination, or the habit of putting off assignments, is a common problem experienced by students and impacts academic achievement, motivation, and mental health. One approach used to address this problem is group counseling. Group counseling provides opportunities for students to discuss, share experiences, and support each other, thereby increasing motivation, self-management skills, and a sense of responsibility for academic tasks. This study used a journal review method, reviewing various previous studies that discussed the effectiveness of group counseling in reducing academic procrastination. The review results indicate that group counseling has been proven effective in reducing procrastination in both junior high and high school students. For junior high students, group counseling functions more as social support and external motivation, while for high school students, group counseling plays a more important role in strengthening self-efficacy and learning independence. Factors such as active member involvement, facilitator quality, and school support also influence the success of group counseling.

Abstract

This research explores hedonistic lifestyle patterns as a social reality that grows within peer interactions, both in adolescence and adulthood. The investigation applies a qualitative descriptive literature review by examining national scholarly publications issued from 2016 to 2026. The findings indicate that hedonistic tendencies should not be interpreted merely as individual choices to seek enjoyment. Instead, they emerge from social processes shaped by interaction, peer influence, and shared norms that develop within a group. In this context, peer circles function as influential socialization agents, encouraging conformity so individuals can be accepted and avoid social exclusion. The study also identifies differences in underlying motivations across life stages. Among adolescents, hedonistic behavior is closely linked to identity exploration and self-definition. For adults, however, it is more associated with maintaining self-image, signaling social standing, and displaying markers of achievement. Overall, environmental dynamics, the expansion of consumer-oriented culture, and intensive exposure to social media play significant roles in strengthening this phenomenon in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze promiscuous sexual behavior among adolescents as a manifestation of problematic behavior through a literature review approach. The method used was a literature review with a descriptive-analytical design, analyzing 20 national scientific articles published between 2007 and 2024. The analysis process was conducted systematically through the stages of identifying relevant sources, classifying themes, extracting important data, and synthesizing findings to build a comprehensive conceptual framework. The study results were then grouped into four main aspects: internal factors, external factors, impacts, and prevention strategies. The study results indicate that promiscuous sexual behavior among adolescents is influenced by internal factors such as knowledge, attitudes, and moral reasoning, as well as external factors such as family environment, peers, social media, and lack of parental supervision. The resulting impacts are multidimensional, encompassing health (sexually transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancies), psychological (anxiety, guilt), and social (stigma and educational disruption). Effective prevention efforts involve comprehensive sex education, active family involvement, and collaboration between schools and the community.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of bullying on adolescents’ mental health through a literature review. The method used is a literature review, which involves the collection and analysis of various relevant scientific articles published in the last five years. Data were obtained from journals and related scientific works, then systematically analyzed to identify patterns of association between bullying and adolescents’ mental health. The results of the review indicate that the majority of studies reveal a negative impact of bullying on mental health, such as the emergence of anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, and difficulties in social interaction. However, some studies found that this relationship was not statistically significant, suggesting the role of other factors, such as social support, family circumstances, and an individual’s ability to cope with stress. In addition to affecting victims, bullying also impacts perpetrators and bystanders, making it a complex phenomenon. Therefore, comprehensive prevention and intervention efforts are needed through collaboration between schools, families, and the community.

Abstract

In the field of education, cheating remains a critical issue of academic dishonesty. This phenomenon does not merely affect students' grades but also obstructs the development of core character values, including integrity, responsibility, and independence in the pursuit of knowledge. This article aims to analyze the factors influencing cheating behavior and evaluate various forms of intervention from the perspective of early detection of problematic behavior. This study employs a literature review method, examining 20 relevant scientific articles published between 2021 and 2026. The findings reveal that cheating behavior is influenced by internal factors such as self-efficacy, self-control, self-confidence, religiosity, and self-esteem as well as external factors, including peer conformity, parental pressure, the learning environment, and evaluation systems. Effective interventions include group counseling services, classical guidance, modifications to evaluation systems, and the utilization of Artificial Intelligence-based technology to detect potential academic fraud. Consequently, efforts to prevent cheating behavior require a multidimensional approach involving students, teachers, parents, and school policies to cultivate an academic culture of integrity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of counseling services in reducing anxiety in individuals through a literature review. Anxiety is a psychological condition characterized by excessive worry, emotional tension, and physical and cognitive impairments that can impact academic, social, and daily life activities. The study was conducted using a qualitative approach through data collection from various scientific articles, journals, and relevant library sources regarding counseling interventions to reduce anxiety. The research process included problem identification, literature collection, screening of relevant sources, data analysis, and synthesis of previous research findings. The study results indicate that various counseling approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), systematic desensitization techniques, cognitive restructuring, and relaxation techniques, have been proven effective in reducing individual anxiety levels. These interventions help individuals change negative thought patterns to more adaptive ones, improve their ability to regulate emotions, and reduce physiological responses to anxiety. Furthermore, a comfortable environment and structured counseling support also influence the success of the intervention. Thus, counseling services play a crucial role in helping individuals overcome anxiety and improve mental health and psychological well-being.

Abstract

Adolescence is a critical stage of development marked by various significant changes, both physically and cognitively. These changes influence adolescents’ self-perception, particularly regarding their body image and appearance. This study aims to explore the implications of body perception on self-confidence in adolescents, utilizing a literature review method. The research is based on an analysis of 20 scientific articles published between 2020 and 2026, all of which address body perception and self-confidence. The findings reveal a generally positive relationship between body perception and self-confidence, as most studies indicate that adolescents with positive body image tend to exhibit higher levels of self-confidence. However, some studies highlight the challenges faced by adolescents with negative body image, often correlating with lower self-confidence levels. This discrepancy suggests that while positive body perception can enhance self-confidence, negative body image may hinder the development of healthy self-esteem. In conclusion, body perception plays a crucial role in shaping adolescents' self-confidence, emphasizing the importance of fostering positive body image during this developmental stage to support psychological well-being.

Abstract

Delaying school responsibilities is a common behavior among students, known as academic procrastination, which can adversely impact their performance and mental health. This research seeks to examine how peer support influences academic procrastination in students by analyzing previous studies. A descriptive literature review of several pertinent scientific articles has been utilized for this purpose. The findings reveal that peer support significantly affects students' academic procrastination. Supportive peers who provide motivation, engage in collaborative learning, and offer emotional backing can help lessen students' procrastination. On the other hand, negative peer surroundings can lead to an increase in procrastination behaviors. Furthermore, aspects like motivation for learning, self-discipline, and effective time management also play a role in either reinforcing or diminishing this connection. In summary, peer support is a crucial element in helping students combat academic procrastination. It is, therefore, essential to foster a positive peer atmosphere in educational settings
